American Indians Boycott Activision's GUN.

I could see their point if the game had you fighting Native Americans most of the time, but you're not. Not even half the time. Or if there was some overarching point made about Native Americans made in the game, but there isn't. It's not like the game displays any prejudice towards killing Native Americans over other groups. To move forward in the game, you're mostly killing outlaws and bandits and rogue sheriffs and other whiteys.

The statement from the Association for American Indian Development is pretty pathetic, sadly. It possesses the logic and hyperbole of something a teenager would've written. Also, for a group calling for sensitivity, you'd think their release wouldn't be so backhandedly offensive throughout with statements like, "And, believe it or not, Indian kids play Xbox, too." Really?? But I thought they raped white women and chugged firewater for good times!

And yet, you also kill a ton of white people in the game. Can I sue Activision for that? And while I'm in the courtroom, I'll ask, with them UNDER OATH, why the game is only 6 hours long, why Tony Hawk games are starting to suck, and why the fuck didn't they test Call of Duty 2 360 enough and I've lost my save data three times.

If I win, they ban GUN, ban the writers of Tony Hawk, and I get a save file right at the end of the British campaign. :lol

Yeah, anybody who actually completed the game would agree. (just completed it last night, except for the last boss, which sucks).

I did not get any sense of intentional stereotyping, or anti-indian motif.

Why doesn't cowboys descendants and redneck doesn't complain about stereotypes?
Why chinese people doesn't complain against GTA ad pretty much all the games that contains stereotype anyway?
Why italians and mafia also doesn't complain?
Why is there NEVER a white dude complaining against some very idiotic stuff in our games except that stupid Jack Thompson?

This worlds make no sense sometimes. Bunch of whinners.

goddamn right.

All true. At no point do you have to scalp anyone, and you also find out
near the end of the game that your character is actually a Native American
.

This is what boggles the most. That and you kill everyone throughout the game and in several campaigns, you fight alongside the Indians.

This thread is making me want to play it again.

There's no way an Underground Railroad game will sell well if it has a black protagonist. I just can't relate. Sales -1.

The light from the lanterns inside the tunnels are too orange-sorry, I just can't buy this

Native Americans!

There's nothing "Indian" about them!

I'm a real Indian, and I resent them stealing the name of my heritage! :p

They're probably just angry that Natives are in it, but they're not superheroes that solve all the world's problems at the end.

Yes.

If they're Indian then wtf am I (south asian)? I hate having to say I'm Indian with the disclaimer, "the south asian kind".

Word. I hate that shit. Every time I say I'm indian, someone asks me "native?" Then I'm reminded of how retarded the average white person is.

Looks like someone at the Association for American Indian Development needs to be taught how the capslock button works.

You mean Native Americans don't kill sacred buffalo for sport?

The game obviously takes its cues more from Western movies than history books. I don't see what the big deal is. It's a video game. I mean they completely neglect to mention the game's "white devil" references and that the game's story is actually more sympathetic to the Natives.
