Aksys is teasing something

I feel like people here are burnt out with the rampant speculation and having a backlash due to that.

when people start breaking down the source code of webpages and converting digital roots, it's only a mater of time before frustration starts setting it

I've checked to see if there are any clues from the SEO/web developer/WHOIS side of things and nothing of note.

Safe to say we can only rely on the updates of the site itself.

All we can do is be patient and rely on new information to re-assess.

The mood in this thread sure took a nosedive. :/

This is how I feel.

With a tease like this though? I still think they know exactly what they're doing with this, and I don't think they'd lead the fans on in this fashion.

They teased Sorcery Saga as something amazing and basically one of their best localization yet. People were hyped for Danganronpa and then crushed with the results.

I won't deny that the original image sent people's expectations a certain way, and some things seem to fit in nicely with ZE but there's just so much going against ZE.

It would be unprecedented for a localization company to announce a game being developed by someone else. And I think Uchikoshi's recent Famitsu interview is pretty damning.

I'm sticking with this being something related to the Infinty series or something unexpected. Would love to be wrong though.

maybe someone can find something in the source code? maybe the time to the next number is doubled every time. so it was 2 1/2 days to 302 and now its 5 days until 303?
so many questions

Multiple sources have confirmed that there is nothing to be found on the website source code.

What if they're actually publishing it. :P

I think this is it. Aksys were the ones who benefited the most economically from the ZE series, worldwide. They even reprinted 999, with a little "Zero Escape" image to tie it with VLR franchise-wise!

I think if anybody is financially interested in making ZE3 a reality, it's Aksys.

I can't even remember the last time a localization firm created a teaser website for something. Teasing things on social media, and/or with little images or stuff, sure, but a whole website? It's definitely weird.

And Aksys definitely has a lot of stake in Zero Escape, probably even more so than Spike Chunsoft, which is a very odd thing to say, but it's true.

That was a theory brought up before. I'll concede that while it would be unprecedented, it's possible. It's been brought up a lot, but ZE is more popular in the west, and likely two of Aksys' most popular releases.

Again, I would love to be wrong. It's just as easy to assume that Uchikoshi is going for a fake out with that interview so he wouldn't ruin the fun. But I have my doubts and I'd rather keep my expectations low for now, and get a pleasant surprise later.

I'll be interested to see if the website changes on Wednesday.

o hai DeMat. (Wait, you weren't actually there to make the connection between names here. It's Bolt, I'm not just some random crazy internet stalker.)

At this point I've basically just stopped thinking about the teaser. I'll cop to playing along earlier in the thread briefly but some of the puzzles people are pulling out of this are getting crazy.

What if this is their way of recruiting puzzle devs for ZE3?

if you expect disappointment, you can only have your expectations fulfilled or be pleasantly surprised

but secretly i'm hyped

Don't put too much stock into the interview, the part about Zero/Ever17/etc. was maybe a fourth of the whole text and I was just paraphrasing. The part where he says that "there's nothing to announce as of yet/still nothing he can talk about" is that typical kind of vague/evasive statement you see lots of in Japanese developer interviews.

I also forgot to mention one more question where he talks about announcing more than one game this year as promised in that large "goals for 2015" Famitsu special where they interviewed many developers.

My guess is still the same as before. An announcement by Aksys, coupled with a Japanese announcement around the same time (e.g. a story in Famitsu). Aksys publishing the game would make this even more likely.

Given that the ZE games were far more popular in the west than in Japan, that would make a certain amount of sense, wouldn't it?

It really would. I just think the timing for this is perfect. I mean as soon as I saw the whole 'you know what' comment on FaceBook I thought to myself that it was just a matter of time before it was announced. And now this!?! Everything just kind of slots into place. If this doesn't end up being Zero Escape 3 I'm going to be really annoyed and disappointed with Aksys.

Bolt? Fancy meeting you here! (just saw the edit, I knew you were Bolt, saw the latest meeting logs :p )

I've told myself to ignore the teaser, but I just keep coming back to it. I can't help it. ZE3 is that one game I think needs to happen at all costs, due to the setup in VLR, and, well... I've never played a series of games that needed closure as bad as ZE. And the sad story around Uchikoshi wanting to finish his love child of a trilogy but not being allowed to is just gloom-colored icing on this cake of despair. The very existence of ZE3, whatever the circumstances around its release and whatever its content, would be closure to Uchikoshi's story with the series. At the very least, if nothing else, I need that closure now, after investing so much emotionally into this whole affair. And I think I'm not alone there.

We might all be setting ourselves up for a huge disappointment. It's entirely possible, and frankly, at this point I wouldn't be surprised at all. I'm sorta expecting it to happen, deep down. But you can't take the hype away from me. I know that even if this is not ZE3, this very thread should still prove to someone relevant, somewhere, someone who has any kind of word regarding ZE, that people want this game. Very badly. And it'd be foolish for those involved not to act on this expectation.

In fact, even if this announcement is not related to ZE3 at all, after all this hype, now would be the perfect time for Uchikoshi to sit down with the people in charge and negotiate an end to the trilogy. We are all proof that this shit needs to happen.

inb4 this is actually ZE3 and all is well in the world

Guys don't hype too much, it's true that "0303" seems to point to ZE3, but let's look at what we have objectively for a second:

-we have a teaser from Aksys, a publisher that localizes games, Aksys localized 999 and VLR, but they didn't develop them, ZE3 would be announced in Japan first anyway and not by Aksys

-the site is called 4infinity, like a series of visual novels that has some games not localized

-it's true that 0303 seems to point to ZE3, but it could be a coincidence

imo the most probable conclusion is a localized release one or more infinity games.

None of the words in those two hidden images relate directly to any infinity game though, nor do 0303 or 0302.

This has all been addressed.

There's as much evidence for it being Infinity as there is for Zero Escape. Mainly: while the site has the word Infinity, the site itself has said "Zero Three" since day one, through the image.

Same with evidence against it: it'd be odd for a teaser site to give away its reveal in its very title, so Infinity seems unlikely. And it'd be unusual for Aksys, a localization company, to announce for the first time a game in a typically Japanese-developed series, so ZE also seems unlikely.

At this point, all possible deductions have been made from the available information. All we are left with is the wait.

I'm starting to think that there might be some trigger too, but how should we know that?.
And of course aksys knows hat people are talking about that, they haven't posted anything on Facebook and nothing relevant on twitter either.

Even if it's the Infinity games I'll be happy, just not AS happy

Dunno, I'm not sure if the other Infinity games are worth playing and I'm already done with Ever17. It was kind of a one-time deal for me since I wasn't a big fan of the characters.

So if it's a localization announcement or something similar, I'll be pissed at Aksys for a moment but then realize that I have a lot more important things to think about right now. Like, how am I ever gonna finish Bloodborne and when will I find time to play Pillars of Eternity. It's a cunt move and leading people astray antagonizes fans but overall, I haven't gotten my hopes too high (they've been very low all this time, really) so it wouldn't be that terrible.

Dunno if its one of the Infinity games, they already have fan translations/localisations (12 Riven is WIP).

Unlike what you think that could be a point in favor of the infinity theory, late localizations of FF Type 0 and Danganronpa(IIRC, or was another game?), and maybe some other games, were suspiciously announced when their fan translations were completed.

12 Riven is having some tech problems, so who knows when that will be done this year :(

Flood Aksys' twitter, break them before they break us.

You sure thats a good idea? ;)
I'm thinking this could change today/tomorrow - didnt they first announce "We have something cool in the works" on their site on St. Patricks Day, and then post Happy Hump Day on the 18th?

Guys, its just like in VLR.
Somebody in this timeline can jump, so after he noticed nothing happened here he went back to a meeting with Uchikoshi at Spike Chunsoft and changed their minds about Zero 3 in that timeline. That still means we are those 10 bikers that continued after the crash though T_T

At least we will know
the answer to Tenmyouji's question, then.

Why haven't I clicked on this thread until now?!

I am totally hyped for any Zero Escape 3 related media.

If Rising Star Games knows about this, then it HAS to be ZE3, right?
RIGHT?!

I am totally going to replay both games to completion again starting today. Just so I am in on the lore again.
