I'm irritated that I passed up on Marth when I had the chance.

Still, I checked out my a nearby Wal Mart tonight and saw they had 2 Wii Fit Trainers and one Villager in stock. I picked up all 3 with a Fox. I'm hoping to sell the other Wii Fit Trainer eventually, if it really is a one-time print.

I'll be keeping my eye out for the rumored Marth re-stock.
 
My local Meijer has had 1 Villager and WFT since launch, they still haven't sold yet. Is it true restock isn't coming on those characters? Should I go get them now?
 
I told myself they were a waste of money and I didn't want any of them

So I got samus yesterday and now she's level 40.
 
Man, I would love it if Canada does the same as the UK and doesn't have any retailer exclusive ones for Wave 3. But as of now, the exclusives are nowhere to be found online from Canadian retailers, and I don't want to wait too long to pre-order them. :/

Get it together Nintendo of Canada, dammit.
 
I was at the Nintendo World Store last week and they had about 8 Villagers when I walked in. I brought two to the register but was only allowed to buy one.

I might just give in and get a Marth off ebay. It kills the excitement of finding one in store but I have a feeling they start to go above 40 bucks (average price) soon.

The first real test will come once Wave 2 arrives.

Stores only have a certain amount of shelf space. If the new figures start to replace old ones, Amiibo speculation will definitely become a thing.

And that's a week and a half away..which means I should get it done now.
I was lucky enough to get 2 WFT and 1 Villager and an extra Fox (although I don't think he's actually that hard to find). I will open the extra WFT and be done with it.

If in 6 months the value of Marth, etc creeps down I will have no problem opening them for display/play purposes.

So did they not have Marth?

I bought my first batch of Amiibos soon after launch at the Nintendo World store and they were flush with everything. That lead me, maybe falsely, to believe that the NWS would continue to have everything. Oh man. If they're out, then I would definitely pick up that ebay Marth.

I was there last Friday and asked about Marth.
Two employess were standing there..one guy said no the other guy made some lame joke about having to take a boat to Japan to get one.

WFT and Villager were plentiful on the shelf. No idea how many they had in the back.
 
You guys are all making me want to pre-order wave 3........Are these things selling well? We want them to sell well so they keep producing them, right? :p

They seem to be selling pretty well. As for success or failure it depends I guess. If you are trying to seal them in boxes to hawk in 10 years you want as few as possible in the market. Otherwise you want them to sell and spawn other lines because you think they are interesting.
 
Was surprised to see like 6 Smash + GC controller adapter bundles in stock at a multimedia store I went to today. I thought those had become difficult to find.

I'm always looking for Amiibo in stores, but never is there a Kirby. Never. I only want a Kirby. u~u
There was one Kirby but with a horrible shape the first day they came out. Oh well, I can wait. It won't be until the Toon Link releases that I will aggressively try to claim my own as soon as I can.
 
Is there a full list anywhere of Amiibos sorted by wave and when they're going to be available. Gonna get as many as I can, I've never been a sucker for anything like this. Dunno why its changed me lol

Release dates vary by region but it is generally the case that Wave 2 is coming out later this month and Wave 3 is releasing in February.

That's correct, Amazon only charge once your items are dispatched to you.

They had more (DK, Kirby, Pikachu, Mario, Link) but I got her. Will start the training today (and pray for my console not to brick).

Also, I need Captain Falcon and King Dedede.

Noticed that Amazon have upped the price of Wave 3 to £13.33.

I was at Target yesterday and saw two Villagers and one WFT. Didn't know they were so hard to find or else I may have picked them up. The thing that surprised me most is that they were out of Yoshi! I bought all 12 at launch, but would like to have some unopened ones to hang on the wall too. Maybe I'll check back later today.

I've never seen a Marth in a store besides the two or three that were behind the counter when I picked up my pre-order.
 
Been trying to get a villager since release, I finally found one but it's 30+ miles away. So do I wait to until a new shipment arrives closer to my area or do I make the drive out there to pick up?
 
Wave 2 is soooo underwhelming compared to wave 3. Like it's not even close,can't wait to get sonic and mega man, and I'm gonna make sure I get shulk day one too. I have a feeling he's gonna be gone quick. Hopefully his face isn't too derpy.
 
I swung by my local Toys R Us to see the state of their Amiibos and I asked a few of the employees about it. They had the Nintendo boxes behind the tech counter and were in the process of opening them up and restocking (it was early in the morning). They only got 1 Marth figure out of all of their Amiibo shipments.

I had no clue the rarity was so real.

also finally tracked down a WFT at my local Meijer so happy
 
Crikey just bought 5 Amiibo in Lancashire and got a Marth DK Yoshi Samus and Link. Should I panic buy Marths? They had loads!

I think Zelda will be Wave 2's Marth. Her face/hair/crown just looks chunky and poor from the few pics I've seen. The one I'm most interested in getting next is Wave 3's Mega Man.

I don't see how there was ever DRM. An Amiibo at its base level is just like a programmable barcode, if you exact copy nothing can tell the difference because the bytes it reads are the same. The most it can do is a custom tag format as opposed to the NDEF standard which would be trivial to figure out. You can however, protect the write data so you can't arbitrarily write things to one without the key on the console it's registered to. I don't know yet if this was implemented or if it's plain data. I'm actually trying to do an Amiibo app to get into Android development.

Just ordered an extra Little Mac and Captain Falcon, both our major retailers have stopped taking preorders for those so looks like they will be sparse here in NZ. Already got a spare WFT, Villager and Marth from Wave 1 too.

The functionality aspect of the amiibo is cool, but I first and foremost want it for the figure itself, the extra functionality is a plus that I'll take with the figure I wanted to buy.

Same, which is why I haven't opened any yet. I'm sure I will, but the extra functionality isn't as exciting for me.
 
BTW, does anyone know what happened to the Rosalina amiibo? I can't seem to find her online to preorder!

Yea, I figured if I really want to use a particular amiibo, I'll just buy an extra when a game has a specific function I want to use on it.
