Really? I've heard rumblings of this for a while now, and I don't follow CN/AS or anime closely at all.

Well Production IG bought the rights from Gainax a while ago and common speculation was that they were going to remake it. Didn't expect more episodes.

All the people asking why this was needed or that they don't want it don't make much sense to me. When season 2 comes out they'll either like or dislike it.

If you like it then you just got more of that thing you love, if you dislike it then just don't watch, it's not like it'll ruin season 1. That will still be as amazing and nostalgic for you as it ever was.

Hope "original voice cast" includes the dub team too! Or at least just Haruko.

FLCL is one of the few animes where I'd prefer to watch the dub version.

I have an extremely high opinion of FLCL and, frankly, reports of new content (back when the rights were acquired) immediately triggered unbridled hype simmering over a healthy dose of skepticism.

If that quote is accurate, my skepticism disappears.
