3DS Streetpass Experiences

Smaller turnout today at the convention, but I did complete the SMG2 puzzle panel. Didn't defeat the armored fiend though (picked the worst possible times to play Find Mii), so that will have to happen another time

Time to go back to my Streetpass drought ;_;
 
I got my second StreetPass hit today. That's about 4 months of nothing, and then two within the span of a week after the price drop.
 
The best StreetPass experience I've had so far is tagging the same guy twice in two different parts of the country.

I tagged the guy at the DCI SouthEastern Regional in Atlanta, and then again two weeks later at the DCI World Championships in Indianapolis. Pretty darn cool.

Drum Corps International. Consists of super-competitive non-profit marching music organizations, whose membership includes kids under the age of 22 that dedicate their summers to what can essentially be summed up as a month of boot camp, followed by coast-to-coast tours, sleeping on gym floors, rehearsing 12 hours a day, and playing dozens of shows for 15,000+ people. Pretty neat stuff. I went to a lot of shows this summer cause my sister was a member of Carolina Crown, my good friends members of Phantom Regiment.

Local anime convention's coming up this weekend. I've outgrown that scene but I'm tempted to walk around a bit just to see if I get any streetpass pings.
 
Currently staying at Ocean City NJ, so I took my 3DS with me to the boardwalk a few nights ago and got my first ever Street Passes (four of them). Two of the people had a few completed puzzles, but since I'm new to this I focused on getting pieces from panels I don't have.

Last night I took it to the boardwalk at Wildwoods, and netted another four passes. I think I'm up so six or seven different panels right now, but I've got a long ways to go on finishing any of them.

One of the passes I encountered also gave me a DOAD throwdown, in which I won, to receive another figurine.

I'm really having a lot of fun with this, and hope to snag some nice hats on Find Mii. I want Samus's helmet.
 
Does Streetpass still work when you put a DS game in suspend?

I notice it still logged my steps for today, but I'm not sure if I missed out on some Streetpasses.

anyways, since the price drop, I've gotten around 8 passes, 0 before that.

Apparently not. The other day I run into a guy that was playing a DS game on his 3DS and it wouldn't connect with my 3DS.

Depending on the size of the convention, you're bound to get a few tags
 
I got 3 tags in one day walking in downtown Toronto. The most I ever got in Toronto was 1 a day (back in March/April). I guess more people have picked up 3DS units rapidly now or that there's just more people out and about cause it's summer time (for a few more days).
 
I got either 140 or 150 tag over the last two days at AnimeFest in Dallas.

I also managed to get another three guests at my Dragon Quest IX inn, although I'm way past done with the game.
 
Got 3 hits today from walking around Target I would guess. Pretty cool but wish you could put more than a few characters in the greeting.
 
At E3 this year, I was busy clearing my queue, and found hundreds. Could've been more if I could clear more frequently.
 
I got three hits at the Bronx Zoo a couple days ago. I had my 3DS in my camera bag, but I did notice a couple younger kids running around taking 3D pictures with their units. So, it seems like more people are using them. The only downside was that 2 out of the 3 people didn't have any puzzle pieces. That's all I need right now :(
 
New feature? I got a StreetPass an hour ago and one of the options for the Streetpassed Mii was "Last Game Played". Selecting it gives you the option to check the game out in the Nintendo eShop.

I wonder if it has to do with the specific game (it was OoT) and not a system wide update from a firmware install.

That's been there ever since the eShop update, I believe.

That's been there for a while now, I've seen it for many titles. Its cool. good to see Nintendo is integrating the 3ds' various features.
 
If any of you live in the NY Area, there is a Star Fox 64 3D event this Friday at Nintendo World.

Also, Price drop matters. I've been getting a lot more tags, even though I have a lot of tags.

Also got a SF and a RR streetpass, it being my first RR one.
 
I got my first non UK street pass today thanks to a yank.

Talking of foreigners, during my whole time in S.Korea I didn't streetpass a single sausage. Guess they are too busy playing Angry Birds on their phones (this isn't a joke, they love Angry Birds over there).

Notting Hill Festival was a rather poor showing considering the number of people there. Just one streetpass.
 
Yay got my first two hits today! (UK)

One of them has 1800 hits! His last game played was the ambassader program, so jealous...

The other had about 40. Her last game played was the eShop

Managed to get two new puzzles of them, Metroid one and Mario+Bowser one. I had a complete Zelda one but they both finished that one, they're probably not as happy with the hits as I am.

It was the first time I took my 3DS out, I should take it out more often.

And since it seems to be a mid-large convention, I should be expected to get even more tags than the amount I got from a local anime convention last month. I wonder if I'll get at least over 25 originals in a single day
 
I once streetpassed someone whose mii was almost identical to mine, down to the hairstyle and clothes colors. Weird as fuck.
 
Sooo...what is there to do with Streetpass?

I have never gotten a hit (I have only taken my 3DS to a couple movies to play while in line), but I really don't know what you can do with it.

Anyone got a good break down of what makes it pretty fun?

Is it just the puzzle stuff?

yeah, already completed it twice.

obviously i was aware there would be diminishing returns with the luck-based puzzle piece purchasing, but i think i got short-changed a bit <=<

We get 2-3 walking up Yonge from Queen to Bloor, nearly every time. Sometimes the Game Centre guy doesn't bring his 3DS anymore though.
 
I brought my 3ds to university (I just left it in my bag) and ended up with 10 street passes. Is there a max amount of street passes you can get at one time? If so I should probably use them in the games before I run out of room.

Used 120 to finish off the panel the 3DS started with. Only had 1 Streetpass, and they had the same one. So with completing Find Mii twice and buying the AR card games, nothing left to do with the coins currently. :(
