Yup, I think so too. The only "excuse" would be that it's not a counter and that the changes are triggered by something (ideas on forums, number or retweets/likes/ pageviews, etc.).
I think people are thinking about this too much and/or paying too much attention to this. It isn't a standard countdown, and no one's been able to figure anything of substance about it. It's just something to be aware of, but I don't think its purpose is to be constantly stared at, hoping for something to change.
Still terrible, it isn't moving fast enough. Something needs to be changing or updating. Something.

I might be in the minority here, but I wasn't bothered at all by the "watering down" in VLR. I do know it was publisher-mandated and against Uchikoshi's wishes, but I still think VLR worked perfectly without the gore of 999. They're just different games, 999 is more intimate and tense, while VLR is more epic and ambitious. They both still have excellent characters, excellent plots, amazing writing and some of the best room puzzles in gaming. They both made me laugh, cry, and go "OSHIT", they just achieved this in different ways.
I wouldn't "mind" a watered-down ZE3 (it would probably be in the same level of VLR, since you can't really go safer than that and still make a ZE game), as long as all these aspects are still present, and we finally get closure on the narrative built by 999 and VLR. That's mostly what drives my anticipation, and I think most of us'.

I've been checking the source code and it all seems to be the same... Opening site declaration, some Google Analytics code, an anti spambot program called Bad Behaviour (open source and widely used, nothing of note here AFAIK), then the image with the numbers, and then the closing parameters. Some CSS and Wordpress theme stuff in the middle, but nothing of note, it seems.
There really is nothing for us to work with. Waiting is our only option.

Oh yeah, of course VLR was still very good and epic with great writing and twists, but I also liked the tense horror atmosphere 999 had thats all.

I agree. I consider its narrative one of the best among videogames. It's complex and satisfactory (it requires so much skill to elaborate the tree branches + locks + added complexity to 999 main plot + that level of mindfucks), even when it's a second game from a franchise where the first one is an excellent game. Yeah, lack of gore and oppressive atmosphere is a shame, that's the only thing I miss from the first.
For me VLR excels on what Kingdom Hearts 2 fails soooooooooo much (plot meta-complexity growth).
No, I believe this. That's the problem though. There SHOULD be something. But there isn't. Whoever is in charge of this sucks at teasers.

I'm now convinced the countdown means 03 months, 02 weeks.
But then what's the explanation for 0303 to 0302 within the span of two days? If that rule somehow doesn't apply to the first transition, then that means you're saying the countdown should read 0301 this Friday.
I wish I hadn't seen this thread I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SLEEP TONIGHT (or perhaps any night until I know what this is).

This is just a hunch, but...
Maybe the counter goes down each time a person dies. We are actually in a battle royale where only one of us will get Zero Escape 3. There are 302 of us left. The game will be released when the counter reaches one.

The reason it changed so quickly the first time is that the teaser was put up on a date which was precisely two days and however many weeks away from the teased day.
So you're saying, in a hypothetical scenario where the teaser went up on March 13th, it would have been 0303 all the way up to March 20th, when it then became 0302. And, following that logic, it should be 0301 on March 27th.
Makes sense, if it actually involves a month and week countdown.

But at least with that you knew when it was supposed to end. This is just a nebulous black hole currently.
Of course, and it was very clear what to expect with that countdown, too. And Atlus delivered, in the end. I just mean that not only has it been done before, but pretty recently, too.
Edit: Well, to be fair, I guess that one wasn't 3+ months, either. It'd be an even longer wait if this one was.
