3DS Streetpass Experiences

would it be possible for someone to come up with tunneling software so you can 'streetpass' with people over the internet?
 
No street pass hit, and not even with my friend who I see a bunch of times. My theory - we already did local Mii trade or whatever...does that stop any street pass tags after you've done that? I haven't had a single hit!

double check your streetpass settings. Go into Mii Plaza and see if its activated.

I'm going back home today after a two week work trip. I'm hoping that I get some tags at the airports. I even have a stopover, I'm going to turn on my 3DS when we land, just to put it into sleep mode, haha. Hoping for at least a couple tags.

And I'm down to meet up for some tags in Orlando next week if anyone else wants to! :-D
 
The most I got at one time was about 7. Walked around central london for a few hours, although I cheated a bit when I went to a few places that sell the 3DS but the others were probably from people walking around, had about 2 figure battles on Street Fighter too, which I won :D

I love the random nature of streetpass, but some of the functionality - RidgeRacer times for instance, IMO fit better with friends than with strangers.

Yeah I'm getting Ridge Racer in a few days, if that's all it does I'm not even going to activate street pass for that game.

Anyway Baltimore MD, checking in. Still not a single hit.

actually I'm assuming thats what it does, I haven't actually noticed anything, even though I've 'streetpassed' RR stuff with people.
 
Finally StreetPass'ed some people today in Stuttgart. First two guys when I was at the station within 5 minutes.

Later I walked thorugh the city and by a big electronics store ehre they had a 3DS Mall tour today and got 7 more hits. When you actually meet someone it is awesome as hell :) But I am still only in room three in Find Mii and I keep getting new puzzles. It's going to take a LOOOONG time to finish this, especially in my small and boring town.

Can't go to big cities every weekend like I did today :D
 
Has anybody gotten Streetpassed while driving? I mean, even on the interstate, my phone sees hotspots.

I live in the burbs, work in the burbs, and don't hit malls. I expect weeks to pass before I have a hit.

Man, if this thing would have come out before PAX East...
 
Took my US 3DS out for the first time, got 5 hits around Oxford Street/Tottenham Court Road. One of them was Swedish! I also got some Street Fighter notification when I went past HMV, so that means that US and EU copies of the game can interact locally in case that wasn't known already.
 
Got a hit on the N or R train into manhattan. Hi Drew if u are on GAF. Anyway I love love love this feature. So awesome. Apple will implement this I have no doubt in the future. I wish it had more info on the person but of course people would abuse it. Oh well...

Oh man, that will be so awesome next year. Gonn have to have it plugged into my 18000mAh battery pack the whole weekend! :lol

FINALLY got my first street pass while picking up some stuff at that Gamestop sale this morning. I'm hoping to get a few more while I walk my dog downtown tomorrow.

One calls himself 'todger' (lol).

They were a bit crap for Streetpass Quest, but whatever. I'll continue to pay my way through that game.
 
Haven't had a hit yet, except for one of my coworkers. My job takes me around town a bit, but probably not to any locations where I'm likely to run into another 3DS.

lvl 1 miis are pretty weak, I'd spend some coins and brign backup with you to clear some rooms.

I lost 2 Miis basically doing nothing when I asked them to cast magic. They will cast and run away.

I think the Miis level up if you tag the same person more than once.
 
Finally got one! Hello Henray if you're ever on here...

I admit Streetpass is more fun than I thought it would be. I really shouldn't get excited about seeing an extra little digital person on my screen after three days of walking around, but here I am smiling as I fight the insanely overpowered ghosts.
 
Go my second Streetpass today with the exact same person I got my first from. I was able to write them a personal message this time and rate them.

Got my first two Streetpasses today on my lunch break. Stopped into Target to use the ATM and apparently someone had enabled it for the demo kiosk. The Mii said it had been playing the Pilotwings Demo.

Checked and the system was in Pilotwings so it would appear it can transmit while in game, not just sleep mode.

Second hit was shortly after when I walked through the mall next door to grab lunch. Pretty sure it was the guy working in the mom and pop game store, the Mii looked just like him.

Man I've had NO luck tagging people on the street in NYC so far. It's insane. The only times I've been tagged is when I stepped into some random Gamestops in Brooklyn.

I'm going to the movies tonight as well, though, so hopefully I/we have better luck with the theater.
 
Got my first streetpass today in a busy shopping mall. Seemed like a small kid. Pretty useless though as far as the quest game goes. I have a lot of coins to buy heroes but it feels like cheating. I will probably finish the quest next year or something at the earliest.
 
Going to two different movie theaters today and tomorrow. I'm sure to get a few tags tomorrow since the theater I'll be going to on Saturday is part of one big mall outlet. We'll see what happens


Anyone try StreetPass at a movie theater yet?
 
So far, no luck for me and I've been carrying it everytime I go out. Anyone know what max distance you can be from someone in order to make the transfer? Also how long do you need to be within range for the transfer to complete?

I did yesterday...got nothing. It was a noon showing on a Thursday, though. Sucks to have a job where you work weekends :(

I've read up to 30ft. but I really don't have a definitive answer
 
I got my second hit today from someone on the job. Unless he happened to pass by my office with his 3DS (possible) it means the range for streetpass is farther than I thought.

I never figured this guy as a gamer either, I guess there are closet gamers everywhere.

The person I think I got the hit from (I haven't asked him yet to confirm) sits way farther from me than 30 feet but I'm getting the impression based on my two hits that you have to be in range longer than just walking by each other.
 
I work at Arizona State University so I walked on campus down to the Memorial Union and got 2 tags while I was out. I really didn't think I would get any.
 
I've had a few hits from someone in my office. I sit near a main arterial walkway so I don't know who it is yet. I just get the alert in the morning when everyone is shuffling in. We're holding a discussion through personal greetings which is interesting and has helped narrow down who it might be.

Arizona State is known as a party school. Why wouldn't you get any?

Oh yeah, the MU... I should swing by there. In my experience Coor Hall is a great place to get hits too.
 
I've seen so many people playing with their DSes on the metro in Wash DC over the years so I have a feeling that will become streetpass central once the 3DS hit critical mass.
 
Doesn't feel that great when the only Streetpass I have got this week came from my roommate. I been trying all week around campus and nothing from random people. I guess no one around UWG has a 3DS.

I'll have to go by there next week. I guess we're lucky to be on campus given so many other people are having a hard time getting hits.

My personal message for all StreetTag stuff is Twitter/Chorazin, I'd use the @ sign but they disable it for those greetings.
