Thanks for the German link. Grabbed a Marth. Villager aka the Resident there just went out of stock for a bit. Damn. Want it by Christmas for my daughter. German shipping cheaper than buying on eBay. What is wrong with this. Ha
 
Got part 1 of Wave 2. Able to cancel my Zelda and Little Mac at Best Buy but my Diddy is the free one I'd get in my other order. Debating whether to keep it in the order in case someone on GAF can't find a Diddy. If not I can always drive back to Toys R Us and return it with my other receipt (is this fraud?)
 
Question, does the German Marth have German text on the box? And are these region free? I opened my Mac and Zelda and am not sure what the boxes even look like on the back.
 
Got my Zelda today, luckily her paint job is fine. Before I went to the desk to pick it up I was looking at other amiibos and a lot of them have odd spots. It was particularly hard to find a Kirby that didn't have a blue or grey smudge on him somewhere. They had tons of everything except only 3 little macs, but I don't really have the plastic lust and for me it'd be too much hassle for whatever potential profit I could get off him so I refrained. If I like how this works with the game I might try to find a clear Kirby because he was so adorable but otherwise I may just stick to Lucina whenever she comes out. I hope they make Captain Toad & Toadette ones though because they are too cute.

They are region free. The boxes are different from the NA ones and there is German and French text, I believe, but most of the packaging is in English. At least the ones I got from Amazon France were this way. I believe they use the same packaging throughout Europe
 
I have a feeling Nintendo is releasing three today (Little Mac, Zelda, Diddy Kong) just to quickly pull them and discontinue them to make room for the next several and still keep the popular ones permanently displayed. Once they sell out, that will probably be all she wrote - which already happened today, so fuck.

If this trend continues, God help us all.

I feel like there are tiers. Some like Mario and Link are top tier. Then below that you might get stuff like DK, Yoshi, Kirby, Luigi. Popular and easily recognizable characters but not the top billing. Then you get a lower tier with stuff like Fox and maybe Diddy or Little Mac. And then you have the buy it now because we aren't making any more like WFT, Villager, and Marth.
 
Got Smash today, and a Yoshi amiibo. Really wanted a villager but as I just learned I'm hellah late to the disappointment party :(.

My collection so far :) Just got a bigger media shelf unit, so I decided to use this one for now as my amiibo holder.
 
This Exclusive Amiibo stuff is going to get out of hand, I know it.

I hope the new 3DS Xenoblade Chronicles gets some new Amiibos like Reyn, Sharla and Riki. If those become GameStop exclusives, I will basically sneak into the store's ceiling panels the sleep there amogst the vents and light fixtures the night before release date and drop down in front of the register with my pre-order receipts the second they open their doors.

My theory is that the commitment for preorders for Villager, Wii Fit Trainer and Marth from retailers (Not costumer preordering online) where not as high for this three, so Nintendo made a small print of those. This is supported by the fact that Marth and Villager sold out in a few hours without even getting on the Top 10 of Amazon, even while other figures made it to said Top and took longer to sold out, just to be restocked again. No one cared for Wii Fit Trainer until rumors started she was rare, and even now that she is most people don't care about her unless she is a main,completing the set or really like her design, no nostalgia there.

If anything chances are high we get a reprint for Marth and Villager between wave 2 and wave 3 or with wave 3. I think Wii Fit Trainer is gone forever.

Super annoyed i missed Marth. There are no Little Macs to be seen anywhere near me I'm in Brisbane in Australia.

Pretty much the only amiibo available right now are Pikachu, Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Zelda and Kirby. Even then, some of them are difficult to find.

Hey, you're right. Viillager is now in stock at Amazon Germany. That's odd. Just a few hours ago he weren't. So they now have all three; Marth, Wii Fit Trainer and Villager
 
So what's the deal with wave 2? I went to pick up diddy kong today but was told my pit preorder wouldn't come out until December 31?
 
I believe the other two are coming out at the end of the month apparently...so just hold out until then.

My question is - for those of us with an older 3DS XL they are going to release some sort of thing for us to use these on our games?

Yes! That is one I needed for my girlfriend and I promised one for a fellow gaffer who wanted it as a Christmas present for her daughter, who wants to trade me the last one for a Marth?

I went to my local EB Games, and the girl told me that Zelda, Little Mac, and Diddy Kong are being released first, and the rest will come out next week. Nintendo didn't give them an explanation, but she thought they are doing this to create artificial demand.

And, to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised they would be doing this.
 
Well, I actually pre-ordered the Shulk one though it's more for support for Xenoblade because otherwise, Luigi is still my main target.
 
Has anyone noticed that the Little Mac amiibo looks weirdly handsome? Like more so than his in game model. Especially if you view him from below.
 
Has anyone heard from Best Buy on Pre-Orders for Little Mac or Zelda? Those 2 show no status available. I checked my local Gamestop and couldn't find any and was told they already sold out of the 2 each they received. I'm getting a little worried they are gonna cancel my Pre-orders even though I've had those for a while.
 
i really need to get down to gamestop and pre-order my wave 3 figures asap for those that have pre-ordered do they make you pay for the whole amiibo up front or can i put 5 dollars only down like for games?

You can just go to Gamestop.com, and do in store pick-up when you preorder. I've done that for these and several games in the past without putting any money down. They do require you to give them a CC number, but they will never charge you. Your online order is just as good as placing $5 down in store.

You can also do site to store pre-order with your credit card. They'll charge you when you pick it up.
