Personally, I'd rather just keep a GT 210 or something else really cheap sitting in a box JIC, and otherwise dedicate more of the die to the actual CPU.
Same here, I keep a GT 730 on hand for older computers that don't have HDMI.

Got my 1700X pre-ordered!

U.S pre-ordered are up?
I'm going to wait anyway to see some more extensive testing done to see how much the binned status actually matters. But just curious.

Well 8 DIMMs would be for quad-channel, AFAIK. R7 only support dual-channel.Does anyone know why these new x370 boards only seem to support a max of 64G ram? 4 DDR slots instead of 8 on the intel boards (which support 128Gb)?
64 is enough for now, but in the future when I increase the VM workload on my machine I'll need more RAM...

Your RAM should be at least 2666 MHz, 1.2v, and the lowest latency you can get. The Ripjaws V line of DDR4 is pretty good, but it gets pricey above 2666Mhz due to the RAM shortage.I've been looking at this kit, but not sure about RAM... Should I go for higher frequency?
Also not sure about motherboard, the choices they have are the MSI and the ASUS but not sure which brand to go for.
Any got recommendation for brand/frequence and latency to go for?
All the motherboards I want sold out. What the hell! breh.
Also, that kit has a shit cooler. Get a Cryorig H7, at the very least.

I dunno if the H7 ships with AM4 brackets, so I'm not sure the cooler in that kit would either. Thanks for the recommendations. I know about the cooler, will use it until i get the new brackets for my noctua that's part of the free upgrade they offer.
Amazon pre-orders are up!
Snagged the 1800x and Rog vi hero board.
Well crap...I pre-ordered the 1700. I have a week to think about it.
Edit* Where can I pre-order the $80-$90 boards at? I want a Micro ATX board.
Newegg
Edit: Nevermind
Austin Evans trying Ryzen at AMD
PS: Linus makes an appearance mid video.
PPS: Austin accidentally tries to leak GPU info. LoL
I cannot wait to see the performance of that "TOTALLY NORMAL GPU".
Found them
Does Newegg charge up front for pre-orders? I buy a ton from them, but I've honestly never preordered on Newegg since their site opened..lol.

They are naming them to match Intel's naming scheme
Has corsair said anything about am4 brackets for their hydro series aio line? Can't see anything on amazon or newegg about it.
I'm looking at F4-2800C16D-16GRR ripjaws think this will do? CL16 but at 2800Mhz.I dunno if the H7 ships with AM4 brackets, so I'm not sure the cooler in that kit would either.
They obviously feel confident enough in their product to go toe to toe with them.

It was a good video, those dubbed parts were telling.
I'm super tempted to preorder but I gotta wait for gaming benchmarks
Surely availability won't be an issue, right?

This is a sweet ass Ryzen system on Amazon.

I knew it would run way too hot, AMD fucked up once again.
Are real-world performance stats coming before launch?Well you can always preorder to be safe, they won't charge you until it actually ships and you can cancel anytime.
Yeah I'm probably gonna go ahead and buy some RAM. Crazy how far prices have risen in just the last yearI would be more worried about DDR4 prices
Many will probably upgrade from DDR3 platforms
Yeah, I would jump on that sooner rather than later.I'm looking at F4-2800C16D-16GRR ripjaws think this will do? CL16 but at 2800Mhz.
Some AAA games benefit from having more than 4 cores, not all of them.Cross posting from the other Ryzen thread, but the AAA game market has already moved on past 4 threads:
When do the new AMD GPUs come out? (asking for a friend who is building a PC this year, preferably full AMD)
Unfortunately the main games I actually care about CPU performance in right now are HITMAN and Dishonored 2, and I don't see them showing up on many benchmarks these days.
I just want to know what I have to buy to run those games smoothly.
