Hunchback and Aladdin are much more "guy" films.

I dunno. I thought 'The Whole New World' carpet ride sequence is one of the most memorable romantic sequence in cinema ever. Aladdin has a broad appeal. And it's interesting how Aladdin's funny bits are still funny today when Shrek (1 or 2) have so quickly lost their appeal, especially since Aladdin is really the first animated feature to bring in pop culture references.

Yeah, but I think Aladdin's pop culture jokes stand on their own too. I mean, how many kids loved that movie and had no clue who some of those impersonations were? They were still funny, they just had an extra layer of humor for people in the know. The Shreks though, their pop culture jokes have nothing else going for them. They're one offs, and that's why just a couple years down the line they lose all humor. I think Disney was a lot more clever in their use of pop culture back then than Dreamworks is now.

I need to go buy this pronto. I haven't seen this in years. Maybe I'll head out right now...
