Edit:
Despite being preorders Amazon is discounting all the Wave 1 Lego Dimensions Year 2 products by 40%. This isn't exclusive to Prime or anything either. It's been like this for almost 2 days. Target also has the discount but not Best Buy or Gamestop.

This thread is two-fold. One, to let people who are interested know the figures are reduced. Two, because what product line gets disocunted 40% off before release?
As someone who buys a ton of Toys to Life stuff I've always been keenly aware of deals. Figures drop soon after release. Toys R Us has a B1G40% sale every other week. I own 90% of all Disney Infinity products released and I paid on average 70% for all of it. Even Amiibo recently can be had for around $6 direct from Amazon.
I often thought of how companies can see these are profitable if stock gets so heavily disocunted quickly? The original Lego Dimensions line is reduced from regular price at Best Buy and is on Clearance at Walmart.
What does it mean when the next line is 40% off before release? It's at the point where these minifigures are cheaper than actual Lego Minifigures despite also having an unlock function in game.
Also making 5 levels based on the Ghostbusters reboot with a MSRP of $50 is something I can't believe actually happened. It's coming months after the movie too. This is one I see dropping the most.
Stuff like this makes me wonder how long Lego Dimensions will continue.
Target is having a sale for 40% off all Lego Dimensions products and it likely got applied to the September releases accidentally. Amazon price matched cause that's what they do. I wouldn't take that as a desperation move.
Lego did drop the msrp of the fun packs with the new season to 11.99 but I think that was to put it more in line with Skylanders and Amiibo.
