I really liked the imagery of Beasts of the Southern Wild. Very evocative and affecting film with a marvelous score.
The Fighter. Wow. Great movie with incredible performances by Christian Bale, Melissa Leo, and Amy Adams. The plot was a little predictable, especially towards the end, but in this case that's not a bad thing. I'm not really one for boxing films, but I thought the fight scenes in this were intense and very well choreographed.
A Cat in Paris was a nice little film - a little over an hour in length - with great visual style and a jazzy score, about a cat, a cat burglar, and a little girl who get caught up the police investigation of a crime lord.
The Grey - It's like Flight of the Phoenix set in the Alaskan tundra with killer wolves. Cool. It's an intensely grim film with some grisly death scenes and chilling atmosphere.
Let's Make Love stars the lovely Marilyn Monroe as a stage actress who falls in love with a billionaire who is pretending to be a down on his luck actor in order to get close to her. It's a nice film, but not Monroe's best by any stretch.
