Aksys is teasing something

Maybe they gave up and cancelled the project because we couldn't figure it out

We're in the bad timeline...
Someone jump over to another and find the codes!

Really interested in this countdown, I'm not sure if the countdown just moves due to a pattern or aksys input, or even more interestingly, moves because of an action? Though I don't really know anything that has happened other than the images being found and can we say whether that was intended or the reason or not.

Keeping such a close eye on this, if it doesnt end up being ZE3, well it means Aksys are meanies, but just by looking at this thread, I think it proves theres definitely a want for ZE3, and if the companies that can make it happen don't see that, maybe thye should just pass it onto someone else. I'm hoping this is ZE3 though, I would have thought Aksys would have denied it by now if it wasnt, (Though you could say that about any game and you'd just be left with the only game it could be left), so they could just be using the hype to their advantage and/or taking the keep quiet about everything approach.

I think we've finally found a more obnoxious teaser than the TWEWY soundtrack countdown. At least that actually counted down.

I'm starting to think this isn't a countdown but rather action-based. Like, say, every 10 tweets with the #4infinity hashtag move the number down, or something like that to encourage virality. I doubt it's based on hits to the site, because just this thread has given it thousands already.

At the very least I think the fact that the number started at 0303 is a Zero Escape 3 tease for sure. I know Aksys only localized and published ZE1 and 2 in the States, but as Uchikoshi himself has said, the games were a much bigger hit in the West than in Japan, and Aksys has been growing and expanding lately, so it wouldn't be absolutely crazy if they were teaming up with Spike Chunsoft to fund and publish ZE3 themselves.

I mean, 90% of the speculation is for ZE3. It's either this or a re-release of the Infinity games, solely based on the name of the site -- which still makes it weird because there aren't 4 Infinity games, there's 3, or 5 if you consider 12Riven and Code_18. It wouldn't make sense for this to be an announcement of a 4th Infinity game (disregarding Riven and Code), because why would Aksys announce that? Out of ZE3 and Infinity 4, the only one that would make any sense for Aksys to announce it would be ZE3, for the reasons I mentioned before.

In any case, this has done good: hype for ZE3 is at an all time high, and I didn't know of the Infinity series before this, and now I wanna play them. This can only be good, for both series.

But that was explicitly a countdown. This is just a teaser website.

Not to mention that what made the former obnoxious was what it ended up counting down to, and not the countdown itself.

At least that one had good music >.>

Well they have great ZE music to use on this too, just that would give it away for sure, ha ha.
SE were mean with their countdown site though, they wanted us to know it was TWEWY related, and of course we all thought TWEWY 2....like chumps :'(

Like if this turns out to be VLR mobile... I think most will be disappointed and perhaps angry at the 0303 tease, me too probably included, but I think I would at least be happy for a friend to try it (If its on android anyway)

I cracked the puzzle. There is no answer. Or shall we say, Zero answer. The only way to win is to stop playing. We need to Escape this puzzle. Also there are 3 useless clues.

Zero escape 3, done. Okay aksys announce the damn game now please.

So much backlash. They announced something legitimately good and everyone was just pissed off because they were expecting something better. And it's all Square Enix's fault. Companies need to be smarter with their teasers.

Pretty much. By no means was it a bad teaser, they just have to acknowledge...uh...no one was visiting that site expecting what was revealed. We still want TWEWY2.

Hopefully it updates tomorrow because I pretty much give up now. I looked through the pages source code but I really have no idea what to look at so I am lost.

Alright, yeah, this isn't Zero Escape 3. When it isn't Atlus, these never actually turn out to be what people want. Maybe there'll be some "we're thinking about it" or "hey, who knows?" comment about a ZE3 along with whatever this tease is going to lead to, but it's not gonna be a proper announcement of the game.

I remember when they teased Gungnir and Growlanser IV.

I don't remember those, but I think that's part of my point: Teases from Atlus the developer, not Atlus USA the localization team/publisher. This is an Aksys—the localization/publisher team—tease, not a Chunsoft—the developer—tease.

Heh, that was war in the trenches. For all the Growlanser fanbase's griping, no one actually seemed to care about the game once it was out.

Atlus USA were the ones teasing them.

They said it started with a G, then unveiled Gungnir. The Growlanser fanbase flipped out. Then they announced Growlanser IV right after.

Reread my comment.

Edit: Or, wait, I'm kind of confused here... Either way, I'm now convinced this isn't ZE3.

If this turns out to not be zero escape 3 then why wouldn't aksys just say so in the first place. I'm 50 / 50 on this right now, the lack of clues is worrying.

As I said, if they're smart they should just say "it's not what you think it is" at this point.
Well, they should have said that a few days ago, actually. It'd be hard to believe they're not aware of this situation.

I think I follow, but I have more faith in Aksys than that.

I'll say this: a vague tease like this which can be thought of as ZE3 for a few reasons, leading to something completely different, would end up with more people unhappy than happy: a dumb move. Well, maybe not since, whatever happens, people will be talking about the announcement now, because of this tease. Either way, it seems to be a strategy that some companies have liked using in the past.

To the above, I guess I'm not convinced they'd necessarily want to temper expectations, because then the hype surrounding this thing would fall dramatically. It's like any other tease, where those involved in it just won't say anything about it because that'll ruin the surprise, even if a little.

Aksys would have to realize that there would be huge backlash if they teased something that could be very easily interpreted as zero escape 3. I don't think they are that dumb. I don't think they are willing to get that much heat just because they want to hype up some announcement.

Would that backlash matter? The only ZE3 indications that have been brought up have been by the fans; nothing from the teaser itself explicitly points to Zero Escape in any way. In fact, the URL itself—the only really solid part about this whole thing—would point to something completely different that we already know of.

Why have you lost your faith??

Of course they know - 99% of the replies from FaceBook where they first posted the teaser are Zero Escape 3 related.

I've always looked at Aksys as a good company that treat their fans well. I just can't see them trolling the fans like this.

I love Aksys as much as the next guy, but they have disappointed lots of times.

I never had faith in this.

But now, I'm opposing it wholeheartedly.

I now remember your steadfast anti phoenix like beliefs. For all our sakes I hope you are wrong.

ZE3 will rise from the ashes like a burning phoenix. It will be Peter and Wright all in one and it will be glorious.

The mood in this thread sure took a nosedive. :/

This is how I feel.

With a tease like this though? I still think they know exactly what they're doing with this, and I don't think they'd lead the fans on in this fashion.

No I still have faith. Let it burn through you.

They teased about CCC once, and it was cruel.

It wasn't as blatant as this, though. Uh, come to think of it, Aksys don't frequent this MB much anymore, do they?

Honestly, the only stuff that has me thinking that it might actually be ZE 3 are the comments earlier in this thread from people who apparently know what it is. The real thing putting me off is the font of the numbers on the teaser website. It doesn't look Zero Escapish to me.

Still, I want it to be ZE or Infinity related, and I can't think of much else it could be. 7/17/11 Steam releases seem more likely, but again I can't see much that connects the site with them besides the name. I know there was something about a company that went bankrupt trying to get Ever 17 on steam a few years back, so I'm thinking that there might be a chance that Aksys could have picked that up.

I can't recall the specifics, but it was pretty blatant. I'm sure someone remembers better than me. I think they referenced Extra or Fate somehow.
Well if they did do something to that effect, that's not ideal. But I'd say a reference in an interview/forum post/etc. isn't quite the same as a teaser site plastered with 3s all over and cryptic words hidden in the code. They must know what people would think when they saw it, and if they didn't then I'd say that's some pretty obtuse decision making from whoever approved it. But I still think this is for ZE3, so I guess all we can do is wait.

I do wish they'd give us some more to go on though, even if it is for something else, because a teaser like this with no discernible method of deduction loses all it's appeal when left in limbo like this.

I'll never lose hope.

I feel like people here are burnt out with the rampant speculation and having a backlash due to that.
It's peoples own fault for jumping on speculation based off so such thin bases. This teaser has very little that can be directly connected to anything we know of.

Eh, I think it's only natural. Given the circumstances, it's no surprise it's dominated the discussion, and Aksys has done nothing to dissuade that. (They might not have directly encouraged it either, but as mentioned early, it's obvious this would be the outcome.)
