I wonder if this was the guy over at the Orange City GameStop. When the manager was ringing out my Pit, he told me someone came into the store irate because he thought he was told over the phone that a Pit was being held for him, when they told him that they might have some in stock.
 
A friend gave two other friends Amiibos for their Christmas presents at a party last night. After everything settled down, we played some 8-player Smash Bros. which led all three of them to the realization that you couldn't actually play as the Amiibo after it has leveled up.

"What the hell is the point in buying them, then?" they asked.

I had no answer.

... This makes sense.

GameStop is next to GameTrader (which gets Amiibo in but only on special order) in Orange city, then comes the Sandford Target going Interstate 4 West.

This guy, if it is the same guy, is pretty much going my opposite Ammibo route! :O

I bought a Zelda figure for my wife. She likes watching games, but isn't very good at playing them. We set her figure up the way she wanted, leveled it for a bit, and then fed it stuff until it was the glass cannon she wanted.

A few hours later at our Christmas party, we had a ton of people playing Smash. Instead of leaving her hostess duties to suck at Smash Brothers, she'd wander over, scan in her figure, and leave it to wreak havoc on other party-goers.

"How'd I do that time?" She'd yell from the kitchen.

"You killed everyone." We'd reply.

"Good."

My focus is now on this crazy ass kid that is (possibly) being spotted by multiple people and putting on the same show.
 
Anyone else going Pit hunting?

Would you be able to snag one for me to ship? Will pay for the item, shipping and a little extra for your trouble if you like.

Stare them right in the eyes with a big ole' grin on your face and say:

"To replace you."
 
So my Little Mac showed up today from my Best Buy preorder, and they actually did a really super job shipping it. Like, an appropriately-sized box and that inflatable plastic packing stuff and all of that. That was a nice surprise!

I'm seriously enjoying actually playing with them. At the end of the night when everyone was too tired to both drink AND play Smash, we just scanned in the figures and watched them go at it. It's effectively digital cock-fighting. Not to be confused with cock-magic though.

That's how mine was too. I was very pleased.
 
Used the target inventory checker. Found a store with villager, drove half an hour to get them. Wan had four, said someone came in before me and bought them all

That's what Im curious about too. I'm driving from north Alabama to south Alabama today. Stopping at every best buy, GameStop, and target along the way. Curious to know if I should be stopping at the walmarts too...

Oh man, that's like the Land of Walmarts, right? I guess you could stop by the first and sort of see if they're worthwhile.

Thanks for the heads up on Captain Falcon being up! At this rate worth the extra $5 in shipping so I can stop driving around looking for him, just Little Mac left to go
 
Got my Marth...eh.

I think it's slightly better than my launch one which I sold for $30 (The face sucked and I thought they would be restocked, then I bought this Japanese one for $28. A silly 3-4 week loop, yep. I probably just won't open this until/unless NoA confirms a real restock.

Ok so I was gonna go Pit hunting today, but honestly, I'm so tired from the past week of going every day. I'm just burnt out. I have him on order from BestBuy.com so I'm not too worried :-). Also, I live in the NYC area so any GameStop that would have had pit probably had them reserved and even if they didn't I've been in the boat where they won't sell it to me because I didn't preorder them.

I did check TRU in Yonkers at 8am this morning. No Pit. I'll try again tomorrow.

I'm really getting burnt out on the hunt now, and may just wait for the figures I preordered to come in via shipping.

I have everything preordered so I'm not missing anything. I just like to go and pick it up myself.
 
Not gonna lie, kind of worried Captain Falcon is order-able on the GS site but none have been shipped to stores yet. I have every figure from Wave 2 except him and I had them all reserved from GS so I have faith they'll get him in eventually. I'm just incredibly impatient lol

Haha yeah we are in no short supply of walmarts. There is one about 15 min from me now. In the middle of nowhere. I'll check it out and see how bad it is. I'm sure it will be all commons.

*edit*. Yup. Only wave 1 commons.
 
Just got a call from GameStop not too long ago. They received a Pit amiibo that was not reserved by anyone. Apparently, GameStop's are only getting one Pit per store? Take that with a grain of salt though. Thankfully they held it for me but if it is true that each GS location is only getting one, that's going to make it even harder for collectors.

I feel like I might need some form of proof, so here is a picture of the amiibo?

indeed. these toys are neat and all, but just barely worth face value. not anywhere near me wanting to pay over the $12.99 asking price.

now if they start producing 12inch amiibo's, yo, I'm down to pay the extra cash past the asking price for something like that.
 
Grabbed the last Pit at my Gamestop. They told me they only got their shipment in 20 mins before I arrived. Some other stores probably wont get theirs until later so keep trying!

Ha, mine should be arriving middle of January from Japan. I am just excited to load my amiibos into Smash and play against them. I throw away the plastic shell, but I do keep the cardboard backs.
