I enjoyed what I played on XBOX, but decided to stop due to horrible performance problems.
Visually, Advent Rising is leaps and bounds ahead of the last builds we saw. Gone are the terrible framerates, wildly swinging cameras, and gut-wrenching game-stopping chugs of slowness.

And no I haven't unlocked any powers. I'm very early in the game,I still haven't made it off the ship,I'm at the point where I'm suppose to rescue my fiance. I have to admit I'm not the type to blow through my games though,so you probably finished this area in half the time that I'm attempting to.
I saw some of the craziness that you inflect upon your enemies with the powers you unlock, thats what drew me to buying the game. Your constantly doing wild jumps while throwing enemies around like they were puppets. The review made mention that as good as the game is-that the frame rate is bothersome at times, saying it was one of the only things that made the game not quite what it could have been. We'll see I guess. Does it really drop to the point where its *REALLY BAD* I realize I'm very early in the game, but the frame rate doesn't even bother me,I'm too busy having a great time so far. I mean I've enjoyed games with frame rates issues like Turok2 and ShadowMan,so it would have to be pretty severe for me to come away disapointed.
Gamers who were originally interested in the Xbox release of Advent Rising will immediately want to know if the frame rate issues persist on the PC. Thankfully, the game now runs smoothly without slowdown even on a densely populated battlefield. My Radeon 9800 pro easily pushed the game along at even the higher settings. Effects like the way space is warped around Gideon's surge attack and the fiery sparks of explosions are impressive visual additions.
Angelus said:OK I just saw the video review again. Theres suppose to be glitches bugs and glitches along the game but the reviewer claims that theyre not awful, they just seem to happen sometimes. maybe I'm too tolerant but thats ok with me. As long as I can reload a starting point and it doesnt occur again in this area(and thats what the reviewer claims ) then I'm still still as optimistic as ever about spending time with the game.![]()
So if I was capable of enjoying Turok2 and Shadow Man I'm set with this game thern, awesomeIt really doesn't seem an issue,I saw some of the issues with the frame rate in the review and I was ok with what I saw. The game looks to pack quite an adventure too-the reviewer said the areas you play in were pretty expansive?
I hope I'm not getting carried away here but man I'm starting to think there is alot more meat on this game than I thought there was,I freakin' love huge stages to travel through. I'm not expecting Turok 2 type stages in size (those were rdiculus yet fun.) Have you beaten the game? If so what was your play time?
Whoa whoa WHOA!!!!!!!Ghost said:I guess it's easy to fix imaginary bugs.
Play this game. rent it if you want, just make sure you play it. Dont believe the anti-hype.
