3DS Streetpass Experiences

I got my first Streetpass today at the Houston International Airport.

This was the first time I travelled with the 3DS. Battery life is definately an issue (I was only travelling to El Paso). Being on an airplane drove the menus mad due to a lot of background noise (I originally thought they were based on the gyroscope)

I lost my StreetPass virginity today. I had previously gotten a hit at the Best Buy demo unit, but that's more like a blowjob, doesn't really count. And I got it by leaving my 3DS asleep in the car.

This guy AR had "NERD!!!" as his greeting. Nice guy. :p

The people you StreetPass with have to have unlocked them. I got a girl today that had four puzzles she was working on, got a peice from the Mario and Bowser puzzle now!

I got 10 streetpass tags on campus today, and every single one of us was missing the same bottom right piece of the Metroid Other M photo.

We must have all been sharing the pieces back and forth for that thing, I think of the 10, 3 had 14/15 pieces for it, and the rest had over 10 in it.

Of course I wasted all my day's coins on trying to get a new one. No dice. Damn duplicates. :(

But I've street passed a dozen or so people now and none of them had anything I didn't have, and all I have is one completed puzzle.

Ohhh, is that what it's based on? I always wondered why sitting in my car the icons spazzed out and sitting in my house they didn't. I kept shaking my 3DS trying to get them to move faster :P

As for streetpass, I got my first the first day I took it out; got my ass kicked in SF4 Figurine battles losing all 5 :(

I'm going to Las Vegas soon so hopefully I can tag a bunch of people there.

Got my first Street Pass Experience today, bizarrely the first one was driving in my car up the main street in the city. It was only about 40mins later when I was in EB looking at second hand DS games that a girl came in to pick up her 3DS. She had left it in there for Street Passing and it was hers I picked up from the road.

5mins later a guy came and the 3 of us were chatting about it and I discovered I had already got his from when I walked past a store about 50meters up the road.

None of them had puzzles pieces though. :(

One question, the Hero Quest thing, is someones Mii classed as a Hero only after they've been rescued? I couldn't use any of the ones I got and had to cash in my pedometer coins for Heroes.

Nah your problem is something silly/stupid with the game. You need to use the miis right away when you open the plaza. Use em or lose em. It sounds like you checked that they entered your plazam but then didn't use them in Find Mii right away.

I streetpassed two people that had different puzzles in progress. I think it was because they were foreigners (they had like 65 streetpass D:). I remember reading something about how different locations start with different puzzles.

I got 6 streetpasses the other day in Sydney city... turning out much better than I was expecting streetpass frequency to be like here.

Yes, it's definitely that. We did a survey on a spanish forum and the puzzle you begin with depends on the region you configure in your console.

UGH can't believe they do this! I'm two pieces off in two puzzles and spent 50 coins on trying to complete the two... ALL pieces were duplicates! What the hell man :’(

Am I the only one thinking this "dark room" in Streetpass Quest is crap ?

Am I really supposed to waste all my coins hoping for a white-wearing cat to drop (I've only gotten one since the beginning of the game, they seem quite rare) OR wait to streetpass someone with a white shirt ?

This sucks.

Last thursday was a pretty athletic day in NY...20k steps and 10 (outstanding) streetpass hits.
...gotta love the big apple.

What part of town were you in?

After playing around with the Find Mii game last night, I realize I need to start getting more street pass hits, I blew all 90 of my coins in 30 minutes to progress through a few rooms.

Yes, it would certainly be better if you could just move through each room straight away with no obstacles and where you didn't need to do anything.

Also, that would much better reach the objectives of encouraging people to take their 3DS with them, rather than just have them shake the machine and buy cats.

So how many regions are there -- I guess in other words how many puzzles?

Got over 50 streetpasses today at Supernova expo in Melbourne Australia.

Also got a ton of people with streetfighter and nintendogs data.
Only thing is I dont think alot of people bother to set up the sharing properly in game.

Alot of street fighter teams were all level one starting trophies and most people had not set up to share a gift, photo and message in nintendogs

Now that sounds like a carefully thought out response.

How does requiring me to meet a Mii with a white shirt before I can do anything encourages me to take my 3DS everywhere ?

I've been carrying my 3DS everywhere from the beginning because of the satisfying feeling of (slow but sure) progression you get in Streetpass Quest by meeting everyday with other people's Miis.

Since I've reached this point in the game two or three days ago, I'm not progressing anymore. So I've been kind of forgetting about the game, and I don't really think about putting my 3DS in my pocket before going out anymore.

It's not like the color shields, where you can still hit the ghosts with less powerful magic attacks even if you don't have the proper color . In the dark room, you can't do anything if you don't have white.
Since I just haven't been able to do anything for a few of days, I just don't play it anymore. Kind of like the opposite of what Nintendo wants to achieve (and had achieved brilliantly until this point) I think.

I'll get over it, my life doesn't end with that, and this white Mii/cat will certainly come at some point, but it's still sucky design.

I agree. What's even worse I got white shirts before that friggin' room on a regular basis (and you have no use for their magic before, at least not that I discovered). But not ever since I arrived at that room. I switched over to puzzles for now.

Been taken my 3DS with me too but only 2 hits so far (city with 500k + inhabitants in Germany, and one of the hits wasn't even in Germany).

amazing, i met got 2 more mii streetpassed me last night when i went out drinking
my greeting was always "Whatsup nerds" and one of this guys greeting was "Yes, we are nerd"
perfect. and its the first time we pass each other!

Yeah, blow into the 3DS mic and watch the menus spin. ;)

Caught my first two people today.
One was the actual Gamestop store and the other was one of the employees (who I talked to. Sales of 3DS is brisk apparently).

Yup. Its been selling pretty steadily at my store as well. Pretty good pace to be honest. Only gotten one streetpass from a customer so far though, a week and a half ago. Nothing since. :(

Wait you work at a gamestop and haven't been getting Streetpasses steadily? Cuz everyone's been telling me gamestops are streetpass magnets. I stop in every once in a while and usually get a few hits. Maybe all gamestop employees have their 3ds's sitting behind the counter.

My girlfriend and I attend an Atlanta Braves game with a few friends last night. Sold out. Over 51 THOUSAND people there.

Didn't get one single streetpass. *sigh*

Got some badass 3D pics though :)

Well, I'm not travelling anytime soon, so I guess no more Puzzle Swap for me.

My wife dragged me along shopping today, luckily one of the stores was near the Nintendo World Store. Multiple street passes all up in this!!

Went to West Covina to eat out with the family in the Filipino area. I didn't expect to get any Streetpasses but surprisingly I got one.

Oh and I just noticed the color of your shirt transfers to Find Mii. More people should wear green and orange. Luckily I wear green so hopefully I'm a helpful hero. :3

I got my first Streetpass yesterday when I was walking in a popular area of São Paulo - it was a woman. Her dream is to visit outer space LOL

I just think it's strange to no be able to add her as a friend because the friend code doesn't appear.

I'll never understand why Seattle doesn't have a Nintendo store. NOA is headquartered in Washington, Seattle is a major city with a very touristy downtown and yet we don't get a Nintendo Store?!

Just got back from Japan Fest in Houston.

Got 14 StreetPasses for the Mii Plaza. Now I'll be able to play Find Mii :) EDIT: Nevermind, apparently I didn't find a single person to help me on it. >_>;

3 on StreetPass figure battles. I only won one match, the other two I lost hard. But I haven't exactly configured it after getting all of those figures.

I have 17 play coins, so obviously I got 10 of them today.

This is probably the only time I will ever get StreetPass lol.

YESSS!! Got my first 2 hits today at the Burbank Parade here in SoCal. Nerdy and Louis, if you're reading this, pleased to meet ya (I suspect they are a Nintendo-loving couple, as they were within a couple minutes of one another and had the same favorite game). Now I have to see what having these 2 new Miis lets me do in those silly games.

I also took some semi-successful 3D pics of the parade, which included a bunch of "celebrity cars"--K.I.T.T., the General Lee, the A-Team van, etc. The 3D wasn't too distinct for these, and in one odd case the 3D was inverted. Time to check out the 3DS pic thread to see how they compare...

Hmm - i'm averaging about 5.4 streetpasses a day (42 days out, 230 passes)

With puzzles and the Mii Rpg completely done, now i'm switched over to doing the US ones.

Only 3 my entire time, with 2 SF streetpasses. Sort of difficult since I leave for work so early which minimizes the encounter rate with 3DS people. I don't want to pedo it up by walking along school routes and it feels like I'll have to make an effort to make a day out of it rather than actually fish it out naturally. In truth I think I might do this. Put my 3DS in a locker that are usually near the entrance of malls on street pass and SSF2 streepass, head out for 3 hours. Come back...profit.

lockers... brilliant... if StreetPass works thru the locker door material.

I haven't gotten anyone.

I took it with me to run a couple of errands; the bank, plaza, mall, grocery store and came home but just fulfilled my steps quota for the day.

Hopefully I get at least one person in my area.

I live in the Inland Empire.
Oh dang, me too! In Montclair. No 3DS though.

I finally got my first tag at Costco today; man I was excited when I saw the green light at home. It was a girl named Hailee who also got tagged in Nintendogs. Streetpass is a cool feature. I'm bringing my 3DS to my univeristy hoping to get even more tags.

Btw guys, isn't something suppose to happen in Find Mii and the Puzzle Collection game in Mii Plaza when you get a tag? For some reason I don't have a new puzzle piece, and no hero in Find Mii (unless I hire one for 2 coins).
