There's a trophy for achieving the "little sister ending", so it sounds like she does.....though I wonder if that's just interacting with her enough since I don't know if she can actually become your partner.

The little sister's ending is sort of a unique case -- it's more like an epilogue, or an "ending append." If you manage to complete all of the little sister missions to her satisfaction, you'll get an extra scene after the credits.

so what is the best starting difficulty from someone who knows how to play video games?

Is hard like really hard, or is it reasonable to start on?

Hard is pretty manageable if you know what you're doing. The unlockable fourth difficulty level, on the other hand, will kick your ass. ;)

bad gameplay lol
Tom, how urgent is picking a partner and sticking with them? I'm still right at the beginning, but do I have some time to try them all out and decide which one I prefer without locking myself into/out of a specific ending path?

You naturally will anyway, as some (read: most) story scenes require you to use certain partners (switching partners is more for when you're goofing around or doing side missions).

But yes, you can experiment -- the biggest contributing factor toward affection levels are conversation options, so as long as you're pretty consistent in those, you should be fine.

HOLY CRAP, Di Gi Charat not only is a DLC outfit, but actually in the game at GAMERS as the cashier? Now that's awesome.

Finally got back from a super busy day, and my game is right here *pats* waiting to be played. Really looking forward to digging in later tonight.

So, I asked in the other thread but wasn't successful. The game apparently is 5-15 hours long on the first playthrough, but there are multiple playthroughs, right? So how much could I get if I plan on getting everything (maybe not a Platinum, but every ending and every sidequest)? Thanks in advance.

The game has four branching routes and 9 endings. Tons of items to collect, and 60+ sidequests.

There's a lot to do.

Is the combat any good? How does it compare to something like Kenka Bancho? I really wanted to like that game but the combat just wasn't fun to me.

I'm estimating that the average player will spend about 20-25 hours on this game. Some will spend less, some will spend more (some MUCH more!), but I think 20-25 is a good rough average -- that would account for about 10 hours spent on your first playthrough (doing a reasonable number of side missions, but not all of them), then breezing through the remaining three routes (assuming you skip story scenes you've already seen and do fewer quests each time).

Uh oh, failed the Otaku: Before & After mission. Guess I'll retry.........uh........how do I retry the mission? Do I have to reload a save? I haven't even saved the game yet........do I have to restart just to try again?

So, I've been checking around, and it seems like the delay is Canada wide. Almost nowhere has it yet.

*sigh*

Busting of heads it is, then.

Sorry, man. :(

Some missions are repeatable, but most are once-and-done. If you fail, they're gone forever... so if you haven't saved yet, I'm sorry to say you either need to accept that, or you will indeed need to restart.

Bleh, considering how completionist I can be at times, part of me wants to start over. Though I guess I could do it on another play through.

I guess the lesson is save often & right before doing missions. Just wish I knew to select "I" instead of "You" since I didn't know the selection after that.

I am still at the early stages in the game, but I am getting my ass kicked in the battles on, "Gamer" difficulty.

Any tips on the combat?

Both this and Disgaea 4 will be here on Thursday at the earliest. Shame Alaska doesn't benefit from the whole Free 2-Day shipping of Amazon Prime.

Sorry, man. :(
Thanks.

I've been so hyped for this game, and to still not even have an idea of when I'll get it is really disappointing. I've got my Vita all shined up, new wallpapers, memory card, and everything.

It yearns to be played. :/

Use block, a lot. Spam it. Run away the moment they start getting combos in on you (should you not get your block in to dodge). Never be afraid to run and hold L bumper to regain health if you need to.

Usually I get hits in on them after I spam block and dodge their punches. Throwing a punch after they miss will usually land, then spam combos once it connects. Once a combo is over then they will go back to dodging your attacks. Rinse and repeat the above method. Basically you have to break them dodging your attacks, and you do that by blocking yourself and then landing a punch.

Also use ur charge attack. Sometimes it helps to put distance between you and the attacker then go into them with the charge attack. I find you just have to land the first punch which then allows you to spam a combo.

Edit: I'm doing fine with fighting but I'm not an expert. Hopefully someone that is better can give more tips.

So what happens if I leave Akihabara via the train station? It says some stuff will carry over to the next play through. Would that involve clothing, weapons, & such that I've collected & basically acts like NG+? I'd just start from the beginning of the story w/ no missions completed?

In addition to all this, one thing that's worth noting is that holding the block button helps A LOT for using your charge attack, as it locks you in place and keeps you from accidentally turning around. You'll be able to pull off a perfect charge every time if you hold he block button while doing it.

Yep, pretty much exactly that. It's essentially the "I give up, give me some Clear Data" option. And Clear Data is what's used for New Game+, so this option exists if you want to end the game early, but still keep all the stuff you collected along the way.

-Tom

Got to play a bit at work but now I'm really getting my ass kicked on gamer difficulty I probably need to get a handle on the fighting mechanics and buy some better gear, still loving the game though I thought I'd be switching to Japanese voice overs pretty quickly but the english dub is really good! Gonna be up pretty late tonight playing this!

Oh thank goodness, it was less about having to reach the point of doing said mission since I wasn't very far & more of not wanting to lose the items I collected so far. Plus I can check out the silly answers at the beginning.

Finished up my review and fell in love with the game. Even with +800 gear, the last couple of arena fights are taking their toll on me.

Tom, are you guys gonna put the launch trailer back up? I never got to see it, and I want to post it on my blog.

Am I making a mistake waiting for the ps4 version?
The PS4's additions include faster loading, extra items and graphic mods, and a streaming mode.

If any of these things are important, then you might want to wait. If not, pick it up now! (Or do what I'm probably gonna do, and double dip.)

Oh yeah, I never addressed this:

Not sure why you're saying it's been taken down, because... it hasn't! It's up and playing fine, as far as I can tell.

You may have to be logged in to Facebook in order to get it to play, though.

We'd normally upload the video to our YouTube channel as well, but this trailer features the game's jpop opening theme, and literally ANY upload on YouTube featuring any portion of that song is getting auto-flagged and muted by Sony Music Japan, including our own. We have a request in to have that waived, but until that request goes through, uploading it to our Facebook page for the game was really our only option.

Started playing and yep this is pretty awesome.

I think my favorite part so far is the ads you see in the streets. I thought it would just be at best pictures or rotating images but I was highly impressed that it is literally a trailer for it right down to hearing the original opening or music for it. Acquire really got the whole detail thing down here!

I think the last one stings just a little ;D

I was also surprised to discover a mini-game in the base too.

There are actually two! One is the Computer Space-looking machine by the MOGRA mural, and the other is one of the table games on the opposite side of the store.

Ah, yeah. I don't have Facebook, so I can't see it.

Too bad.
