From the upcoming game Tsuki ni saraba (directed by the Suikoden guy comes out 2/24).

Yasunori is doing half the tracks, so half the samples are his.

Nothing sticks out much, but it's not bad either IMO. Could be a good album. Mitsuda also updated his schedule for the year:

-Feb 25th the Pyuguru mini-album is coming out. This was the terrible 3 min ep anime show he did music for. Probably a mini-album because he didn't need to write much for a bunch of 3 min eps.

--In April he's putting out an album with Kato Masato (he worked with him on the cellphone game Deep Laybrinth [coming to DS!]).

--A Chrono Cross arrange album in July

Overall a nice amount of output from him, especially after he put out the wonderful Niwa no Hako last September. Now he just needs to get involved with a big name rpg for late 2004/2005 :P

Hako no Niwa is basically in the style of all the happy songs from Xenogears.

Tsugunai (the an cinniuint album) and Sailing the world are closer to his Irish stuff.

What? But Masato Kato just worked on the game as scenerio writer/director(?), not the music...

Ah I guess it's just a concept album then. Kato is probably working on themes/world and character concept and lyrics while Mitsuda composes and it'll be a self-contained story-ish album. Popular idea lately.

Chrono Cross arrange album! Yes please!!!!

Wasn't there supposed to be one, to celebrate that game's 5th anniversary (and Trigger's 10th)?

At least I still have the Xenogears arranged album. Also, since I never played it; is the Xenosaga soundtrack worth hunting down? I've heard mixed reviews.

Yeah, and it's listed on that page.

The planned release date is sometime during July 05. Can't wait!

As for the XS soundtrack, yes, it is worth hunting down. Some people were disappointed with the more movie-like orchestral tone it took, but it's still fantastic. Give it a try!

edit - Listened to the samples above and I really like them! I love the jazzy sound, sort of reminds me of a few Sonic Adventure tunes. Can't wait for it!
