This is really sad and messed up.
The reason why it's so messed up is obvious, but the reason why it's so sad is that every time actual stories of racism happen, the general populace's attitude moves slightly to seeing that racism really happens a lot (even if there is the usual outcry from some people).
But when things like this happen, it's like a massive fuel dose for those not willing to accept that racism really is a big issue. People who haven't really made up their mind but are still skeptical for whatever reason can easily be turned to the wrong side too by single stories like this. It's really sad.
This is of course a bit of a simplification, but that's how I largely see it.
Unless s/he got banned for posting in another thread (Which I don't think is the case, unless s/he got banned in the Dangonropa thread.), it seemed like s/he was saying that people shouldn't judge until they had both sides of the situation while you jumped to conclusions.
In fact this:
was their last post before they got banned. I don't see how you could be any more sensible and objective. I also don't see how this thread is "Unrelated" considering it is the same thread they got banned in.
And PMing a Mod would be a complete waste of time. They were the ones who were unreasonable in the first place. I'm sure PMing them and telling them that they banned people for absolutely no reason will really do a lot of good.
This topic jumped to 14 pages in less then a day and a half. Check in at noon tomorrow and see if there is another 14 pages here. I'm sure everyone from the first 14 pages will be dying to come back and admit they were wrong. There will be some, but most of them will ignore this thread until it goes away and pretend like it never happened.
As a warning, talking about moderation publicly isn't allowed. There's a reason for that (and it's very practical and not only to shut down all criticism towards the moderation). I'm not saying this to backseat mod, but to give you a fair warning.
You can and absolutely should PM to mods if you feel like talking about moderation. You can even PM to multiple mods if you feel like it. They will talk with you if you bother to talk with them. Plenty of people have done that when there's been controversial topics. Even Bish is happy to talk about moderation issues. Of course, that applies only if you PM to them and make your case well instead of screaming to them how the moderation is messed up. Mods do recognize that they're not perfect but just human and they make mistakes. They have also apologized at times.
If you take the passive aggressive stance that it would just be bad to PM them and instead choose to talk about their decisions here like that, it's very possible you'll just get banned.
