Man, this one encounter for the side quest lasted forever.
That figure cosplay one had like a bigger group, but then a bunch of Synthisters kept coming.
Just as I managed to take down 1 another 1 or 2 came in its place.
Tohko was gone from like the beginning too.

I think I had to face like 20 enemies before it finally ended.

Are you enjoying the game more now that you're further in?

I see a lot of certain people in a lot of threads of games that I adore here. Is this worth buying? I'm a big fan of quirk.

What type of "quirk" do you like exactly?

Akiba's Trip is a wacky beat 'em up with RPG and VN elements, where you scamper around a faithful digital recreation of Akibahara, fighting vampires and disgruntled citizens by pummeling them with a variety of outlandish weapons and then ripping their clothes off, in which case, the vampires explode, and the citizens scurry away with flushed faces. Add to this equal opportunity fanservice, tons of sidequest and a plethora of customizable features.

Does that sound appealing to you?

Time to buy the shit out of this game

So, my game seemingly froze for no reason. I got a black screen and blue light kept blinking. I reset the system, tried playing it again, and when I start it up it says network features are disabled, the loading thing in the bottom corner pops up and then disappears and the screen stays black. Has this happened to anybody else or is this maybe just a messed up copy I got? Or at the very least any idea on what the cause of the whole network features thing being disabled is?

This game doesn't have any online components. (Unless you imported the PS4 version.)

Maybe it's your system.

Yep! PS4 version runs silky smooth. The only potential trip-up there for videophiles is that it runs at 30fps instead of 60fps -- but this was done in order to populate the streets with an absolutely ludicrous number of people to make it feel more authentic to the experience of actually being in Akihabara (without causing the game's framerate to stutter in the process), and Acquire apparently used some form of "between-frame processing" (their words, translated) to simulate 60fps.

...Which worked on us, as we all thought the game was legit 60fps until we were told otherwise. ;)

-Tom

So they used motion interpolation... sounds good. I guess I'll be waiting for the PS4 version, and living in Europe means a longer wait, but I think it'll be worth it.

That'd probably explain why the network features were disabled thing pops up. It was the vita version if it makes any difference. But I just deleted it and reinstalled it again and it's working. In any case I'm enjoying what I've got to play of it.

Hopefully it was just a small blip.

Enjoy the game. :)

Just read this about Otaku mode
Otaku mode can be unlocked after you clear the game once on any difficult mode. The enemies hit really hard (~ 2000 damage when you are at level 30+ and have all equipments at 999 strength)[...]

Guess it's going to be much fun.

Really enjoyed what I played yesterday on the Vita. So glad it is dual audio, first thing I did was change the voices to Japanese. Can't wait to play more.

I actually love the English dub. I was expecting it to be cheesy because of how the game is, but no it is actually really good. Also I said this earlier and will say it again, Nana is awesome ahaha.

Her name kinda trips me out though considering that is what I call my Grandmother :p

Played for an hour or so. I really like this. Nice quirky and well written. I am glad to hear its not too long and if i really enjoy it I can new game +. The combat is pretty damn fun and one thing I think it does well is NOT get bogged down by too much dialogue. I mean its part VN, but I never feel like WHEN WILL THE TALKING END. Thumbs up. Next Vita purchase will be SK:VS so gogo xseed.

Zonic

Gives all the fucks
to circumvent this I use the fast travel option. So yes, there is a bit of a loading screen for each area.
Yeah, remember if you hit Select, it doubles as an area select, making it MUCH easier to travel from point A to point B at times, especially some of the side missions. Granted, part of me wants to limit it so I can get those fliers the girls are handing out. Just kind of sucks some of them are duplicates.

All I got for the Vernal Equinox was this stupid tag

This is pretty much how I feel about the game, too. I also love how well Aki has been recreated. As soon as I got outside in the beginning of the game, I recognized the area immediately and it put a smile on my face when I went to see if Yamada Denki was right near the station entrance...and Yamata Denki was there. :)

I got a game over staying faithful to my figurines at the beginning.

That was GREAT.

I actually played so much my Vita almost ran out of battery.

I've had one freeze (ps3) so far and it was loading up the Striprism game back at home base. Wish I could help but I don't know what would cause your particular issue.

Wow, this is one of those games with "hidden depth" to the combat, very much like Lollypop Chainsaw. Sure, you can button mash and the game will seem shallow, but you really have to work at it if you want to get the max strip combo, attacking parts until they are red and then avoiding attacking those parts again until enough is red on everyone that when you start the stripping party, it don't stop until everyone is undressed!

Also, the constant stuttering and music skipping bothers me, but I'm glad to know that is a game wide problem and not just my system or something, so I will just have to love this game despite the technical hiccups.

Beginning to wonder if I should wait for the PS4 (EU) version now and just remote play it. If it's going to be October for Vita here anyway, how much longer could it be? Not long, right?

Right?

Right?

Spent a really fun hour with Akiba's Trip last night. I'm really impressed with the how "otaku" the game is and all the little ads, songs and references it throws at you.

The game also looks bright and colorful and the image quality on the Vita is nice and clean. I've tried both VO options and both are good although I'm going to stick with the JP voives for my first play-through.

So far, two big thumbs up!

There are actually two! One is the Computer Space-looking machine by the MOGRA mural, and the other is one of the table games on the opposite side of the store.

Oh cool found the second mini-game.

Am I to assume there is also a prize waiting for me in clearing both mini-games cause I know I got one from the Not|PreCure one, lol

Been able to play for about four hours now and I'm really loving everything about this game. The quick travel option pretty much got rid of my initial problems with all the load screens and now I'm finally starting to get a good handle on the combat. There is stuttering and it can be kind of jarring at times but it's nothing to really fuss about since I've never had it last more than like half a second. Also, is there specific time limit before a side quest expires? I know they probably expire after a few mainline missions but is there an exact number?

Yeah, if a game is particularly anime-y I generally ignore reviews.

What I'm incredibly surprised by is the quality of the writing and voice acting. Like, did not expect the English to be that good at all. The writing regularly gets a laugh out of me too.

Actually, no. For some reason, that minigame is purely extraneous -- you're literally just playing for a high score. ;)

Thank you for the full-color manual. I still expect those with Japanese imports, but long gave up on NA releases having them. Was a nice surprise.

Man, I'm almost buying this game. I was planning on saving for September but I'm getting pretty interested on what I've seen so far.

Oh that's good to hear. It's a pretty fun mini-game, but I just wasn't sure how much I wanted to keep going at it, lol

Pretty awesome to have hidden things in the game. Makes the world feel really alive.
