I actually thought this was a bit of an improvement. It wasn't memorable, though.

You think the race's 300th (American) leg will have some more importance to it.
And it was weird there wasn't that whole dramatic pause before Phil mentions its a non-elimination leg. Where's the suspense.

It had to be non-elim. There was six legs left and only 3 teams to eliminate. Phil knew we couldn't be tricked 
This season is kinda boring. These teams seem to barely acknowledge each other's existence compared to the comraderie/rivalry of past seasons. The "rivalry" between the bikers and the dentists was contrived and not that interesting. "We'll write something on their car! Because we kinda slightly dislike them!" Dentists: "Yeah, we like them slightly less than we love everyone else" Oooh, compelling television. These people are boring.

The cast is just so fun (and the Wrestlers and Cyclists are extremely funny).
The leg was kinda linear with only two challenges present (unlike Morroco where we had 3-4 tasks a leg plus U-turn), but this allowed some room to focus on some inter-team alliances/feuds. The scenery and the quality of the tasks made up for the lack of tasks, and the teams delivered again.
Amy/Maya is a nice team, I think, but they are still severely under-edited. At least they're at the podium this leg.

I've caught up on some recent seasons of TAR (17, 18, 22 and 24) and I really enjoyed most of them, very frantic and tense, with fantastic and varied challenges. This one does seem a bit bland in comparison -- editing is much more sober, not as much sense of urgency, not as much of a race? I get the feeling that few of the teams are actually desperate to survive, or dread the thought of elimination. Here you have a couple of competitive people, but you get a sense most wouldn't be too fussed if they got sent packing.

I can't wait for Bethany to get eliminated. I'm starting to get tired of constantly hearing about her condition. By constantly bring it up, people don't realize that they are actually reinforcing the label that she is handicap and thus can do less. Instead, they should do the opposite.

I actually don't mind any of the teams winning. This season is kind of meh, and all the teams I disliked are gone.

Yeah, I mean outside of that annoyance, they are an enjoyable team to watch and I wouldn't be disappointed if they won. Right now I guess I don't have anyone that I am rooting for to win. I do like the college couple but I can't actually see them actually winning this season.
I mean, her disability actually DOES handicap her though. A missing arm is quite a bit more debilitating in the race than most of the handicaps people in the past have had.
Even the team I hate (The dentists) are totally deserving of a win. It's so aggravating, I want to hate them because they're so smarmy and smug, but at the same time they're clean racers, they're not overly mean, hell even Jim is supportive of Misty when she's fucking up and you know he's upset. It's hard to say they're anything but fantastic at the race.

This week I switched to pulling for the Cyclists, Dentists, and Surfers for a final three.
I didn't like the Dentists but they are a good team even though they are a little to cocky, and dat smile..wonder if CBS had to filter the cameras to dull it a little... The cyclists won me over past couple of weeks, they just seem to actually be having fun. The surfers while they mention her disability, I guess I don't see it as to overbearing, but I am impressed with what she can do with one arm.

Well, those are clearly the three teams that deserve to make it to the end so no harm in rooting for the trio. Would make for a compelling final leg as well.

I didn't like the cyclists all that much at first, but they've grown on me. Truthfully, though, I found a lot of the teams to be quite ignorant at the beginning, outside of the surfers.

Kinda interesting to see Bethany ask about what bird that was at the pit stop. Wonder if this means we're actually getting a memory final leg again for once.
Yeah I just quit watching the episode after seeing that. Pretty obvious how it's going to go.

I adore Robbie and Brooke. They're reality TV gold.
Casting did a great job including them in this season.
You WANT teams to hate in a show like this instead of a bunch of bland entitled lamers like cancer survivor father & son, Dave & Connor.
Pro wrestlers play heel characters for a living so they're simply using their skill set to make good television.
Brooke complaining about every little task no matter how easy is something I'll never get tired of. And they're both funny to boot.
I'll also concur that the surfing fast forward was a complete screwjob for the cyclists but it made for a compelling leg at least.
I'm in the "anyone but Bethany & Adam" camp to win this year. They're shoe-ins for the next All-Stars regardless given her gimmick.
I think Team Teeth has a decent chance with their edit.

Seriously I remember a few weeks ago when she had to zip line and solve a sliding puzzle. As soon as she landed and saw the puzzle she instantly said she didn't get it. I died laughing it's just so stupid, but yet entertaining. The wrestlers probably won't ever come back either, so their stupidity is entertaining to me for their short lived race life.

Obviously it's not for her. It clearly is for CBS and they're exploiting it for that reason because it gives them an easy "fan favorite" storyline.
If CBS wasn't treating it like a gimmick, we'd have more than a surface-level insight into Bethany & Adam's relationship and personalities.

Blandany and Bordam more like it. They are so uninteresting. Their relationship is so passionless and uninteresting. Every time they are on screen I have to remind myself that they are not brother and sister. Actually, the brother and sister from season 2 (Blake and Paige) had more chemistry and spark than these two (and it was ewwww) Maybe they are interesting, and CBS is so intent on pushing the inspirational story that they don't show it. Still better than watching that Achilles Heel whine his way to victory though.

I liked the cyclists, so I'll miss them being in the final 4, 3 or 2. The surfing fast forward really was unfair, and it gave Adam and Bethany a leg up on their competition. I like them, and would be fine if they won because I've been cheering for them since the beginning, but it's still bullshit.
The wrestlers are the team I don't like. I hate their sport, but that's not why.
It's too bad that the cyclists are gone, because the quieter one was pretty good-looking. I'm not usually one to point this type of stuff out, but it's true. The wrestler's wife is a bit too gruff.

I don't think nice couples are bland or boring, I think they're all too rare on these sorts of shows. I mean, that FF might be a bit overtly favored towards them, but theystill failed it too . Everyone has an affinity for certain tasks, you might as well say every episode is biased towards the people that are better at those particular challenges - over the course of the season it doesn't matter.
I think the Cyclists were great racers and should still be in it, but they made a REALLY REALLY dumb decision to assume the surfers wouldn't go for a surfing fast forward. They should've bailed the moment they failed the first time when the surfers arrived, minimum. That was stupid of them, straight up.

I find it hard to truly hate the dentists, I think everyone started off uneasy because they're so smarmy and cocky, but the reality is they're supportive of each other even when they're not doing well and they do REALLY good at most of these challenges. I still don't 'like' them but I would never say they don't deserve it if they win.

I wonder if they would have lied if the Scientists didn't give them half-assed directions earlier in the leg. Or yelled at them for not U-turning the Cyclists.

I really think they would have anyway. Idk personally I always got the feeling that Brooke just feels threaten by them since they are smart scientists. I really think Brooke is worried about looking dumb, so if she fucks up the "smart" team she would not look as stupid.It really makes no sense why Brooke would screw them over when the first plan was to uturn the cyclists to make sure they got out. Brooke was willing to keep the stronger team just to get them out at that point. Which smart racers wouldn't do , you never want to keep the stronger team. However the wrestlers fell ass backwards into a pretty good spot this week. They made the scientists waste their uturn, they placed 2nd for the week,scientists are dead last in the next leg, they only pissed off the scientists and I really doubt the scientists would take revenge on them. Hell I don't see anyone wasting their time into trying to get the wrestlers out unless they are fighting for dead last next leg. Why waste your energy on getting those idiots out when you can try to take out team teeth or surfers.

Not a fan of the cyclists so I'm not torn up to see them go.
My wife about died laughing watching the scientists get their massage. Holy shit, I don't know if I've seen her laugh so hard. And every time it went back to them she went nuts. It was great. One of the highlights of the season for sure.

The cup massages? My daughter hurt her shoulder skydiving, and it wasnt a lot that could be done for occasional pain so she decided to try acupuncture and cupping and yes, her back looked as bad as the teams that did the challenge, and yeah she was sore the next day. The flip side is she said it has helped, she usually goes every two weeks. She did say she will not be doing it during the summer cause if the marks.

It was a given, with 4 teams left and only 2 non elims so far, you can be damn sure producers would have made the last leg non-elim if the bikers got the fast pass instead of the surfers.

Having spent 6 months of my life in Manila, I can vouch for the "dirty tube socks" smell of a good portion of that city. It's certainly an adjustment. Poor sewage system plus constant flooding, prevalent heat and unceasing humidity does not make for pleasant street smells. You do get used to it after a while.
Thought it was hysterical to hear Robbie complain about a task almost as much as Brooke did for once. I can relate too... I hate touching slimy things. But for a task on the race you just push past that kind of aversion and get it done.

Naturally. The shenanigans they pull with non-elimination legs to favor specific teams is one of my biggest pet peeves with the show.

I know bro. Kym and Alli probably had the most fun and interesting personalities on the show, not to mention that they were eye candy. Now I don't care who wins this season as long as it is not the surfers.
I'm laughing at how many vacations that the dentists have won. They're going to have to take hell time off of work to go on all of them.
