Adam Lanza hates ice cream

Well, I agree with him. Didn't know who he was when I read this segment.
Now that I know, should I change my opinion? Don't know about that...

I hate how life-apologists say ‘Life isn’t all suffering. What about the simple pleasures, like eating ice cream?' They always use that example. Even if I didn’t recognize the flaws in their assertion, when I think of ice cream, I can only see a repugnant lump of pus crushed out of cows’ bloody nipples, who spend their entire lives confined in filth, where they’re periodically raped so that they’re incessantly pregnant… I always ride the pessimism train down different tracks until it inevitably leads me to contemplating over 500 million years of animals cannibalizing each other. Excuse me for not being thrilled by the extra jimmies on my ice cream cone.

No sarcasm at all when I say this reads exactly like a lot of other stuff I've read on Internet forums. That spooks me.

Man who writes a book about Sandy Hook writes an article about Adam Lanza.

Perhaps most troubling of all was that this severely mentally ill young man, obsessed with violence and surrounded by automatic weapons, who had cut out almost everyone he cared about, made all these terrifying posts on a public forum.

No one said anything, and no one tried to stop him.

Maybe because it's wasn't a "mass-killer website" as you put it, but just a fan-forum for a shitty video game made in poor taste

Well the answer isn't to totally ignore mass killers and pretend they never existed, because the topic of their psyche and what pushed them off the deep end is worth studying, and indeed must be studied. The problem comes when you get a situation like the Aurora shooter (Holmes), where the media basically reported on him like he was a bad-ass Batman villain. My memory is a bit foggy, but weren't they literally calling him The Joker for a while? THAT is exactly what these pricks want.

Not only that but he wasn't surrounded by automatic weapons, unless he considers playing video games being surrounded by them. That book is definitely sensationalist.

I believe there were rumors that he yelled out "I am the Joker!" before carrying out the attacks.

Yeah the whole media's coverage of that shooting was stupid as hell. Made me really uneasy.

Really you're not alone. It's the reason everyone else clicked the thread, too, even if all they leave is a dismissive response. Tragedy is compelling, there's no way around it. And yeah, that kind of thinking probably does lead to more mass-murdering fame seekers, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to know more about Adam Lanza. I have the luxury of having enough distance from the tragedy to be able to be curious about it instead of entirely repulsed.

You're being awfully presumptuous there, as multiple others have already stated I too had no idea who the thread was about as I didn't realize this was the Sandy Hook shooter. Sure I heard or saw his name in relation to the incident at the time but as it wasn't the name of someone I wanted to remember I just as quickly forgot it.

Obviously if you has no idea who he was prior to clicking the thread my comment doesn't apply to you.

I'm not sure what's more delicious: chocolate ice cream, or the irony of everyone saying "who cares" and thereby bumping this topic.

Who really cares? Fuck him.

I don't think it's completely pointless to study these kind of people, to find out what makes them tick. We clearly have an issue in the United States with violence (and the perpetrators always having similar M.O.s). Mental health is something often ignored in this country, but putting more time and funding into it, could probably go a long way to cut down on these sort of things from happening.

I don't really buy into the argument of just throwing them into black and white categories, and that's that. He's a killer, that's all there is to it. He's evil etc. Yes, those are all true. But it's important to figure out why they are this why, or how they came to be this way.

Ice cream makes me pooh. And my stomach hurt. I think it gave me herpes.

Shh, don't try to start a discussion about anything relevant here. It's a lot easier to talk about what a fucking fuck this fucker is.

Love to get these at the store.

Absolutely perfect serving size. In a cone, I'm more of a chocolate chip mint or rocky road kind of guy. Neopolitan isn't too shabby either, and neither is orange sherbet.

This. Though I am kind of glad that I mistook his name for a celebrity.

Actually, this Lanza guy seems completely uninteresting. Just your typical young male misanthrope. Not too different from many of the posters on GAF, Reddit, 4chan, etc. Not too different from me at times for that matter.

I imagine what actually pushed him over the edge was a combination of mental illness and a lack of support. Otherwise he probably would've grown past it eventually.

Those poor little kids though. What a tragedy.
