They lowered the output res, and this is precisely what I was worried about when I heard they're working on a PSSR2 patch.

I dont see any difference
So no 4k output anymore?
But it probably has better framerate.
Most likely, as if anyone has ever asked..
Reminds me of Cyberpunk output drop from 4k to 1800p around that PL expansion - it was bad.
Which mode are the comparisons from? Performance mode with PSSR was very unstable with framerates often dropping even below the VRR range as the mode was probably optimised for just TAA. If they stabilised it by dropping output res, that's still a win as far as I'm concerned.

Looking at the original video, I'm not sure this is sufficient evidence to tell the output resolution has changed. The whole screen, especially distant objects, is pulsing with compression artifacts, so it's going to depend on which frame was picked. I can see the difference OP is pointing, but these are screenshots of a youtube video at suboptimal quality. Would wait for analysis on direct feed with pixel counts. So no 4k output anymore?

When DF tested the original Pro patch it couldn't hold 60 fps at 864p. Back then I speculated that PSSR might have a 0.4x render scale lower limit since many games had that as the internal res. Wonder if it's something lower like 720p internal res now?

Am I blind, or is the toggle perform better ?
How the hell can Ubisoft fuck up something that was fine with a friggin toggle lol.
Seriously, is this where we have gotten to in gaming today? Zooming in and looking to see what image looks slightly blurrier or not? How about we focus on whether the game is good or not? Does it control well? Does the game hold your attention all the way through? Why are we zooming in to see differences no one would ever fucking notice sitting down at a TV playing the game whilst NOT pausing it to see any discernable differences from one patch to another? Digital Foundry has made people go fucking crazy.
