5 Ways Assassins Creed: Shadows Outshines Ghost of Tsushima

iu

Arriving a little late to the party, with Ghost of Tsushima already having explored the iconic setting, here are five ways it manages to outshine Sony’s classic.

5-reasons-to-be-hyped-for-assassins-creed-shadows-4-1536x864.jpg

- Enhanced Stealth Mechanics: Assassin’s Creed Shadows offers a sophisticated stealth system with a Splinter Cell-inspired visibility meter and dynamic weather affecting gameplay, surpassing Ghost of Tsushima's focus on swordplay.

- Dynamic World: Shadows features destructible environments and a weather system that alters the game world, providing a more interactive experience than Ghost of Tsushima's visually impressive but static setting.

- Improved Parkour: The shinobi protagonist Naoe in Shadows enjoys a revitalized, fluid parkour system, outshining the more limited climbing mechanics in Ghost of Tsushima.

- Historical Integration: Shadows weaves real historical figures like Yasuke, the first Black samurai, into its narrative, offering a grounded story compared to Ghost of Tsushima's fictionalized approach.

- Dual-Protagonist Variety: With Naoe and Yasuke, Shadows provides diverse gameplay styles, contrasting with Ghost of Tsushima's single-character focus, adding depth to the experience.

I really can’t wait for the Switch 2 Direct so people have more material to talk about than this game.

There’s an existing thread with a poll comparing AC and GoT for people who want to argue. This should have been put there, not yet another thread.
Yeah did we really need another ac vs ghost thread

Listen, im really loving Shadows atm.
Shadows focuses on things GOT doesnt- nor needs to. Ghost also came out in 2020 for PS4 And is a cross gen game at this point. Things like dynamic world and all this will naturally fall behind Shadows as of today.
Where comparisons should be had is Samurai combat to Samurai combat imo- GOT wins in that category. It's also very clear Shadows has some GOT influence and vice versa.

I mean, yeah. Shadow's is an objectively better game lol. Significantly better stealth mechanics (and almost every other mechanic tbh), level/world design, player movement/traversal, cosmetic/gear customization, exploration, graphics, and there's also the amazing weather/season systems.

Ghost has it in combat and narrative. That's about it. It's more copy-pasted than most AC games, but people give it a pass because it has nice art direction and is PS exclusive. As an open world stealth action game, it's obviously inferior. Anyone who's played both can see that.

We'll see how Yotei holds up this year.

I’m loving both games but dude come on. The historical F-ups and dual protagonists is cons not pros. Ha!

We’ll see what Yotei’s world is like. A fair comparison. Current gen and same year.

Here, have another one ladies

All games have bugs and issues. Baldurs Gate 3 was amazing when it came out from early access but the third act was absolutely broken. Does that mean the game is bad? No

I encourage people like you to spend less time watching youtube, Asmongold, and all these grifters and put that time into playing games and trying to enjoy them. Trust me, you will be more happy in your life

Are these "bugs" too?

I dont need to watch asmomgold to know slop when i see one 😂.

Also, how about you spend more time enjoying this supposed marvelous game instead of desperately trying to defend it online?

I have played Shadows but all 3 latest AC games outshine ghost of Tsushima and I particularly didn't really like Valhalla. But Tsushima is only a game of presentation and style, the rest is very hollow and the samurai combat so bad like if they learned nothing about sword gameplay those last 20 years.

For fuck's sake. Each game does something better than the other and each game does something worse than the other. Play what's fun to you.

You shouldn't be comparing it to ghost of tsushima, you should be comparing it to ghost of yotei when it comes out. You're comparing a game in a brand new franchise that launched on the ps4 to a game series that has been around since the 360 days and to a game in that series that launched exclusively on next gen machines. This comparison makes no sense.

What time is it?
Assassin's Creed automated parkour systems have always been boring so I wouldn't consider that a feather in their cap.

Yea if you play like a moron you can make any game look bad, especially with stealth and npcs.

Games like Hitman or Splinter cell.

Such shit clickbait trash

For real, it’s such a dumb trend in gaming discourse. Dunkey shat on Death Stranding and all of his gameplay footage was him playing the game like a toddler. Same with Penguinz’s review of TLOU II. He put the game on very easy and brute forced his way through the game with lock on cranked all the way up.

“I refused to engage with any of the game’s mechanics and played like a moron. Here’s some footage showing how bad it looks. Told ya it would suck!”

So fucking dumb.

I don't know about outshining GoT, but doesn't AC Shadow still suffer typical Ubisoft game bug? It's a running joke at this point that every single Ubi game that they have released suffers from some minor glitch to stability issues.
