Hmm I guess I'll do that too. Is the European packaging similar to ours?

More similar than the Japanese one. I think it says "Super Smash Bros. Collection" for EU? I dunno.

The box size is the same for all region, just the text varies I guess.

Reporting from California Toys R Us.

Some Jerk went to store in the awful torrential rain at 8am, drenched the floor in water and bought all 7 Little Macs they had.

That jerk was me!

I also suck at taking pictures, but my socks and shoes are wet so I don´t want to get up.

My friends gave me money for 4 of them, one extra is for me and I´m hoping I can trade one of them for a Marth or some other rare figure in the future, Im also selling one of them at my store, I also got them at buy 1 get 40% off free!

This is unrelated to Amiibo but...

I stopped at TRU Canada looking for the Wave 2 Amiibo and they have a sale on all Nintendo and Pokemon toys. Picked up some of the rarer Jakk Pacific toys like Wario, Waluigi, and Diddy Kong (ironic cause I can't find the Amiibo).

So yeah, if you're looking for Nintendo toys in general TRU Canada has a sale on right now.

Wow you beat my 5 Macs I posted. After seeing how rare the are I wish i'd bought the rest if for nothing more than just passing out here a couple dollars for the trouble at a time. Maybe i'll swing back by after work I saw the case of 16 and assumed the early reports were wrong.

As for the talk earlier about how they come boxed everywhere may be different with mixed cases but my TRU got single character cases only. I asked to search the cases but the guy working knew his stuff before he even opened the case said what was in each one: 1 large case with 4 smaller boxes of 4 in each. 16 Macs and another case of 16 Zeldas.

Edit: also sucks that the inner box of 4 I got isn't labeled as Little Mac just has barcoding and Nintendo yada yada yada stuff on it. Woulda made a nice uber nerd collectible kinda like old Kenner Star Wars figure cases. :)

Went to my local TRU (Savannah, GA), and they had the usual wave 1 casuals, as well as Zelda and Little Mac. Plenty of Little Mac, only about 5 Zelda. I asked the employee working in the gaming department if any other ones came in, and he blankly asked me what amiibos were. He must be seasonal. I had my 2 year old with me, so I didn't want to push it further, and paid for Zelda/Little Mac and left.

I plan on going to TRU tomorrow on my lunch break to see if I can find any Diddy Kongs, Captain Falcons etc.

I work at a Best Buy, but our wave 1 Amiibos were handled poorly. I work in the Connections department and in the past, they have handled preordered stuff (Which I preordered wave 2) pretty poorly. We shall see.

Capt Falcon and wave 2.5 is out on 12/30

Grabbed a MK from Best Buy Canada.

Amazed that Diddy Kong seems to be completely gone already. I enter tournaments, damn it. I need that little fucker for practice.

How are the people at Nintendo not totally embarrassed with the current Amiibo situation? On Amazon Diddy is going for $130 (after releasing TODAY!), Villager is $150, Marth is $150, etc. Ebay is similarly priced too. They haven't even done a second shipment. It's like they want their fans to be pissed off at them. Seriously.

This whole situation is embarrassing.

It made my day to hear employees tell me over the phone, "sorry sir, we don't have any Little Macks or Doodoo Kongs at this time"

lol

I called Walmart yesterday and got an elderly representative in the electronics section, asked if they had any Marth Amiibos. He left for a little while and came back and asked me "You're talking about them Nintendo Ambiens, right? The little figures? We don't have any Marty, sorry!"

Nintendo is glad because this specific situation creates sales for them, even sales with people that wouldn't buy Amiibos in the first place that buys them to resell.

Also, toys always were this way, Nintendo is pretty good with limited stuff as well, it was said many times in this thread.

I don't remember nearly 30% of all Skylanders or Disney Infinity figures being impossible to find 1 day after release. Sure there are a few stand outs, but literally half the character's I've wanted have disappeared online within an hour and have disappeared from store shelves by the time I get off work.

Nintendo is merely helping ebay/kijiji resellers make money and creating a demand for the few people who hoard or resell to buy them immediately.

Tempted to pick one up and list it for $300 to create more hysteria among the flippers.

They're deliberately withholding stock for certain characters to pretend that they're in high demand. This is one of the oldest techniques in the book. Ultimately I think it will backfire once people realize how worthless these things actually are.

I think a second run is possible but Nintendo won't bother until all waves are out. Easy money.

Then you must not have been around for the first two Skylanders games. Beyond he initial fall release, each and every wave released up through Ninjini were met with anticipation and instant buyouts.

Eh, maybe you have a point with discontinuing certain figures, but with actual stock I think it's alright. I mean, there are pictures in this thread of single characters having multiple rows and stories about buying a good number of a single character.

Actually, they were, especially Skylanders.

I call bullshit. Did a quick scan just now and I found multiple "Buy It Now" auctions for Diddy priced at $25.00. If anyone has him priced at $130 they are living in a fantasy land.

My friend loves Skylanders and made a list of character's she wanted. I made note of which Amiibo characters I wanted (8-10). It's been way harder finding Amiibos.

Don't even get me started of DI. Those were really well stocked by comparison.

Yeah but those are not "normal toys". I mean, the are used to unlock stuff in Nintendo games. I find it very unfair for kids that will never be able to have a figure of their favorite character and use it with their Nintendo games.

I remember a pretty big seller on AMZ, i think it was hitgaming that would always put up older games for sale in $100+ range. Games that you could still get at gamestop used.

Luckily the figures don't unlock exclusive content - everything in Smash is available in-game, the figures are just a CPU player you can train/fight. If this had been a situation where you can't play as Marth without the Marth figurine then there'd really be something to be upset about.

Finally got the Little Mac I've wanted since these things were announced.

I certainly won't be buying more than this... right?

But Captain Falcon looks so amazing...

I think it's interesting we've gone from "These are so worthless, who would buy them?"

To

"These are so valuable, I can't get them"

Verify payment information and billing address. Mine is still active and the site says there are 9 pre-orders left.

EDIT: Nevermind, now it's sold out. Holy shit...
Yup. It had 53 in stock when I added it to my cart, and when I confirmed it (over the course of 3-4 min) it was all sold out.

My Amiibo order(s) from Amazon.ca have shipped.

Yoshi
Samus
Fox
Kirby
Diddy Kong
Little Mac
Princess Zelda

I have Marth, Villager, and Wii Fit Trainer on the way from Japan.

I have Meta Knight pre-ordered.

I am now officially one of you. I fear for my wallet.
