i saw an ad for this game on a nyc taxi today. it was weird because the game wont be out for about 3 months, also because that just doesnt seem like a game that would reach the mainstream so why advertise it like it?

There was actually some advertising done for the game in some places about a month before launch, before it was confirmed to have been delayed. That one you saw was probably left over from this.
