This is by far the most tone-deaf and useless collab that I can think of. MS killed native VR/MR even on Windows, cloud via the virtual screen is just a sad joke.

Gears 1 is already getting another damn remaster, I'd rather get a brand new spin-off VR title

(This applies to halo too. I'd rather see a brand new game centered around vr than a clunky port of CE)

Just a heads up, the Arkham Shadow promo is kind of technically over. Meta will still honor purchases but you have to deal with their customer support instead of it being automatic with the device's activation.

The link he provided for the 256GB is $399. The 128GB is the $299 model.

Meta Quest 3S - $299
Elite Strap - $69
Xbox Controller (Limited Edition) $79
Meta Sub - $8x3
Game Pass Ultimate 3M - $59
Total - $530 plus tax so $130 more then the bundle... even if you remove the subscriptions it's still like $50 cheaper.

I'm not saying it's an amazing deal but it's not terrible. Sure you could just get a standard Xbox controller on sale and not bother with the subscriptions but for the customer that would want this it's not bad.

Sure, but a Vision Pro and a Meta Quest 3/3S are very different devices targeting different audiences. One is $300 and the other is $3500.

Vision Pro's primary use is not as a VR headset even if it does some similar things.

But yeah, ultimately it is semantics.

I didn't realize it comes with the Elite strap as standard. Good deal for those who were looking to jump in to VR, and want to stick with OEM accessories. If you're willing to go third party, there are much better head straps out there at very reasonable costs.

I have to say, this is a great way to enjoy GeForce Now and GamePass cloud gaming. I use my Quest often for just that.

Edit: I noticed I get this for any post that is neutral or positive in nature, and even tangentially related to Xbox.

Yeah, it was a dumb product that is cool from a tech standpoint but would have been better as a concept device than an actual product that people can buy. It was never going to sell to every day people.
 
It's stupid not to couple this with 3D-enabled releases of some key games over streaming.

Not full VR, which would be a poor fit for streaming, but just regular 3D. Watching a game or movie on a large 3D screen actually looks amazing in VR, and wouldn't be at all improbable to set up with their streaming network. They just didn't bother.

🙄 3S?! Those outdated Fresnel lenses? Stay away from it. You can get a Quest 3 and do the same damn thing this can but the visuals won't entirely suck.

Set one of these up today.

A few notes:
Yeah...the black color with green trim (around the headset and on all the controllers) is nice.
It comes with the comfort strap (not the completely crap fabric one like I suspected it would).
It does not qualify for the free batman with a purchase of the 3s.
The xbox controller is the same color scheme as the headset.

Is it worth the value? I guess you are technically getting "more" with this package if you were to purchase the upgraded meta strap and the xbox series x wireless controller (although you would have to purchase the controller through their custom controller creator...thing).

Would I recommend this over a quest 3 if you have the money...no. The quest 3 has better hardware across the board. I like the color option, it will stand out in a sea of "white headsets" at expo events I guess...and the green color IS neat imo.
