Old? Just got the news myself.

The new patch fixes several of the most commonly reported issues and has made changes to the ranking system. The rankings have been reset to allow for these alterations, and the two extra content maps are now free. Read on for patch details.

Issues addressed by the Pandora Tomorrow patch #4:

* Teleportation: this glitch enabled a player to teleport himself.
* Double Jump : now, a spy won?t be able to kill a merc by jumping twice on his head.
* Connectivity : when launching the game, some players sometimes started in spectator mode. This has been fixed.
* Mine Glitch : you won?t be able to jump and stay on your mate?s head while he?s putting a mine or a spy trap on a wall
* Matrix Glitch : you won?t be able to block indefinitely a merc by grabbing him
* Disconnection cheating : we fixed some cheating possibilities that occurred with special modems.
* Ranking : some players had very high ratio because of a wrong number of games played. This has been fixed
* Invincibility : it no longer happens when mercs run into each other or jump on the other?s head
* Immediate success : in some occasion, spies could win immediately.
* Access to mercs spawn point : Spies that camp near a merc spawn point will be electrically shocked.
* High jump : you will no longer be able to reach higher places by jumping on your mate?s head or by using wall jump in specific cases.
* River Mall : this map will no longer freeze (yellow screen)

I remember when they said Xbox wouldn't bring about console game patching.
They said there would not be patches for single player. It's happened though, albeit very rarely (Halo 2 overscan issue on certain HTDV comes to mind)
Nothing wrong with patching xbox live issues. Even with hundreds of testers it's impossible find every whacky stupid stuff thousands of bored played will ever be able to find.

It's unfortunate it took Ubi Soft this long to address these issues. Had Pandora Tomorrow received appropriate patching and restricted more of the bullshit closer to release, I'd probably still be playing this game online. Tons of cheating ruined this game just a few months after release.

Halo 2 may suffer a similar fate.

I thought cheating wasn't possible on XBL? At least that's what folks use to scream..... yes XBL has lots of advantage... point being people will find a way to cheat regardless of what type of online infrastructure you set up.

it's more like exploits instead of cheating.

What they mean is people can't alter the game / run scripts or programs to cheat (aimbots, trainers, etc). If its an exploit in the actual game then yea, people can still abuse it.

Regardless of whether it's a gameshark code, exploit, etc it's all going to be called cheating when you are playing against the person doing it..... people will take advantage of what they can find... and no gaming network will ever be 100% cheat-free. Some doors will be closed, i.e. gamesharking... but others will still exist i.e. exploitation of shoddy code.

PT has been dead to me not more than a few weeks after I started on the multiplayer with my friends, even with the patches I don't think I'd play. It's got one of the worst communities I've encountered for a Live game. From the lovely sweet nothings that a Spy whispers into your ear to the post game "Yeah bitches you suck" if you lose or "Aw, no F@#$%ing way." If you win. In Halo 2, Mechassault, Star Wars and others you at least encounter the occaisional "good game." And no amount of patches will fix that about Pandora.
