Has anyone in Europe gotten a shipping confirmation? ShopTo is still doing nothing, they charged my debit card though.

Bought the entire lot from Nintendo online shop and got mine delivered today but Smash is still in transit. They shipped yesterday.

amazon shipped my amiibo in 4 different order wtf amazon

Nintendo online shop sent mine in 8 different boxes - 5 singles, 2 duos, and a treble. So strange.

They also showed me the belt they have for the Smash WiiU Tournament they're holding this weekend

Got Mario, Pre-ordered Luigi and gonna get Sonic and Megaman when they drop

Did anyone order any of Wave I off of Target.com? How was it? I have three from Wave II, but I'm thinking I should just go to Target on the 12th instead if an online order. Seeing some of the quality control amiibo stresses me out.

Same here. Was one of the last few to pick up an Amiibo, they only had two Pikachu left and those would leave the store as well. Their initial stock was sold out for today, lol. Didn't see Killager, Wii Fit Trainer, Marth or Kirby. Everything else looked pretty good. The Mario one is great.

Still, Samus looks baller.
Sounds like stock at all Game Manias will be very limited until they get their next shipment. Weird that they often run into these problems.

Mediamarkt had boxes full of them. I was there when they started putting them on shelves. They had about 15 Link, Mario and Pikachu amiibo, but only 3 Villagers, Marths and Wii Fit Trainers. Not sure about DK, Kirby and the rest of the series but they seemed to have enough of them (about 8 each maybe).

Bart Smit didn't start selling them today, and Intertoys had about 3 different figurines but they put them together with some Skylanders. Didn't even reserve a special amiibo corner, lol... Kinda sad.

Hope they turn into a success. The figurines look really good against my expectations. Marth will always be a derp though.

Expectations based on the reddit thread?
I don't visit reddit, so no. I just saw how they changed appearance for the worse each time they were shown so I was afraid they would look really cheap once they ended up in mass production. I'm still sad that a lot of detail was lost in Marth's face and hair, and some other figures have weird small issues such as misaligned faces, but overall, most figures look pretty good.

Amazon.co.uk shipped my Samus and Pikachu, but not Kirby. Dunno if that means Kirby is more popular and they ran out?

You should paint it grey so that it looks like a statue of our great mayor

My idea was more "Revenge of MayorZILLA" but your idea is good a golden statue would be worthy of my mayor skills.

I guess I'll wait to stumble on a particularly ugly Amiibo to try my repainting skills (not sure it would be better in the end)

I trained three Amiibo to lv. 50 last night:

- Peach (codename "Ditzy," in white and red)
- DK (codename "Boosta," in pink, reference to "Jingle all the Way")
- Mario (codename "The Fonz," in black and white)

...and they all destroy me now. Like in a five-stock match, I'll get -one- KO before they beat me. And I haven't fed them anything.

In terms of training, I'd always start 1v1 using the same character as them. I'd use each special, nair, fair, bair, dair, uair, etc., several times each. I'd shield a lot, roll around, sidestep, air-dodge, grab, pummel and throw down, up, left and right.

In the second match, I'd use my main, ZSS, and go all-out against them. In subsequent matches, I'd use common speedy/power characters like Little Mac and Greninja.

Along the way, I'd mix in a match with all items on High, and make a point to pursue Smash Balls, etc.

As more amiibo were trained, I'd start mixing them into the training sessions from about lv. 30 onwards.

It feels so cool to have your own personal CPU opponent/partner that's stored in the figure. I really love this feature. I just don't know how to get loot from these guys.

Carrefour: Two visited, not a single thing to show that Smash/Amiibo was about to launch. Perhaps tomorrow?
Quick update for my town in France...

The Micromania (kinda similar to Game/Gamestop) I visited had several of them (the only ones I haven't seen anywere are Villager, WFT and Link). But of course they weren't cheap (they also broke Pokemon release date, but sell them at 49€ when the supermarket in the same mall will sell them for 34€), and they had the "great" idea to put stickers and, worse, staples in the boxes. Too bad :(

The Carrefour (supermarket) had a large cardbox display for amibos, another one for Smash and a third one for Pokemon. All were empty, but since the official release date is tomorrox, I'd say it's rather a release date issue.

Things aren't so bad, since out of three places I visited, two had at least 6 different amiibos, and the third one probably will have many tomorrow. Will hunt tomorrow for more.

I'm not sold on the Villager, but seeing how it seems to be rare (and I don't expect many restocks), I could add it to the shopping list. If only they would release Isabelle (and maybe Nook and a couple others)...

I was finally able to find Marth, and most recently got Villager. Really happy with Villager, but Marth's box has a crease... it's kind of annoying me.

We had a thread based on a reddit thread, where you saw a downgrade. That is what I'm referring to.

Kirby seems really undershipped and Internet the only way to get it.

I was going to but I decided to just go to the store on the sunday they come out as soon as they open to pick out the ones I want. Not worth the trouble of having to return them and get replacements when I can just go in and pick them out.

I originally bought Mario, Donkey Kong, and Kirby at launch. I also picked up Fox the other night, but I haven't got to using him yet. Overall though, I'm really happy with my purchases of these things! Got pretty good paint jobs on all of them, which makes me happy I cancelled my Amazon preorders and just bought them from retail stores.

Hoping to get Pit and Captain Falcon from wave 2, and Shulk and Mega Man from wave 3. Does anyone know which amiibos are retailer exclusive and where? I know Shulk is Gamestop exclusive, but I have no idea about the rest of them.

The Intertoys I visited had special Amiibo displays actually, right in front of the gaming section. Looked neat with the figures on top. Guess it depends on the store and the managers.

Really hoping for some succes too. Looking at the Skylanders stuff and at some of the Disney Inifity figurines the Amiibo's look a lot nicer imo.

So has anybody who ordered their Amiibos from ShopTo had them arrive already / not had the delayed dispatch email? I'm wondering if it's certain figures that are affected (only went for Samus here).

I'm hugely disappointed with ShopTo though as Smash (and Pokémon) haven't arrived and yet my colleagues who ordered from them and got it delivered to work like I did have already have both. One guy even got Smash on Wednesday.

I was slightly concerned about how my amiibos would look since I ordered them from Amazon, but both Link and Samus look ok. Link's sword is straight, thankfully.

I really like how Samus looks.

Picked up Marth today to go with my Samus, have every intention of getting more. Got Marth on the spot due to rarity.

Question is, do I open Marth and use him, as I quite enjoy battling amiibo, or do I keep him sealed and wait to play with the next one I buy?

I wanted to get one Amiibo, just to see how its functionality in Smash worked and came home with my bro Yoshi...I wound up intrigued enough with the "training partner" function enough that I didn't want to base my practice on just Yoshi, so while I wasn't as interested in most of the series 1 figures, I was doing some other shopping and somehow a Samus wound up in my basket.

That same store had only one Villager left too, and it looked like it was in good shape...I play Villaher though, and didn't want to play too redundant. Still, it looked so nice, and with all this talk of its rarity I'm really starting to regret not picking it up, too. I was only supposed to get one of these things! It was just supposed to be a quick novelty! D:

Open. My Marth amiibo is a beast.

Be glad that you got a straight one. Mine looks like she's drunk all the time... much like her owner -_-

I'm really curious to see if Amiibos are region locked. I have a US Wii U, but a JP 3DS, and I live in Japan...

Uuuuhhh...I don't really want to spend the money to find out.

that one looks like it has the lean to me.

It seems that so far they are not region locked.

Maybe a little bit but it's still way better than mine. Still, it's the only one out of the 12 I got that had an issue. Not terrible considering how mass produced these things are.

I saw one at target that didn't lean but the paint was really messed up. Oh well, the lean isn't really a problem for me.

Went to Best Buy for Black Friday to pick up a TV. Saw they had one Villager Amiibo left so I picked him up due to rarity and he'll sit next to my unopened WFT for now. Probably won't be worth anything in the long run but we'll see!

Not entirely sure why, but I picked up a Link.
The yellow support is a terrible idea, and the paint quality overall isn't the best, but I guess it's not bad for a figure that costs under $20. This was the least bent sword I could find.

The hair isn't great, but the face is a hell of a lot better than Marth's.
I wish he was a little more upright, but the support is what bothers me the most. Still, it's not like the figure is expensive, and it could be much worse quality than it is.There are some fun details in the model too, like Link's underarm chainmail window, and the engraved details on his pouches and boots.

So yea have all of wave 2 preordered at toysrus along with wave 3. And shulk at gamestop. Just need to preorder metaknight and rosa lina.

I know what you mean. I posted a few pages back that my Link amiibo looks less upright than some of the ones I saw here. I would at least like to see his face better. I kinda wish Sakurai made upright models for all of the characters so they didn't have to fuss with stands and such but what can you do?

The Brawl model would've been a much better looking amiibo than the Wii U one:

So I went to Toys R Us before work this morning, didn't see any Amiibo, asked an employee there... They didn't even know what a whats-it-called is. They didn't know if it arrived and when it would be sold.

So tempted to go down to GAME to collect some of the others since ShopTo won't get me mine today, but heard they don't have much stock.

Meh.

wow @ the thirst. wave 1 is pretty weak compared to wave 3. Wave 2 looks to be just as good as 1. amiibo is going to cost me as much as buying all three consoles :O

Well, hopefully by the time Zelda U comes out, we'll get a Link amiibo that's actually designed to be a figure without needing a stand.

Assuming of course that the whole amiibo thing even lasts that long. I don't know how popular it is right now with the masses, but I hope it's successful enough that we get to see what's next after the Smash roster is done.

We better get male WFT in a future wave. Poor guy doesn't even get his own logo even though it's in the game. That alone just makes me wonder.

Poor guy.

Ugh, I'm having a hard time finding the Villager at a reasonable price. I should have pre-ordered before launch. Oh well, lesson learned for wave 2

I was going to buy Link today but when I went back to the store he was gone...

I'm surprised how nice his face came out after the the abomination that is marth.
