4chan will refuse to pay daily online safety fees in the Uk

The implications of an online site requiring to adhere to the legislations of every individual country are pretty severe. UK ISP's can choose to block 4chan if it violates UK law but the site itself can only adhere to the laws of the country it's based in.

He's coming for ya...

I still suspect vote fraud for a lot of these regimes. Same as we saw in the US. Same as other countries with suspicious election results in recent years.

Voting machines need to die. Ballot boxes need to be counted at location and never moved before counting. There needs to be a review or safety procedures regarding voting station staff to ensure the integrity is not compromised by any one political group.

Wrong. A company's responsibility it to abide by the legislation where it does business, you cannot wave it away by saying: "Lul, US baby".

I think they see it more as Brit tourists showing up to buy stuff in an american store in the US, should that store have to collect the VAT tax and send it to the UK. If 4chan has no operations in the UK itself, why should they have to pay any tax?

...The UK has Voter ID and every ballot is done on paper and is counted manually at least twice. If anything that sounds like what the Republicans in the US want. Voting machines have never been a thing in the UK.

I'm sorry for all the trouble my country is causing. I didn't choose the cunts in charge.
Imagine China trying to pull this shit. I lived there with the great China firewall, and that's what I'm seeing now in the UK. 80% of the internet blocked, but GAF stayed winning as it wasn't blocked.

US based company, UK has zero rights to tell our companies anything whatsoever.

UK is basically a vassal state to the US anyway, they essentially have zero military and completely rely on the US for protection lmfao, you can't tell us anything. Mind your own business , your country is falling apart and turning into a 3rd world Muslim pit.

Really hope that Operation Raise the Colors is a success over there. You gotta stand up and vote these people ruining your country out. If things go as they are there won't even be a western presence in Europe in a few decades.

UK law is incompatible with annonymity, so of course they were going to go after 4chan. Ofcom is probably salivating at the opprotunity to block or fine 4chan off the British internet.

No privacy, no freedom, no disenting opinions, welcome to the future.

most countries operate like that. it's insane to me that the US uses automated machines...

What? It has a navy of over 60 vessels, which includes two 80k ton Aircraft Carriers, 9 nuclear submarines (4 of which has nuclear ICBMs), 150+ Fighters (including F35s), hundreds of tanks and APC/IFVs, and almost 150k active military personnel. Oh, don't forget the 200+ nuclear warheads. It's ranked the 6th most powerful military in the world.

Just a smattering of articles, there's more.
And whatever they do have is a drop in the bucket compared to the US.

I'm not sure how much of that stuff can actually deploy and work as intended, but yes, the Brits still got some teeth.

Yes, it's weaker than it has been in the past, but spending has risen again due to recent geopolitical realities. That equipment I mentioned still exists. Including the two aircraft carriers. There is also a world of difference between zero military and being able to match the USA. Even if the UK dedicated 10% of their budget they will never match the USA, being an island nation with a fraction of the population. The claim they have zero military is just nonsense. Only a handful of nations actually have a military more powerful than them.

We do have a decent military. It is severely hamstrung though. To name just a few problems:
  • We don't have enough submariners. HMS Ambush has been in dock for months. Even surface warships sailors are low.
  • Diversity drives have reduced our capability, most notably our fast jet pilots.
  • Armed forces accommodation is in a terrible state (mould, etc.), and now some has been used to house Afghan refugees.
  • We don't have the number of F-35Bs that we should.
  • Our Typhoon fleet has it's oldest frames being phased out.
  • We've just abandoned (again) any space ambitions.
  • We have very few frigates, and can only just muster together a carrier strike group.
  • Of about 78,000 personnel in the British army: only about 18,000 are 'combat ready'. There are probably more highlighter girls. More shockingly, and for context, there are around 40,000 Islamist extremists on the watch list.

Yeah, I don't deny the UK military has issues due to the past 15 years of neglect, but it's a far cry from no military. Even with the issues that it has it is one of the few countries with ICBMS and the ability to project force around the globe. You'd also be surprised how quickly issues like that are resolved in any potential extreme crisis. Just look at how the Ukraine military changed.

Allegedly, they will soon go after the VPN providers.

they will eventually drive people towards TOR... and once the "kids" they want to "protect" find TOR... man oh man are they gonna be exposed to some fucked up shit.
you can't even go on a TOR search engine without getting ads for drug dealers.

For sure, I was being fairly belligerent and exaggerating things to make a point, but you are right here. There isn't "zero" military.

Yeah imagine if China threatened to block Tik Tok unless they sold themselves to a Chinese company.

Ok commander in armchair chief, calm down.

I'm glad some us tech is pushing back. No idea why all of them including Google and Facebook don't just ignore them as well. If all this tech threatened to pull out of the UK, they soon would capitulate. Too many jobs rely on these services. UK isps and the government haven't got the balls to block all these sites.

Fucking Starmer disgusts me. He goes around all smiles and talking pleasantries all the time in a soft tone acting like everything there is peachy. The worst kinds of people are the straight up liars that state an opposite.
I have never seen people hold office and lie so boldly as today. I mean, we have always had liars in politics, but the 2020s take the proverbial cake.

All this bollocks goes back to 97. That's when they decided to start destroying this country.
This can't be overstated. Blair set out on a mission to eradicate the past and destroy our every culture and tradition.

The fact that banning fox hunting was the first thing he did was telling. It wasn't just about cruelty to animals he was making a point that he wanted to cut ties with everything the country had stood for for 1000 years. It was like Mao getting rid of the Four Olds.

Well, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that a country and a people that made a convicted rapist, and probable Epstein Island Paedophile, its President, are so against anything to do with age verification to protect children.

The US has become a morally bankrupt, cesspit of a country, rotten to the core.

this is one of the dumbest posts I've ever read on this site.

I'm no fan of Trump either. But none of these things are true. You should stop reading Reddit and living your life on what the news says.

Do you know what convicted even means?

The US is fucked, agreed, but don't pretend the UK is anything special. It shouldn't be up to the entire world to self-censor to "protect" the UK's children when their parents should be doing a better job of regulating their children's media. And the UK's attempt is pretty fucking pathetic and will be discontinued as unnecessarily wasteful and completely ineffectual before long.
And fucking lol at anyone who thinks non-UK businesses need to do anything. The UK cannot enforce it's laws beyond it's borders. if the UK doesn't like it, they'll need to ban the site at a national infrastructure level. And the more sites they ban, the faster this whole branch of stupidity will be forced to come to an end.

It's not daily 'fees' it's fines for not paying a previous fine. The title is incorrect and makes it seem like some kind of tax.

The problem is that there are 50 different voting systems since the states have the power to regulate elections. You have some that have touch screens, others still use pen and paper. We've had debates at work about creating a national election system…but that would take an amendment to the Constitution.
