3DS Streetpass Experiences

Cool! I'll be heading out in 30 minutes or so. I'm actually more excited about getting Street Pass to work than the convention itself. Sad haha.

So I got a stretpass hit today... while I was asleep :/

I left my 3DS in the cradle on my bar in the livingroom last night and somehow it got a hit early this morning. I don't know if it's from someone living in my condo or from someone passing by the building but I'm five floors up so that would be a hell of a long reach.
 
so if i use people in the streetpass quest (find mii), are they then gone from my streetpass plaza? or do they hang around but you can't quest with them again? from the sounds of it you can only use them once?

Yep, one use per time you Streetpass with them. And everyone you've met hangs around in the plaza.
 
So have we confirmed that being connected to a wireless access point effectively turns streetpass off? Meaning if I'm home and connected, I'd never get a hit?
 
Posted this on the 3DS US Launch thread but:

I got my first Streetpass hit!! I went to the mall to buy some jeans and got one in the Gamestop I went to. I'm pretty sure it was the cute Gamestop employee that was there.

I Just want to say though that Kimberly from Florida that likes cats & last played Pokemon White went out like a chump & fled from two ghosts, leaving my Mii to die in the Mii RPG.

It can do both, as mine was online and got a hit at the same time.

same here, and i live on a loft in a house, all my roommates don't have 3DS, but i got hit at 8 in the morning :/

I finally got my first StreetPass hit (sort of)... Passed by a gaming store and ask a guy working there that was testing a 3DS to enable the StreetPass function.

Another good run today, I went to some comics/manga shops near Notre-Dame in Paris and afterwards I had 7 miis waiting for me in the Plaza !

Simply going to notorious geek hangouts is a good way of making hits it seems.
 
So what happens when you get a hit?

Coins (what do they do?) and you get to fight someone in Street Fighter and can do something with a Mii?
 
Guys, can Mii Plaza's streetpass, and Street Fighter IV's streetpass be on at the same time?

Because I can get a hit on Street Fighter IV's, but not on Mii Plaza.

I WANT MII PLAZA MIIS FUUUUU.

I have them both on at the same time and I get hit with Mii Plaza Miis. Still no Street Fighter love.

If you get a Mii from another person's 3DS you can view them in Mii Plaza and use them in Puzzle Quest and Find Mii.
Puzzle Quest is basically the trading of puzzle pieces to complete pictures of Nintendo games.
Find Mii is a mini RPG where you use the Miis to fight ghosts and break your Mii out of a dungeon. You can also collect hats from the ghosts that your Mii can wear.

Coins are gathered from walking (100 steps = 1 coin but only 10 a day can be earned). You can use them in the AR Games to buy new games, in the Puzzle Quest to buy pieces and in Find Mii to hire heroes to fight for you.
They can also be used in games to buy stuff, like in SSF4 to buy figurines or Lego Star Wars to buy blocks and costumes.

With Street Fighter's StreetPass mode, you can line up a team of figurines that will battle another person's team and you will get points and more figurines depending on if you win or not.

There's also the 3DS Sound StreetPass that shows the top 5 songs that you pick.

Up to 12 programs can use StreetPass at any one time, but it's likely that SSF4 isn't on in a lot of 3DS units yet, because they might not know to activate it.

Street Fighter's streetpass is working, Mii Plaza isn't. :|

Took my 3DS to Southampton town center today in the hope of collecting a buttload of Streetpasses, making sure to hit up both GAME stores and the arcade. Only got 3, though... was expecting more.

If anyone got a Mii called Jon with a Mario hat on today whilst out and about, that was me! Your puzzle pieces were very much appreciated. :]
 
had a run to the shopping area today in Toronto, went to the mall, dundas square, and the ebgames around there, got 7 streetpass! then i left and walk to a not so busy area and surprisingly i got another one!

In addition to having streetpass on you also have to have invite mii on in the the option in streetpass plaza.

It says on the digital manual that you have to have invite mii on to invite others to your plaza. (its supid that its not just one option. I know.)

Still no hits here :(
 
Everybody whining about "only" getting 2 streetpass tags can seriously shut it! I've carried the thing around since launch even in busy areas and haven't had a single tag. I've triple checked all the settings. Either I'm supremely unlucky or there could be something wrong with my unit :/

What time of day are you walking about with it? I've found most of my hits have come around lunch/noon. That's from walking around both my school campus and downtown area.
 
Took my 3DS with me on a 3 hour trip on the Skytrain and through downtown Vancouver. I expected to at least get my first hit, but no one...
 
You should hit up Futureshop, HMV, and EB Games in downtown van. You're likely to get a few hits.

Got five more hits at Kingsway Garden Mall in Edmonton, today. And my first Ridge Racer ghost data.

I'm surprised anyone's getting any, considering the thing's been out for like a week. Saturation levels won't be high enough to reliably provide tagging for months. Those with 2 or 3 so far are the lucky ones.

I have 3 though. :3
 
Got my first 4 hits today. First at the commuter to boston, the other 3 walking around in brookline...hells yeah. Even got a sf4 notification...still don't know what it means though...

Im on vacation in USA so all i do is walk around...almost 12,700 steps today.
