Amazon Prime Day Deals

I have no idea if these were part of the deals or not, but I bought a PSTV and Persona 4 Golden. P4:G is the only Vita game I ever want to play, so for 60 bucks it seems like a pretty good deal.

That's the best 60 bucks you've ever spent. Get ready for the best ride of your life.

Was anyone able to pickup the Blue Yeti microphone? I wanted so bad to pick it up, but it was sold out the minute it went on sale.

Didn't buy a single thing. What an absurd what of time.

Is that a surprise? It was all a marketing ploy from Amazon to get more people to dish out 100 bucks or whatever it costs for Amazon prime.

What I can tell from reaction around the net, most items were sold out almost immediately..including sharpies.

IMO, Amazon prime is a scam.

While the prime day was super lame, Prime is still an awesome service. Love the 2 day shipping (though not for game pre-orders), and its saved my ass plenty of times.

Prime is amazing. All shopping free 2 day shipping, an excellent music streaming site which allows you to download albums straight to your device, stream movies, tv shows, hbo shows, kindle books. I got all that for 49.00. Somehow got a student discount. Even at 99.00 it's still a great service.

Free 2 day shipping, tons of movies, tv shows, books, and music at your fingertips. Not to mention early access to sales, online storage, and the fact that you can gift it to multiple friends for free. If Prime is a scam, I'd hate to see what you think of Netflix or Hulu. I think your bitterness towards this sale has you talking crazy.

Well, something can't be a scam "in your opinion".

It either is or isn't.

It's tough to give up 1-2 day shipping once you get the taste of it. If you order enough stuff online it can be worth it for shipping alone. Since I also subscribe to Netflix and Spotify their respective video and music services don't do a whole lot for me personally, though I am pleasantly surprised when Prime Instant Video has content not on Netflix or some stuff like Star Trek TNG that's on both services but only the remastered HD version is on Amazon (at least as far as I know).

Luckily I bought my i5-4690K & Gigabyte GA-Z97 Gaming 5 Tuesday. Was planning on phoning in with price adjustment requests so I could get everything home & installed by Friday night.

Prime Day was a letdown. No dispute there.

But to call Prime a scam? I don't like to be the guy to play the "definition" game, but the word means: "a dishonest way to make money by deceiving people."

There is nothing dishonest or deceptive about the service. Maybe you don't like it or maybe it doesn't represent value for you, but it's absolutely not a scam. Everything you get is right there on the information pages. It's all pretty straightforward.

People trying to take a shit all over Prime just because this sale wasn't fantastic are hilarious.

Prime itself is a fantastic service and offers ton of value. Yes, the sale wasn't great, but there were definitely a few good to great offers throughout the day. Unfortunately, that means you needed to be checking in all day to find something worth your while.

I got a Philips 50" Smart HD LED TV for £256, and a 27" PC monitor (I forget the brand) for £126, so I'm content. I won't deny that there was nothing else I found interesting though.

I can't believe I missed out on MKX collectors edition. The only thing that I would remotely want. I would even give up my fallout 4 pipboy edition preorder.

Not the issue. The problem was the sale itself: it was massively overhyped, and it severely underdelivered. People have every reason to be irked at an anniversary sale that promises to be better than Black Friday and ends up being a day-long festival of mediocrity.

I got a bottle of gin and a new network switch. Both actually very important purchases, but I was hoping for more games :(

I'm very happy with the 10' x 5' Goal I got for my daughter.

$53 was the cheapest it had ever been.

One of the few items that had never been priced lower.

The problem in this sale, was people were generally only looking to buy stuff they wanted, while on black Friday people are looking for stuff for a bunch of people. There was plenty of stuff that could have been bought for others , but all I walked away with was protein (got a great deal too).

1TB PS4, PS TV, PS+ for 3 months, Destiny (ugh) and Ultra SF4. All for £329. I think the UK wins for once.

That's £35 for PSTV at cheapest past deals, £12 for PS + 3 months, about £15-£17 for Destiny new in past deals and Ultra Street Fighter 4 as a download for £20. That's £247 for the PS4, which is an OK price given it's 1TB. There have bene cheaper constituent pricing for bundles for 1TB.

Almost bought the ps camera but didn't at the last second

No elgato streaming device or retron 5 system had me :(
Was close to buying the MK X collectors edition but I have to much stuff all over my home already so I passed , maybe I shouldn't have

Prime is a decent service if you shop a lot at Amazon , you can easily replace Netflix with prime instant video and the Amazon music service that's included is ok

Sale was still a let down though

I really had no issue with Prime at all.

My main issue was all the hype Amazon created and having limited stock be the main thing you advertise. Like everything mentioned in the preview was a low stock item.
I wish they would create another category for lightning deals with limited stock so I wouldn't get my hopes high.

Still it was an overall success for Amazon and I got a TV upgrade for a decent price, so cannot complain. I will be more realistic for Black Friday and not expect much.

My spoils:

Sennheiser RS 175, which was neither a Prime Day deal nor from the warehouse. I found them very cheap from a third party instead. Did a lot of research on wireless headphones and this seems to be the best bang for your buck. I've already got a nice wired pair that are extremely neutral sounding, so I went with the RS 175 for a bit more personality. We'll see if I enjoy them.

EasyAcc 7 Port Hub. Picked it up because, for the first time ever, I need more USB ports on a console. Between a keyboard dongle, a USB stick that has my playlist on it, the charging cable for the DS4, and my headset set up which uses a USB sound card, I would always have to pick and choose what to use. Not anymore!

Nice little organizer. My frequently used controllers and games are kind of spread out on various places so this will keep everything I use often within reach.

Eneloops! I debated cancelling this order as I didn't think I'd use all 16. Then I remembered that Rock Band 4 is coming out this year and these will be great for that.

Etekcity Universal Dock. Gives you all of those connections for one USB 3.0 port. Got this from the warehouse, which, after the 15% discount, was cheapcheapcheap.

Considering I wasn't planning to buy much and kept my expectations low, I'm pretty happy!

is there somewhere to see how much digital credit you have? I should have around £12-15 from buying things with 'no rush' delivery, but when I go to the video store for rentals etc I can't see anywhere with how much I have. I don't want to have to blindly rent something before I know if I have any promo credit left.

Also, anyone not received the £10 bonus for ording a £50 gift card? My gift card arrived today but no sign of the £10 bonus

edit: Rang amazon and they confirmed it hadn't been added. They're going to do it now. If anyone bought the £50 gift card, check if you got the email about the promo credit - amazon seem to have missed a bunch

I tried to figure this out and couldn't find a surefire official way. Eventually I settled on a somewhat kludgy - but effective - solution: Add a load of content to my MP3 shopping basket, then go to checkout and look at how much the discount would be.

I passed out around 10-11 pm est last night.. Did the Alienware Alpha I5 or I7 even ever go on sale like a few sites claimed it would? I canceled my I3 trusting those sites and because if I'm going to upgrade I want a little bit more out of it than the i3.

Wasn't a Prime Day sale but this was what I bought yesterday:
