Living in Minnesota has been like living in a sheltered bubble for me. I don't see fat people everywhere even though I read how bad obesity has been becoming. I also feel like the vast majority of people here are incredibly nice as well.

I'm scared to leave

I have noticed that a lot people people in Jax is on the chunky side, but I'm still surprised to see the city on the list.

Yep. Pretty shocking when I visit the South.

Food is amazing so it makes sense lol.

Yep. Just spitballing here, but I've always placed it down to the culture down here being centered around farmhands working 15 hours a day and coming home to eat massive, gargantuan calorie meals of chicken fried steak, bbq, etc and once our economies properly industrialized post civil war we didn't need those extra calories yet the food was so ingrained that people kept eating it and just got fatter and fatter. The change over to the service economy where most people sit at a desk just kicked it into overdrive, and now we went from the chubby states to the obese states really fast.

I think Mexico has a similar issue doesn't it?

Mexico's problem is that since the majority is poor, they only eat large quantities of staples (rice, beans, beef, etc). On top of that, they tend to fry everything. Hell, my grandma was still cooking with lard until the mid 90s.

Tacos, flautas, chicharones..FUCK, I'm getting hungry.

Hey, Virginia Beach is pretty low on the list! Probably because there's so much military here and they are in decent shape.

Figured Boston would be lower on the list

There are all different body types in the city of course, but it's not so often that I see truly obese people

I swear, on every one of these 'bad quality about a city' lists Wichita, KS is like in the 30-40th spot. Never bad enough to call out, but never anything to be proud of.

Glad I moved out of Philly before my metabolism slowed, so many things there that taste amazing but are just awful for your health.

...and that, kids, was the first time I sucked a dick for crack
Not surprised by the Orlando area placement. I rarely see any serious obesity around here. And fitness is a major part of people's lives, gyms are always packed, tons of joggers, tons of cyclists, etc.
