3DS Streetpass Experiences

Well not really haha. I'm guessing since you're posting in the StreetPass thread, that you have both wireless on and StreetPass activated while in sleep mode? And again, what constitutes a day for you? Is it strictly 24 hours? Or is it just from 8AM-8PM, etc.?

Edit: I'm just trying to get a better idea because if you're really at 2 bars of battery after a full 24 hours of some use+sleep mode, then that means there's something wrong on my end, which means I need to do something about it lol.
Streetpass can only be activated when wireless is on, so yeah both were active. You were referring to a work day somewhere, which is similar to a business trip (although you do have more time to play and drain the battery on the latter). I had 2 bars left at the end of the day (close to midnight). As for 24h I did a test once: Wireless on, whole day of taking 3DS with me (wireless on) and playing occasionally with 3D on (another business trip) and not putting it in the cradle over night but leaving wireless on (for possible future with more spotpass updates). I had 1 bar left the next morning put it in the cradle so don't know when the battery was about to die exactly. But unless you are playing heavily it should last you 24h.

I think I'm the only person in Toronto who bought a 3DS. :(
try going to Dundas Square, Eaton Center, and all these electronic stores that sell games
i got 5 hits in a trip around that area (2 were probably from the Nintendo 3DS booth on Dundas Square tho)
or you can come to my starbucks where i work, i always bring mine and hide it some where under the counter ;)

Question: Has anyone checked (under data management > Streetpass data) how many times their streetpass data has been transmitted?

There should be a file for each supported game.

I've gotten 2 tags, but it says I have transmitted my data 0 times. This is either a bug or part of the random design which could be causing the "i can't connect with a 3DS I know is there" scenarios.

Should be fairly easy to do right now. Check Mii plaza for # of tags you have, and check your file to see how many times you've transmitted your own mii data or SFIV data.

See if it match up.

Yeah, I'll head downtown this weekend. I work in the Yonge and Eglinton area. You think I'd get lucky around here.

If it reassures anyone at all, tagging the same five people at work for four days has already gotten me 2/3rds of the way through the Find Mii dungeon. Things are getting a little bit trickier at the end, but it seems like it won't take too many tags overall to get through it.

I've tagged over 150 times and my data transmitted counter still says zero

Can't be true, I keep on getting Streetpass.

Taking the subway (Wilson Station)
On the subway (~Dupont Station) (with SF4 battle too)
Getting Timmies (John/King)

So, TorontoGAF, wanna do a meetup? Now that I don't have a job, I'm free to do this anytime! :P

I still can't get street pass to work, even with my friend that I see all the time. It doesn't make any sense, I've checked into all the possible options and everything is switched on right. Pretty frustrating!

I'm hoping to have some luck at the Jays game on Saturday.

Saw somebody playing a 3DS on the bus earlier, but when I asked them about streetpass, they had no idea what I was talking about. They were also playing Pokemon, so they probably haven't messed with anything on the system yet.

So, that was a miss. HOWEVER - I did get my first real streetpass notification a few hours later. I came back from a meeting and the light was glowing on the 3DS. Somebody must have walked past the office with their system in standby. Neat.

Finally got my first hit. Didnt even realize where the green light was supposed to show up until I got it.

Kirken from Wisconsin, you never forget your first.

Shame he was a huge sissy in Find Mii.

Picked up 2 more tags at a Seattle-area GameStop last night, then 3 more at the mall when visiting its Apple Store and GameStop.

Isn't Luxembourg one of the best places to live? I always image everyone living there as very wealthy people... I'm jealous.

=(

Yeah, well apparently people here are more keen on buying Louis Vuitton bags than 3DSs =(

I've gotten three hits so far, and it feels so good when you get them. Never went out looking, shit just happened. Pressing forward in Find Mii.

You should get a Louis Vuitton case for the 3DS. Best of both worlds!

Just had a great series of fights in SF4 with a random Internet dude. Online works surprisingly well. Very little lag.

Man, I wish I was getting tags. I went to a small mall late last night no tags. Went to a different gamestop during lunch to pick up something, noticed a blue 3DS in sleep mode behind the counter and got excited, but when I asked about it, they said it was their store model to show off, they weren't allowed to make Miis, so no streetpass for me :-(. Might try a different mall tonight...

I've tagged 4 times, but mine also shows up as zero.

Is there any kind of communication?

Damn, I've been hoping at least one of the IT guys here at work would have one. No luck at my hospital so far. =(

I'll head to the mall for lunch and see if I can grab a couple there.

Oh shit... it worked!

I got my 10 coins for today (March 31)... then, I set the date to March 30, and I got another 10 10 coins.

Then I returned again to March 31, and I just got 1 coin (I will get the remaining 9 coins and will return again to March 30).

I wonder how it will affect my activity log.

I got my first 3 hits on StreetPass but I can't use them as heroes, or anything for that matter. Why am I only able to "hire a hero" for the StreetPass Quest?

It says "Go forth and gather heroes via StreetPass"

What do I do with these StreetPass Hits. They don't give me anything?

Today I got some new StreetPass Hits. Using these in StreetPass Quest and the Puzzle thing worked perfectly this time!

I guess last time was some kind of bug? I'm sure I tried Quest/Puzzle as soon as I opened Mii Plaza..

I think I'm gonna hit the mall tonight to check out that Microsuede case GameStop is selling for the 3DS, so I'll leave wireless on and see if I can get any tags!

Checking out the case is my excuse for trolling for Tags. :(

anyone see any potential negativity from streetpass, like, i'm slightly worried some crackheads gonna steel a 3ds, then troll the streets waiting for more people to jump when he sees the green light.

I'm just kidding, but yeah, I work in a rural town full of old people... no hits.

My green light was glowing last night and there was a green dot next to Ridge Racer but when I goto Street Pass, it says I havent connected with anybody.

Ahh the benefits of working at a developer.. A bunch of us are nerds and have 3DSs' already.

I just did a walk around the office to chat with a few people and grabbed 5 Street Passes.. haha

Somehow that scenario manage to be amusing and disturbing at the same time.

Did you go to Ridge Racer? Maybe you received something in game for that?

Got my first tag last night riding shotgun with a buddy from Alexandria to Arlington. The guy I Streetpassed also had SSF4 on it, so we had a figurine battle as well. He destroyed me all 5 rounds, but man was it awesome. Loaded up his Mii for the FindMii and Puzzle games too.

Such a fucking cool feature of 3DS. I never gave a single fuck about it until now. But to see it work so well and to get my first tag it's really exciting. So damn cool.

Foggles from Virginia... will I see you again?

The built in software is really amazing and pretty unprecedented, iirc. The home consoles have taken to adding non-gaming built in software like playing movies and music, etc. But all of the 3DS stuff is better gaming integration between games and with the console itself. The Play Coins idea, for example, is so awesome. Earning coins from system software and spending them in a 3rd party game... fucking nuts.

So having another weird occurrence. Someone just street passed with me for the first time. Yet I never got theirs. They sit about 30 feet away. Seems a bit odd. Oh well :P

Here are my experiences of Streetpass in Central London.

1) Had my 3DS since 25 March and have 8 Mii's join me.

2) Had 2 Super Street Fighter 4 Figure Battles over two consecutive days. Ironically it was with the same person (I must have passed them at the same point in my journey two days running).

3) Also got Ridge Racer but have had no Streetpass activity with that game.

An interesting observation is that Streetpass works whether you have a game paused and in sleep mode or not. Also you don't need the game to be in your 3DS to get a Streetpass exchange on it.

yay! i got my first 2, and a street fight.

do they just hang around in my street pass plaza forever now or what?

somehow this feature is really exciting, not sure why exactly, i like how hard nintendo are pushing it and i hope it doesnt just get forgotten about

I think it stores up to 100 of them.

got my first tag here in New Braunsfels,TX. Was pretty damn excited when my wife opened up the 3DS and opened up Mii Plaza to Its a pretty cool feature and i hope more people learn about it.

Well, no hits so far. Here's hoping lots of 3DS owners will be in Sainsbury's in Oxford City Centre tomorrow night when I go shopping. It's my best chance by some margin to get people; I don't often hang around metropolitan areas.

Yeah, got two people at the Mall! Two MiiPlaza and a SSFIV. They barely dented the sheild and blue ghost team. :(

I did whoop his ass in SSFIV figure battle though!

Shields can only be broken by the same color Mii, i.e. yellow shield = yellow shirted Mii.

Three days. Three days I have been searching this earth for the treasure that is the green light. Yet the light never appears. I am alone in the darkness forever. The darkness will consume my soul unless I find that great green light. The question is will you be that light?

...ok anywayz: noone yet. Its been three days and not a single person has passed me. Even drove by gamestop. :(

I don't want to keep buying peices and warriors. It feels like I'm cheating. How man puzzles are there anyway? I just bought a peice and it was a peice I already had :lol Also everyone randomly starts out with a different puzzle right? Is the only way to get more peices is to pass people with different puzzles or if you complete a puzzle with play coins do you automaticly unlock the next one?

How many puzzles are there? Also noticed that theres 16 hats when theres only 13 rooms on Find Mii. Guess you have o beat it a 2nd time to get them all. Which is cool the longer the better. I sure hope Nintendo releases new streetpast quests sooner or later. Though it seems plenty long now.
