Wasn't there a PSVR trailer/video with more than 1:1??
Again with this?
Sigh, let me get the quotes again.
"The reason we called it Gran Turismo Sport was that we really wanted to incorporate the FIA events," explained Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi.
"Thinking about it now, yeah, we could have called it Gran Turismo 7. But it's got so many features, we wanted it to be different."
GT SPORT is a regular title of the GT Series. The gaming contents is so ample that you can consider it as Gran Turismo 7. It is titled GT Sport because the Sport Mode of the game is important. If I have to change a statement, maybe Gran Turismo 7 Sport is more correct name.
If the full release performs anything like the beta did, you're in for a treat.
it's coming out in a month, but it doesn't feel like there's much hype around it.
What is campaign mode usually like in GT games?
I was thinking of making this my first Gran Turismo, but now I'm not so sure.
It also has no proper Career mode, which is a staple of the GT series.
Lacking single player content = Pass
I'll get Project Cars 2 and or The Crew 2 for my driving fix
Hopefully Sony learnt their lesson not to skimp on single player content next time and add it all back in GT 8

PS Plus will only be needed for the online multiplayer, portions of the Arcade Mode, including limited two-player split screen, single player races on select tracks and time trials can still be played offline
Hot garbage.single player races on select tracks and time trials can still be played offline

Hot garbage.
Odd statement indeed. No way they'll lock you out of a track though.
Yeah I'm not being critical of what it has to offer, it sounds good. But GT was built around the career mode, I'd definitely say it's the core appeal, or at least for many. So for me this isn't a proper GTIt has no offline career mode. The online will essentially be a race calendar with tiered events, specialist races, and invitationals.
Please let's stop with this crap. The single player component is basically just the GT Academy thing. Hardly what I expected when they first announced the campaign mode.
(plus this from the very same May 2016 event: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...ure-single-player-career-events-races.346416/ )
I just wanted Jazz and Cups..
Next time I guess.
Why word it that way if they really mean that all (downloaded/purchased) tracks are available all the time when off-line? Why lock out "select" tracks for on-line only? This is insane.
I'd like to know if "matchmaking" for online races, apart the values stated in the OP, takes in consideration if the user is using a recing wheel or gamepad.
I rarely have the time to plug the racing wheel these days and i would like to avoid to be put ad disadvantage for this.
I know it is a different game, but Driveclub actually played better with a pad in my experience. Maybe they compensate so there is no disadvantage in GT.
Yes! Give me the Japanese piano jazz, a shitty 1992 Honda Civic, and a Sunday Cup.
Hard Pass on GT Sport for me.
Damn, wtf are PD thinking releasing that Single player mode 4 years into the PS4 life cycle? I'd rather a GT6 port at this point.
As you said, Driveclub is not a fitting example. GT sport beta changes a lot when driven witht a decent wheel, in my opinion, expecially with the more powerful cars, it's much more easer ( and fastest ).
The text says it is not.Is Playstation Plus needed in order to play split-screen? Is that correct?
The campaign mode this year is way bigger than previous GT.
In order to ensure fair racing for all, GT Sport will require an internet connection for the majority of functionality. This connectivity requirement is to ensure that progress, car availability and driver ratings are properly maintained at all times.
This doesnt mean youll need PlayStation Plus though. As with all PlayStation titles, PS Plus will only be needed for the online multiplayer, portions of the Arcade Mode, including limited two-player split screen, single player races on select tracks and time trials can still be played offline.
Oh, I'm not saying it won't work, I'm just amused at it being a selling point in this list.
Like, yeah, I'd certainly *hope* your matchmaking is good, as I would any other online game.

It says portions because Arcade two-players online you can't play without Plus.

Good to read about the campaign mode. More racing games should have campaigns.
I would really like for them to stop calling it Campaign mode. I can respect that they want to shift the focus of the franchise, it's their money, their game.
What I don't like is being lied to, and calling that a campaign is lying unless you've never played a GT before. It's like, instead of addressing the elephant in the room, they choose to cover it. It's still there, we can see it guys, stop pretending.
And this post being official brings down any remaining hope that I could have of a surprise announcement at TGS.
