Aksys is teasing something

Hmm maybe the counter changes every 2 days?

I believe it hasn't changed for more than that,i had the theory that it was infected by radical 6 but don't know now.
Neogaf is well known for discovering difficult teasers and difficult things. We have to do it.

You can solve something if the information is there to solve it.

Well, this is disappointing. Thought it was a sound idea :/

This morning I even tried an idea from Ever17 (won’t spoil if for those who haven’t played it, players will recognize it)

needless to say: It didn’t work with A alone, B alone, A and B overlayed. Something like this probably only works with Kanji. Another possibility eliminated....yeah.....

This so much!

I kind of get the feeling somebody just plastered the words on Paint to the images and we've been needlessly going after those for a while now.

I think we need to change our approach. Maybe we should focus on how many sides each number has, they appear oddly polygonal (they appear as shapes instead of lines as any normal number would, they have distinct sides) and I think there is some sort of secret in there.

Might be the one mentioned earlier, but I was just skimming through the Punchline famitsu interview, and it talks a lot about the expanding overseas audience. Interestingly, it mentions how niche Ever 17's English localisation was, and then goes on to say something about wanting to move to a larger scale.

I'm just going through google translate, so I might be mistaken though. Interview here: http://www.famitsu.com/news/201503/22074413.html

Nakazawa, who he worked with on the Infinity games is also apparently working on the Punchline game.

Just read through the interview, no real news in there. Short summary of the important parts:

Ucikoshi is working with former coworkers, one of them worked with him on Ever17. the interviewer is waiting for Zero3 as well, and Uchikoshi says there's nothing to announce yet. Both the interviewer and Uchikoshi talk about the series' success in the west, how we only refer to the genre as "visual novels" instead of talking about sub-genres (sound novel, etc.) and how different our experience must be because we didn't grow up on Kamaitachi or Machi. He describes the Zero series and Danganronpa as somewhat o f a culture shock to us. When Ever17 was released, the genre was very niche. Now it's become way more popular and he's very happy about that.

Good info, thanks ;o

When nine and nine meet nine, the depths of reason shall stir.
This quote from Type 0 obviously proves this is a ZE3 tease: Uchikoshi sent his consciousness back in 2011 to include this in Type-0, so that he could start teasing ZE3 in 2015 on the same week as the rerelease of Type-0. Of course, this is a blatant reference to the third Nonary game that will occur in ZE3.

I can't see a hole in this.

Thanks.

At the point it came out, I'm not sure I'd call Danganronpa a culture shock, considering that by then we'd had things like Ace Attorney being pretty popular for years, although appreciation for VN's has certainly grown a lot recently, with even pure vn's starting to get console releases.

Regarding the words: Considering that we got them from the source code, there's a good chance that they're not even supposed to show up as separate images. They might be added to the site one word at a time, or both full images at once. In either case, how they're laid out behind the scenes might not have any relevance.

When did he make Type-0?
When nine and nine meet nine... 999, ha :)

I dont know if anyone tried this - but I read somewhere if we look at the two pictures with words on and join them up in a certain way, they make the "Infinity" symbol.

If there really is something then i think that "Novel", or at least its "N", is the starting point, the first word, or letter.

This sounds like the most logical approach if A and B are part of one anagram.

Does anyone know an anagram solving program/site that can process 46 letters. The ones I tried always had a cap of somewhere around 30.

Ever thought about cutting the letters in half in the middle? maybe the backgroundcolors are a hint? sry i just have no idea. i just wish Zero Escape 3 will happen soon.

On another forum (Court Records) I came across these anagram ideas:
If you re arrange the 2nd picture with words on it, you get: 'Snake plans to leave Block P" or "Black Snake envelops plot"

Oh please don't be ridiculous, it wouldn't be that simple...

...oh. my. god.

:P I'm loving all the crazy theories so far. It would be super cruel of Aksys if the didn't shoot down the ZE3 rumours straight away.

That's sigma all right. Now just come up with phi somehow and we're done here.

But ye, I have to agree. At this point everything's so 'obviously' hinting towards ZE3, would be a super cunt move to not say anything if it didn't actually have anything to do with ZE.

(If there's really something) i think it could be useful to start listing words that can and cannot be done with those letters.

words that cannot be done:
zero(sorry :P, no "z")
infinity, no "f"
four

words that can be done:
nine(just one time though)
escape
ever OR seventeen, only one "v"
steam
one or two between playstation, three, vita because only 2 "t"

It's interesting that "playstation" can be done but not together with 3,vita or 4, maybe it's "station"? Ever 17 is on a space station right?

Funyarinpa found:

”Kyle Klim's Clone”

words I tried a while back were:

mars
nevada
test
leak
leap
loop
die
save
solve, unsolvable
mask, masked
cloak, cloaked
akane, seven, alice, snake, phi
.
.
.

there’s a whole lot more, so I don’t think this is solvable without a program. And it doesn’t explain the 23 letters each. Maybe it’s really just as simple as waiting for the numbers to turn into Greek Letters.

Ever 17 takes place in
an underwater amusement park / laboratory.

I think that to solve the anagram we need to focus on finding suggestions or instructions, words such as "Check, will, is", etc.

Without such a word anything we will find will be merely gibberish and/or cryptic. I do not think that the anagram would give us something cryptic.

I really hope that Aksys doesn't keep us in the dark for too long. We've waited long enough. I just want to be sure that ZE3 is coming and that I will be able to buy it and cry while I play it.

Ok I don't know if a flash designer can chime in, but don't animations sometimes have all frames in one image, of which it then shows parts to make up the animation? What I mean is, the images with the random words, I imagine the individual words would fade in and out on screen. The criss-cross placement is just to make them appear more spaced out and such. The only counter-argument is that it's not a transparent png.

That still doesn't solve the meaning, but at least it would show that the lay-out of the words isn't something to consider to solve this puzzle.

I'm just reaching, that un-updated teaser site. ):

Sad? Jesus christ, let people have their fun

Yup, I think most of us are having fun with this (in a Dark Souls kind of way ;)

Spitballing new ideas might just get us somewhere. If not, then we're at least keeping the conversation about the Zero Escape series going and doing some strange version of viral marketing for Aksys. If this wasn't about Zero3, someone from Aksys would have stepped in by now. It's also possible that we changed their ARG by finding the pictures too early or one of our ideas was right.

The night the site went up and the first anagram was discovered (maybe?), it felt like we'd be able to crack that thing pretty quickly. Clearly that's not the case, this might take a while. Aksys just isn't trickling out information fast enough, but I don't see any harm in coming up with new ideas as long as it's fun.

Seriously. This lack of updating really sucks.

C'moooon Aksys. Stop cackling behind your monitors for a few seconds and give us something, anything! Please. :(

There's no way this isn't ZE3. Someone would have said something by now. Either that, or they didn't realise we were in too deep before it was too late and now they're frozen with fear not knowing how to break the news.

Maybe Aksys locked the code as maybe one of us (I mean figuratively not necessarily anyone here) saw something we shouldnt have?
I like exploring and coming up with ideas, its fun :D
