Aliens: Colonial Marines demo vs. final build

Dude can like whatever he wants. I'm not going into other people's reviews or threads to tell them they're wrong for liking them.

Did this philosophy come about before or after you theorized Vanquish's high scores came from a conspiracy of God Hand fans making sure they were the ones to review the game?

Didn't this exact same thing happen recently with Far Cry 3? I could have swore I saw something about a gameplay demo versus the final build somewhere.

There ARE cases where reviewers who are fans of a series or a developer will go out of their way to review the next installment. That's not a conspiracy at all.

I don't think reviewers who are predisposed to like a game are the ones that try to review them. I know that they are. /reviews editor

But. I should probably have just not said anything. They can like what they want to like.

While I am enjoying the game a lot, Gearbox is grimey and I hope Sega/Fox gives them hell for this. Not sure what studios would turn to Gearbox to help finish a project or work on a license with any value behind it after this.

They can take my $63 and go make Borderlands 3 now...sigh

Note: the part with the HUD is actually the final game. This is part of the video where the final/demo stamps were mislabeled.

On the consumer end this is quite common. Especially in the early days of new hardware (MGS4 for example). Don't want to call false advertising when games are always a work in progress. The ad for the game doesn't use this footage does it? While I doubt Sega wasn't well aware of what was going on it would be pretty crazy if they were actually delaying and outsourcing to finish Borderlands. Still Sega agreed to the outsourcing...

There's a whole lot of weirdness that makes this a unique issue. It's not like Brutal Legend where the game wasn't represented well (or even slightly dishonestly). The massive downgrade from a demo to the final product suggests something else outside of "work in progress".

This game reminded me of the magic card trick at DICE 2013. We have this game that noone would suspect isn't legit from the outside, but you open it up and there is no content on it.

Wow, the difference is crazy. The final build looks like a Duke Nukem Forever, while the demo looks like a good Aliens game.

What happened I wonder. It's not fair to say a Wii U joke here because that was the PC version shown in the video. Was the demo what Gearbox did before they handed it to other studios?

Hope Sega does something and releases that demo version. This wreaks.

What in the world happened?? I cant believe we are getting this crap from same dev who made Borderland 2..
Did they make this in their spare time?

Yes, and with Borderland's spare change.
