It would be super cool if Nintendo did some kind of custom order service for mii amiibos. That way you can get an amiibo of your self in any mii fighting style you want.
They're working on it:

IGN said:
IGN: amiibo has the word "Mii" in it, is there a chance you'll allow players order custom figures based on their own Mii? If not, you can have that idea for free.

(Everyone laughs)

Takashi: It would be nice if we can make that happen.

Miyamoto: We do have a number of employees internally who want to be able to do something like that, and we're performing different experiments. So it's too late for us to steal your idea (laughs). There's different ways that we could do it and ordering could be one, or there's different structures that we could use. In fact, there is already an amiibo of my Mii.

Excellent

I'll be patiently waiting.

I forgot there even was a Marth Amiibo... then yesterday I thought "Oh yeah, I'd like to have one of those". Get on today to check, sold out literally everywhere.

Any tips on finding one for retail value?

Not to rub it in but thank god i preorderd. Just checked ebay and holy cow. Looks like 50$ a piece....

No news on Rosalina or Meta Knight preorders other than she's likely Target and he's (?) Best Buy whenever they get around to listing the figure, correct?

none so far but i preordered them from Japanese import sites cuz that's easier.

I want the Miyamoto Amiibo now and I know I'm never going to get it :'(

Miyamoto, Reggie, and Iwata seem like the most likely Amiibo Miis to get some sort of official release, imo. Not a major retail one, but maybe a club nintendo bonus or something.

I wouldn't be so sure that Marth is ever getting another restock. He isn't even listed on Toys r Us' website anymore. I think he was the first wave of shipment and is done.
I agree. I had an EB dm tell me that not only are they not getting any more Marth, but they will not be getting restock on anything until at the earliest January & even then it'll be mario link etc restock.

I highly doubt places are just one and done with these. They will restock, some places might stop carrying the less popular ones or not get as much in but they still will be somewhere. Villager, Wii Fit trainer and Marth are pretty much sold out everywhere in NA right? They seem to be selling well so I reckon they will get another shipment, same with Kirby, Yoshi and Villager in the UK. Seems a bit of a waste for Nintendo to put the effort into making them and manufacturing them to only release one batch of most of their first wave of Amiibo.

Like I said, AmiAmi has another batch of Marth available for preorder. Import if you're worried about him not being restocked. Same figure.

Are there any amiibo offers up right now? TRU has a sucky one with 10 dollar of a 35 purchase, but I'm looking for something better, and best buy just sold out on link.

all this talk about amiibos shortage...
I really think they are gonna restock, it's just that Nintendo didn't predict such a positive response:

according to this article: (Siliconera)
“The amiibo figure lineup for Super Smash Bros. will continue to be released even after this year-end sales season, and we hope that this will help to update store shelves,” Iwata said.

I'll never be able to find a Marth or Villager Amiibo. Learned my lesson, preordering from here on out.

I'm so close to just making a pre-order on Amazon or somewhere for a Captain Falcon amiibo but then I start to think "what if it arrives broken? What if it is really off model? What if it is slanted badly?" and then I think I should take my chances at one of the very few places in town that stock them. Then I think "well GAME are upping the prices because they are giant jerkasses so I don't want to spend £5 more for one there. And Argos has the whole thing where you give them the code and get what you're given unless you want to look like a giant douche" and then I'm back to online.
Amiibo are hard ;_;

At least I can order the more basic ones online, like Pikachu. No one has bad Pikachus right?

Also, I'm in the camp of I open my toys. It's all nice having them in boxes ready to resell but I like displaying my stuff on my shelf. Still waiting on my Figma Pit and Link to join Figma Samus, Jakks Pacific Yoshi and Mario and D-Arts Mega Man and whoever made the 20th anniversary Sonic toy. I need me as much of the Smash roster on my shelf as possible.

Anyways all the best of luck to those who've yet to pick up one.

All i know is I'm preordering EVERY one i intend to buy ...

At this point, I'd take a deformed Marth. I want them more to spar with than to display.

My blue-sky spend-too-much amiibo dream is Bowser Jr. and the other 7 Koopalings.
But that's over a hundred bones right there.

I'd love to get a Morton Amiibo but it's gonna suck when there is just Bowser Jr. Same with Olimar/Alph. I guess a good thing about splitting Lucina off as her own character is we'll get an Amiibo of her.

If the Koopaling alts were made as exclusive Club rewards, each a separate purchase at a probably hefty coin fee... there will be Club Nintendo code beggars in the streets.

Only had time for a quick photo earlier, so here are my impressions.

This is my first time dealing with any sort of NFC gaming figure, and the first thing I noticed is that they are expensive. Be it amiibo, Skylanders or the Disney figures, these things are marked up. This really hit home when I was at Target with a Samus amiibo in my hand; I shuffled two aisles over and there they had the World of Nintendo action figures -- the amiibo-sized ones were $3.99 and the (much) bigger ones were $9.99. This, compared to the $12.99 I was about to drop. Nintendo, Activision and Disney are making bank.

The second thing I noticed was that I still wanted the stupidly expensive things. They didn't have my second pick (Fox), but I flirted with that Donkey Kong amiibo for a long time. And I am a grown-assed man.

Consumerist stuff aside, my verdict is this: I'm into it. The little figurine is just damned cool looking (see my photo above) and I absolutely get the appeal of scanning a real-world object into a game-world -- it's neat, it's fun, it's addicting. My little Samus has already made for a great Smash Bros. sparring partner and item-gatherer, netted me a wicked Kart-ing helmet and brought me some solid items in Hyrule Warriors. I'll certainly pick up one or two out of each wave.

Going at it with my level 50 Marth Amiibo, Brath (shoulda been Brarth, will change it later), as Marth.

- 99 Stock.

- Battlefield.

- No Items.

I will be crushed.
