jez is going to cry
So how do you play AoE in console? Never tried strategy on consoles before.
consoles have mkb support nowSo how do you play AoE in console? Never tried strategy on consoles before.
Requires the developer to put effort into revamping the UI to work with controller. Age of Empire 2 worked really well on controller. So how do you play AoE in console? Never tried strategy on consoles before.
You can plug in a M&KB.

People mentioned kb+m here, but it plays surprisingly well on a controller too. Radial menus, etc.So how do you play AoE in console? Never tried strategy on consoles before.
Playstation had mkb support since PS3consoles have mkb support now
But with a controller is any good?

Never played AoE on consoles, but I have played both halo wars 1&2 on Xbox with controller and it was awesome. It all depends how controller mapping is done. But playing RTS with gamepad instead of kb+m is possible and can be very good experience. So how do you play AoE in console? Never tried strategy on consoles before.

yep, after all the PS2 had FFXI and EverQuest Online AdventuresPlayStation 2 had mouse and keyboard support, too.

Pretty sure it's considered to have one of, if not the best controller implementations for a strategy gameRequires the developer to put effort into revamping the UI to work with controller. Age of Empire 2 worked really well on controller.

Shouldn’t be much different to the Two Point games which work incredibly well on a controller. So how do you play AoE in console? Never tried strategy on consoles before.
Probably because it played great on controller. I do admint, finishing all AoE and AoM games on PC with kn+m combo.Halo wars are RTS games designed around controllers/consoles though, so they are significantly simplified in comparison to other RTS games.
But what games support mkb on playstation? Only ever played UT3 on PS3, don’t know of any PS4/5 games with mkb support.Playstation had mkb support since PS3
Personally, I know of UT3 on PS3 and FFXIV from PS3 up to now.But what games support mkb on playstation? Only ever played UT3 on PS3, don’t know of any PS4/5 games with mkb support.
I know Red Alert 3 didn’t have mkb support fore some reason. I guess the devs where really proud of their control scheme, which admittedly was pretty good. Still a strange omission, really wish there would be mkb supported RTS games on console, it’s the one PC exclusive genre I’m really into.Personally, I know of UT3 on PS3 and FFXIV from PS3 up to now.
Don't Predecessor and Throne and Liberty support kbm?
There are more this gen, at least. Hunt Showdown as well, maybe? Not at home, so can't check rn.
Probably some other games, but it was up to the devs.
The option was there though, even back on PS2 apparently.
Idc for RTS, personally, but I would love to be able to play Warhammer Total War on Playstation.I know Red Alert 3 didn’t have mkb support fore some reason. Yeah me too! My PC would blow up trying to play Total Warhammer III, a PS5 port would be very welcome indeed.Idc for RTS, personally, but I would love to be able to play Warhammer Total War on Playstation.
Was a massive tabletop Warhammer Fantasy nerd when I was a teen.
More support for mkb on consoles would always be good anyway, imo.
But with a controller is any good?
Gonna be honest for me nothing beats mk but I play all the time age of empires on series x with gamepad and is still works amazing for me.Curious to see how an RTS like Age of Empires II plays on a DualSense (any controller, really). Partly because my first RTS experiences were Command & Conquer and StarCraft 64 on the Nintendo 64. This console was a weird gateway to several PC games that I would play in their original forms later.
Not an optimal way to play those games at all, but they did work.
