Switch 2 launch line up is bizarre.
Not sure if calling it a lineup makes sense when its practically just 1 game.
Never seen a console launch like this.
For being the spirit of gaming.damn he got banned? for what?? (besides telling the truth)
I mean, it doesn't have to be exclusive. How many exclusives did Xbox Series launch with?
The problem now is that this isn't a guarantee at least price wise.the expert tactic was always to wait until the price dropped and all the initial console shenanigans are ironed out with a new SKU, That's always been my plan for the S2 at least.
but early adopter syndrome kicks in with any new console, S2 is hardly the first console to release with little to nothing new or interesting.
it just doesn't help that the console itself feels more like mobile upgrade than a new generation.
I mean, it doesn't have to be exclusive.
Any new game launching in 2020 holidays with a strong Series X / PS5 version would count as legit launch title you can get for the system.
I did got system at launch and there was a ton of new / shiny stuff. There isn't much new stuff for Switch 2.
Shhhhhh exclusives either greatly matter or don't matter at all depending on whether Xbox is doing them or not.How many exclusives did Xbox Series launch with?

You are right, but like you say it's region dependant for sure. The problem now is that this isn't a guarantee at least price wise.
Switch never dropped price (you could say it actually went up $50 because why the fuck would you buy a regular over OLED?). PlayStation 5 either stayed the same price after 5 years or went up depending on region and Xbox Series went up in year 5.
Part of the reason I got a SW2 at launch was I don't trust the price to not go up. Unfortunately we're past the times where consoles dropped to half or even a third of the price by end of life.
You could be ok with this launch. But it could have been much better if say Clair Obscure and Split Fiction versions Switch 2 versions launched with it. I mean, anyone who picked Switch 2 at launch, what exactly are they playing on it?Because I have to spell it out for you.
Xbox Series launched with 0 exclusives, so it's odd when you call out Switch 2 for only having 1 exclusive.
By the way Switch 2 launched with another 24 games.
Your initial post makes zero sense and smacks of hypocrisy.
No shit. What did you expect when you bought a brand new console that's equivalent to hardware released in 2013 (PS4).? Why by the way, is Nintendo's MO after the GameCube. Starting with the Wii they've been 3 generations behind. And you want to compare it to Steam deck? There is zero comparison. Hardware wise. After playing Switch 2 for a week it made me realize how great the Steam Deck is.
On the hardware side, the OLED screen Steam Deck pummels the Switch 2. I remember hearing in previews that the Switch 2 screen was great but I strongly disagree with that due to noticeable ghosting and washed out picture. I like the concept of Joy Cons (the way they attach magnetically is awesome), but they are still uncomfortable to use and the lack of dpad makes some games unplayable IMO. I refuse to use the analog stick for 2D games like a filthy casual. The Steam Deck is just so much more comfortable to hold.
On the software side its usual woes of console gaming. Yes, the Switch has an amazing catalog of games. Unfortunately many of them are handicapped with crappy settings that require a developer to update. That means we're left to beg online and wonder if/when a patch will come for these games. All so they don't look like ass.
Take Dave the Diver for example, great game... locked at 30fps until the dev updates it. People are left to beg for a patch. Now do that with the majority of your Switch library. Disgusting.

I dunno man. I won't call it buyers remorse but I'm feeling a little unenthused. Anyone with me?
I still have no idea why Nintendo won't put a proper d-pad on the thing. Surely the utility of that would trump using the controller on its side for two player local co-op games, which lets face it is the kind of bullshit that only happens in an ad.
Really? Because in most metrics the OLED screen is superior. Higher brightness, superior colour gamut, and significantly better motion clarity. The Switch 2 has a slightly larger screen, higher resolution, and VRR. The OLED still looks superior in most use cases. This is just a comment on the screen quality, not the devices themselves. On the other side, there is no freaking way i'm choosing this oled 800p lowres screen over a 120hz 1080p vrr + hdr + bigger inch screen as my current steam deck one. No Freaking Way

I was ok with Xbox / PS5 launch mostly cause 3rd party support was in full.

Except I can play most of those games on my PS5. Me and most people get Nintendo systems because it has games that you can't get anywhere else.
I have PS5 for multiplatform games and I have Switch 2 for first and 3rd party exclusives.
That wasn't the point though. You don't get Nintendo games on Steam Deck.Even if you add in a PS5, PC still has more exclusives on it than Switch 2, even with Switch 1's backwards compatibility. So it's still not wrong you'd have far more games to pick form with a Deck than Switch 2 + PS5.
That wasn't the point though. You don't get Nintendo games on Steam Deck.Danjin44 wants to play Nintendo titles.
I'm actually also playing Street Fighter 6, No Man's Sky (basically a remaster on Switch 2) and Hogwarts Legacy.I'm playing the same thing I'm pretty sure almost everyone else is playing. Mario Kart, Zelda upgrade pack, and trying out a variety of Switch 1 games while waiting desperately for something else to come out like it's the middle of 1997, even though really the system just came out a few weeks ago. It does have Split Fiction BTW
It's been 11 days the console launched. How long did we have to wait for having next-gen patches for PS5/Xbox ?I've been loving the native games, but yeah it's a bit underwhelming that a lot of games are stuck to low res or worse capped 30FPS because of Switch 1, it's makes the Deck a better machine to play for the vast majority of games released in the last 8 years.
Mostly the way he was telling said truthdamn he got banned? for what?? (besides telling the truth)
Depends on game obviously, but not only did you have more 60FPS on launch but also more announced upgrades, with Switch 2 seems like there is no communication about it at the moment. It's been 11 days the console launched. How long did we have to wait for having next-gen patches for PS5/Xbox ?
You mean minus the ones already confirmed getting an update or already updated ?Depends on game obviously, but not only did you have more 60FPS on launch but also more announced upgrades, with Switch 2 seems like there is no communication about it at the moment.
11 days is not an excuse to at least announce some of them.
What? It's true except if you have fanboy glasses or don't owned them…
Yes more than the current 16 out a library of thousands, Xbox Series had 31 at launch with another 12 announced on a platform which debatably needed upgrades on a much lesser scale that Switch 1 games. You mean minus the ones already confirmed getting an update or already updated ?

Performance is part of equation IMO so yeah it sucks but it's convenient to play on the goDeck may suck in performance and resolution, but in graphics it doesn't suck.
I don't take dismissive questions like that seriously. Obviously I'll fire up the Switch to play MKW if I get the urge, but that won't fix the lackluster screen, bad ergonomics, limited BC upgrades, etc.Ogbert who asked the OP how he likes to play MKW on the Deck
Pretty much. Steam has a ton of indies that aren't on consoles. I can play classics like Sleeping Dogs or something newer like Stellar Blade. There's endless options. Steam Deck isn't perfect, but the positives far outweigh the negatives IMO.To which I said maybe he prefers to play games not on the Switch 2 on the Deck, like Stellar Blade.
I'm actually also playing Street Fighter 6, No Man's Sky (basically a remaster on Switch 2) and Hogwarts Legacy.
There's tons of other games to get/play that aren't just Switch 1 games. If anything there's just too much to play at this point.
Well that's obvious since Switch 2 just came out, but Switch 2 has Nintendo games that I don't want to miss out.Even if you add in a PS5, PC still has more exclusives on it than Switch 2, even with Switch 1's backwards compatibility. So it's still not wrong you'd have far more games to pick form with a Deck than Switch 2 + PS5.
the upside is when the Steam Deck 2 eventually launches, you won't have to wait for patches for most games to be playable at 60fps or higherAgain, I don't care about you specifically. Other people are happy to play at 30fps on the deck. This exchange has been completely pointless.
Yes because consoles and PCs are not new concepts. So you're just illustrating the difference between playing on a console (convenience, 1st party game libary, ease of use) vs PC (customization, tweaking, modding).
Not exactly groundbreaking stuff.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the constant updates the Steam Deck itself, the games' launchers and the games themselves requires and all the time and space it can take. And that the battery drains itself pretty fast even when not using it.On the software side its usual woes of console gaming. Yes, the Switch has an amazing catalog of games. Unfortunately many of them are handicapped with crappy settings that require a developer to update.
Can't say I've ever had a 30 minute wait to play a game on Steam Deck. Have you encountered thisand after 30 minutes I managed to launch a game.
I tried to launch GTA IV, everytime there are updates of the game and the launcher, and the Rockstar launcher is terrible, especially on the deck. Can't say I've ever had a 30 minute wait to play a game on Steam Deck. Have you encountered thisBennyBlanco ? I know you use your Deck regularly.
I've never been forced to update the system to play or game, nor has the process taking all that long. No clue what launcher updates you're talking about tbh.
Games update on all platforms these days. Not exclusive to Steam.
You know what's funny? The honeymoon period of the Switch 2 is over with. People are now starting to come out and speak frankly about the truth that Nintendo's long rumored Switch Pro was renamed to Switch 2. It's not a new console as much as it is just a hardware refresh. Sure it runs games better than Switch, but at the end of the day, it's no more fun than its predecessor.
It`s all automatic and if it took 30 minutes for you, your internet is crap. Which launchers keeps asking you your password again and again?? This rarely happens here.I'm surprised you didn't mention the constant updates the Steam Deck itself, the games' launchers and the games themselves requires and all the time and space it can take. And that the battery drains itself pretty fast even when not using it.
Last time I tried to boot a game on my Steam Deck after leaving it for a week, I had several Steam OS updates, then games updates, launchers updates, launchers asking me my password again (despite clicking on the "remember me/don't ask again" stuff, and after 30 minutes I managed to launch a game. And that's the usual woes of PC gaming.
