Finally found a Little Mac at a Gamestop. I think they actually sold me a preordered copy and quickly removed the other 2 copies they had on the shelf and told each other it were reserved copies.

I checked out too many stores tonight and I'm totally exhausted. No more hunting these down without calling the store first. I'm just gonna save myself the hassle and pre-order all of wave 3 and the rest of wave 2 if possible (picked up Zelda, Diddy, and Little Mac so far).

Thanks! Yeah, it might be for best since Amiibo is more likely to be around for long time.
 
Holy hell if I didnt impulse buy all 3 2.0 figures today at Toys R Us I might have been really upset at Best Buy. What is going on with them. Major retailer and they are going a week later than TRU? I bet it is only time before they delay the other two. These figures are causing some headaches for sure.

They did it with Villager, they had the release date as some day in December for some reason, then they made it earlier and sent me a $5 off coupon... I finally got it last week.

I'm in no rush to get my Amiibo, I'm just hoping they honor my damn preorders.
 
Ugh, I got the email from Best Buy about the Little Mac delay. There's no way I'm cancelling though, since it seems like every store is selling out so quickly. I don't have time to go around checking stores around me, otherwise I might do that.

That was two days ago... The following is from Toys "R" Us tonight. Like I said, if you see an Amiibo you might want, pull the trigger. Wave 2 is flying off of the shelves.

Toys "R" Us: Still no Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, or Marth. Little Mac is gone. And there was one Diddy Kong left. Plenty of Zelda's.

And this caught my eye on the way out. These were by the checkout lanes, so if you're at a Toys "R" Us check there too. This is where I found the only Diddy Kong.

MN gaffer reporting in (Twin Cities), my local TRU had no Little Mac, Diddy, or Fox but a handful of Zelda's. I convinced myself to check Target next and to my surprise they had 3 Little Mac's and 4 Diddys (they were well stocked overall, just missing the rares from wave 1). Despite deciding earlier to only pick up Zelda, I felt obligated to get Little Mac and Diddy (level of derp seems to depend on the angle you're looking at him). These things have a hold on me.
 
Ok my friend picked me up Little Mac, so when I procure it on Monday at work, I'll cancel my Best Buy order :-).

I'm missing Marth / Villager / Fox / Yoshi. I didn't get Fox or Yoshi yet cause I think I may get them for Christmas.

Everything else is pre-ordered online with the exception of Shulk. I'll go into gamestop and pre-order that one. *Shudders*. Uggghhh.
 
God damn target and their stupid street dates... I didn't know these damn things had any street dates on them. I mean, I was actually just in gamestop shopping for my nephew, and the manager who sorta knows me told me how they got more amiibo figures in, but had sold out of all except one Diddy Kong.

I figured since they were out, I'd go across the street to check out Target. They had 3 Zelda on the shelf, and she's what I really wanted. "oh, we can't sell this to you" I must have bitched to 2 managers, and none of them did anything for me. One idiot tried saying it's not their fault that their stock people put it on their shelf, and i'm like "Yes it is!, it's not MY fault"
 
I found a wal-mart that still hasn't set up the amiibo display. It just has the touch screen thing with the amiibos in the plastic case but no actual amiibos for sale.
 
Picked up my Gamestop preorder of Little Mac this evening. My store only received enough figures for their preorders:

- 2 Little Mac
- 1 Zelda
- 1 Diddy

So I guess if you want any of Wave 3 you'd best get your preorders in.

Yeah, I already posted my explantation about the situation. That's what a worker told me. It's unfortunate situation with production company so they really want to delay the release date by one more week.

This. I am very wary as to how well BB will handle their pre-orders with the unexpected demand. All too often I've been screwed by places like Amazon because companies don't seem to adhere to FIFO (first in, first out) order fulfillment.
 
About to make the trek out to my local Toys R Us. I still need to grab Fox and I'm hoping to see Wave 2 so I can just buy it and tell Best Buy to kiss my ass.
 
Man, seeing all these proper store displays for Amiibos in America is pretty amazing. Australian retail still doesn't know what the hell to do with them. I've seen everything from incredibly small but dedicated shelving areas (Target), mixing them in with fucking pre-owned DS games of all things (EB) to literally just throwing them on the floor in a pile where they get dirty and broken (Kmart).
 
Hmm seems like I might have gotten lucky. I didn't get any grief about a street date at the Target I went to. Although the cashier did seem a little distracted/out of it....
 
Hit up a Target, Walmart, Toys R Us, and 2 game stops in MA none of them had any of the wave 2 figures or places on the shelf for them.

Looks like I'll be going out early Sunday morning or something.

That's cool you've gotten some kind of communication. I haven't heard anything, and when I check my order, Zelda, Mac and Diddy all say "Order Status Not Available." I can't even find that on the Best Buy website to know what that means.

I'm really disliking how Nintendo is handling this, as far as low-production/poor communication with retailers and consumers.

For anyone on the fence about unboxing... I highly recommend doing it. I finally caved and they look sooo good out of the box. Will post pictures of my little set up in a bit.

Also, I didn't realize until now that my Marth's face looks very good compared to some others I've seen online. Well, at least as good as Marf *can* look.
 
My local Best Buy had them available, so said the official BB website. I get there and they find me a Little Mac and Zelda in the back (as they weren't on the shelves yet). I go to check out and am told they in fact can't sale them to me despite what their website says.
 
Wait, what's going on with Best Buy? Are the wave 2 amiibo being released early, with those of us who were waiting for the actual release date out of luck already?

I just wanted Zelda, Pit, and Captan Falcon...

Just picked them both up at Target. Funny thing is I was there in the morning to check to see if any of wave 2 came in. Guy working electronics said no but sometimes UPS delivers things in the afternoon so maybe try back later. Went out to the gym an hour ago and since Target is on way home figure I'd just stop by and check again. And boom there they are. Only had one 1 Little Mac left and 2 Diddy's. They had like 8 Zelda's there but I already have her on order so I didn't pick her up. She seems like an easy one to pick up anyway.
 
Dual-wielding Marth? Regular Marth is rare by itself, so this must be super-ultra rare! I foresee it being sold for a lot of money.

Doesn't look as cool as dual-cannon Samus though. That left arm looks odd
 
well after a target best buy and toys r us its looking like I'm SOL. They did come out from what I can tell but were bought out immediatly. The toys r us employee told me someone was in line when they opened to buy them. This is quickly going from a trying to collect them hobby to trying to beat the scalpers. Kinda ruins the fun. Anyways I did manage to get Zelda because Tru had a lot of those.
 
Well...

Apparently when I preordered Lucario on my phone this morning, I accidentally ordered 2.... and there is no way to "edit" the order. Strange.

I guess I can just return it once it gets here.
 
after collecting skylanders for 3 games when i first saw amiibo i told myself i was gonna limit myself on which ones i buy and so far i have stuck to my guns as i only got 8 out of 12 for the first wave and im only getting 3 out of 6 from the second wave the 3rd wave though is where things get messy ; ;

could always sell it to a fellow gaffer who might have missed out i know i would gladly paypal you money for it when it comes out if i cant snag one.
