I might jump on that KOA for $12 deal when it pops up but I'm still jelly about missing Origin's survey and free games event. I look at the Origin icon on my desktop and all I feel is salty

I don't think you could get that game for free through the survey anyway. When I tried it wouldn't discount it, but it still worked on other games.

Did you guys hear we're doing Dark Souls for $20 starting on Sunday?

Yes it activates on Steam :)

Cheers,
Tony

Damn all my reaction images are at home and I'm on my phone.

But amazing deal, I picked it up at release and its one of the best games I've ever played. Seriously.

Don't believe the talk about the bad port either. Most of the downsides, internal resolution, mouse controls, were fixed shortly before launch or shortly after.

Fast forward to today, and we have high resolution texture mods, SMAA/SSAO injector, 60 fps mod, and much more. Its ridiculous.

Get this game, play it, and then pray that from releases the sequel on PC.

I've seen it mentioned that the Steam version was put up by 38 Studios themselves. Basically the state of Rhode Island is responsible for the Steam version and so far they don't seem to care to do anything with it. Didn't get any sort of discount during the summer sale and no keys have been made available anywhere as far as I know.

So yeah, anything with KoA is going to be Origin, and the Steam version will probably be removed from the service before it ever goes on sale.

This is true, you think it would be in Steam's best interest to contact Rhode Island and inform them on how much potential revenue they could make by discounting their new property on the service. Both parties could stand to make some profit.

They are obviously out of their league in terms of understanding business, let alone understanding the industry. I'm not fully versed on the issue, but from what they did to Curt, outing him when he was on the verge of signing some future deals.

I'm not too familiar with the situation, but there is still probably legal issues that need to be worked out before anything can be done with Steam version. Who knows how long it could take.

Valve needs to send an emissary to tell the state of Rhode Island the benefits of Steam.

It's pretty unfortunate as it was really nice to have that inside info on sales and the like. Of course it was warranted but still sucks.

Nah, someone else will relay. I say it on GAF Steam chat but it's sort of fishy for him to post that like that. It's definitely frowned upon but he's never made some post or even started a thread like that. Makes me perceive that his account was hacked.
