Adam Lanza hates ice cream

I was confused and picturing Adam Lambert from American Idol saying that. Lol i totally forgot the name of the sandy hook shooter. I guess that's a good thing

I think most of us don't even remember his name. This is a really good thing. (add me to the camp that thought this was about some shitty pop singer and his disdain of one of life's most insidious treats)

And life is brootal brah, saddle up and ride or gtfo. We suck nipple puss 'round these parts

well i guess he's really entitled to his really relevant and extremely important opinions, and the right to defend them with his life or something.

Been waiting for more to surface about him. Between this and the radio interview, a sad and interesting portrait is developing. Feel like there's an online presence that reaches further than we've seen. Guy seems too articulate and calculated in his thought process to have been without any form of contact (in his case over the internet).

Sorry if I'm 'part of the problem' but Lanza is an enigma that I want to see demystified at some point.

The rabbit hole ain't too deep. This is a decent read. After reading you'll see that someone else in this thread already summed it up. He found himself socially and mentally on the wrong side of the tracks in life, and instead of him or his mother getting help, he fed his own misinterpretations of reality to an unhealthy level. Believe it or not, there's potential to be monsters to the infinite degree inside of all of us. That's why getting help is important if you need it.

He is a lesson in the degradation of human life in spite of, and, in part due to a high intelligence combined with a lack of other basic things, IMO

"Even if I didn’t recognize the flaws in their assertion..."

That's great.

Sounds like a gaffer.

Really you're not alone. It's the reason everyone else clicked the thread, too, even if all they leave is a dismissive response. Tragedy is compelling, there's no way around it. And yeah, that kind of thinking probably does lead to more mass-murdering fame seekers, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to know more about Adam Lanza. I have the luxury of having enough distance from the tragedy to be able to be curious about it instead of entirely repulsed.

Sounds like a gaffer.

No, it doesn't.

I sound nothing like that. Even if you are like most sheep who like to think "lol GAF", I'd hope that you would at least have the mental fortitude to keep such inane verbal vomit from dribbling from your lips.

It's amazing what kind of human drek is oozing from our high schools. Someone should do something about that.

I see what you did there. I like it!

From the article:

Enculturing human children is already terrifying enough, but enculturing other apes is something out of the cruelest nightmare. I don't know of anything more worthy of crying over. Rest in peace, little buddy. You're free from the rape of civilization now.

Jesus Christ.

too late. After all the attention this zilch has gotten, you can bet at least one of the psychos that saw this will now try to go out with a bang before dying instead of just hanging themselves in a lonely basement like they did in the past.

Ugh, he's doing even more damage by saying this. Now the idiots will use this psychopath as an example for why "it's fucked up to care about animals as much as humans."

I am not alone. I thought the same thing. I was like; 'Whoa, that's pretty dark for him, wtf prompted this?"

Who? That name doesn't ring a bell.

Eh, probably just some nobody singer or something.

man I really thought it was this guy

For all the terrible stuff he did--and believe me, I have no respect for the guy--some of the stuff he says is worth reflecting on. People who do horrible things are a product of the world they grow up in. I don't mean that like "oh he was so intelligent." I just mean it's helpful to get into the minds of these people and see how it might come back to us.

The lazy man's answer is to point fingers at mental illness or violent video games or whatever else.

Yeah, gosh, think of all the horrible stuff that humans have done throughout history. Clearly the right answer is for us to just hide from it with dismissive one-liners and never try to study or solve the problems that led to the tragedies we've created.

Being curious is the right response.

The social isolation this kid was put through by his Mom pulling him out of school, and the social isolation he continued on his own is just scary. When you can't enjoy even the simple things in life, (the sunlight, food, movies, finding friends, etc.,), it's just a big warning sign that something is wrong and might lead to a downward spiral if not confronted. His Mom takes him off medication, does not comply or follow-up with doctors trying to help him. What's sad is that no one in his family stepped in to encourage Lanza to be a part of life, a social circle. or at least be close enough to him and recognize this kid really had a problem.

Lanza had choices, and he chose to cut himself off from people and life itself, then again maybe his Mom forbade him to have social interactions with people or had too much control over what he did - that's not clear. It seemed like he could do what he wanted in the house they shared. He was free to roam the world, unlike the monkey he compares himself to in that article, who was locked up and eventually snapped. These mass shooters have one thing in common, they want to be seen as superior, when they see themselves as just ordinary and/or inferior.

Thank god this "immoral value system" that Lanza loathed which makes up society has boobies (no offense ladies - just my preference), ice cream, chocolate, fried chicken, Marvel, blu-rays, video games, movies, music. dancing, the changing seasons, the beauty of nature, Game of Thrones, Vikings, UFC, beer, whiskey, weed, roaring warm fires, and a cute women on a sheepskin rug smoking weed in front of that roaring warm fire.....and the freedom to experience and/or create all of this stuff and grab a passport and travel to see what the rest of the world offers. He was so delusional in thinking that society frowns upon all of what I just mentioned...well some parts frown on some of it. I think this kid made himself a monkey in a locked cage because it seemed like he got off on it. This whole comparison he makes of himself to a caged monkey is fucked - he was free all along except from his own mind. Adam Lanza hated every molecule on planet Earth.

Then again, what do I know? Some people can't be helped, they can only get help themselves. This guy made bizarre justifications about life and turned into a pussy unable to deal with his future when he took the lives of children (and other adults) who had their own future ahead of them.

what this idiot thinks.

He also sounds like one of those morons who thinks if he uses big words and tries to pretend that he's smart, that he is smart and better than every one else.

He definitely sympathized with the chimp. Sad. I can understand his point to a degree, that we all too often condition kids to be a certain way 'just because' without giving it a second thought, and it often leads to them being unable to cope when they come close to hitting adulthood -- and turns out the be a real and lasting problem that hinders our society as a whole. Hence the overuse of antidepressants and being addicted to sports, entertainment and such as a coping mechanism. Those are all valid criticisms of our modern world and how some have struggled to keep up. However a lot of people have that opinion... people who would never under any circumstances shoot up a school, especially one filled with little kids. He completely lost the plot. If he thought he was doing these kids a favor by 'saving' them, he's a fucking moron. He did nothing. His actions will change absolutely nothing. He let his extreme paranoia take over and deal with his worry, angst and frustration with society in the most ineffective way possible.

Now when he starts talking about ice cream... you can really, really begin to see that something is wrong. Not just because of what his opinion is but how he states it. Ice cream is a much easier thing to use as a means to demonstrate the full extent of your feelings and opinions about the world. With kids you'd have to tread a bit more lightly or people won't take you seriously. He was clearly crazy. He sounds like a fucking robot, no hyperbole.

That doesn't say that he hated it... it's just yet another example of his inability to overcome his ingrained pessimism and nihilism, to which i imagine a lot of people can relate. Err... before he died that is.

That is actually a nice insight. What a waste of intelligence.

If you're talking about Lanza, it's the easiest thing in the world to be a misanthrope. A true sign of intelligence is reconciling the shittiness in the world with the beautiful things and forming an informed perspective. Lanza just wallowed in his own ignorance.

People get so uptight about these topics. If you don't want to know about mass shooters, don't click these threads. Those that do will read about them.

It sounds like he was mentally ill for years, maybe his entire life, and he never got the help he needed.
