Acclaim may be dead and gone, but the company's name is not yet forgotten. New York Newsday is reporting today that a tentative agreement has been reached between the trustee for the late company and Central Investment Holdings to sell the rights to the Acclaim Entertainment name for $100,000.

The report also mentioned tentative deals to sell rights for the Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX series and ATV Quad Power Racing 2 to Crave Entertainment for a total of $120,000. All of these deals should stand unless there is a higher bidder for any of these properties in the next few weeks. Neither Central Investment Holdings nor Crave has announced plans for the properties at stake, should they ultimately wind up with them. Crave representatives were not immediately available for comment Wednesday morning.

Previous bankruptcy sell-offs for Acclaim include the street racing game Juiced, which THQ picked up in a bidding war for $10.5 million and released last month, and the company's own headquarters, which Newsday reports fetched $8.5 million.

Did those people even look at what the Acclaim brand produced in the past?... not to mention that they went under for a reason. Or did they just look up "acclaim" in the dictionary and saw that it was a good thing?

I still remember reading that Acclaim stock market message board and seeing people say Turok is going to be the best selling game of the fall :lol

It was the best place to work ever.
If that place comes back, I'm back on board.

*pours a 40 out for fallen homies*
So you're saying a fun place to work = company folding and a shitty place to work = company making lots of $? :P
