No kidding. I was dead set on collecting just the Mario-related characters, plus Link and Zelda. Until, of course, we all realized just how limited some of these others will be.

It's not that I want to use (or even display) Wii Fit Trainer or Diddy Kong. It's the idea that, should I WANT to at some point in the future, I have no choice but to buy them all now.

yeah same here, it's been really discouraging to say the least. I'm not able to just purchase all of them at once, and it's been crappy realizing some of the ones I wanted probably won't be coming back and are very rare. I've heard people importing, and I've been considering it now for Villager.

All I hope is that I can get a guaranteed Ness. I would end up really sad if I missed out on the Ness Amiibo :(

We don't know. We know some (Villager, WFT, Marth) are near-impossible to find right now. We know stores aren't likely going to be restocked with them anytime soon. We don't know if they'll never be restocked again. And Nintendo has been very coy with their statements, since this discontinue-frenzy is causing people to buy stuff they might not even want.

They almost did that with my gc adapter. went to pick it when they called me but when I got there the guy said there was reserved adapters but said he could sell me the spare one he had behind the counter. Had I showed up any later it probably would have been sold off.

Ugh tell me about it. I have a boxed Villager and WFT just sitting there. I was going to sell them, but now I'm scared I'll want them as soon as I don't have them, and have to find them all over again. I don't know what to do! I'm too scared to make a decision!

I wasn't even going to get them. I only got them because TRU was having that crazy sale. I don't even care for the characters. What was I thinking?!?!?!

I have to figure out if I actually want to keep one or both of them, or if I only want them because of their scarcity. If it's the latter, I'll sell them or give them away. But I don't actually know what I waaaaaaaaaaant.

(And yes, that elongated "a" is meant to sound like a whine. I realize this is fucking stupid, since they're just figurines. This is how confused I have become.)

Well, stores near me all have restocked Marth, Wii Fit Trainer and the villager. I mentioned it a few days ago that I don't believe in these rumors (at least for Europe) regarding shortages and I am still convinced right now ;)

Amazon Germany also restocked these three yesterday. Europe definitely got more of them

Like I said last night, I was trying to resist opening them since they launched (because the boxes look so great) but I finally ripped them all open last night. So glad I did. The figures look so good out of the boxes. If you're on the fence, do it!

Plus, it takes up less space and now you can actually use them!
 
If Rosalina is a Target exclusive in Canada I'm going to lose my fucking mind trying to get one.

target.ca doesn't have an online shop, my local store has 'no idea' when inventory will arrive or go on the shelf, and advises me they get shipments every second day.

The store is also located nowhere near where I live or work.

Yeah im just going to go for my favorites. I want link but im sure he will be restocked for a while. Ness for sure if they make him, duck hunt dog, rob, and Mr Game and Watch will be when i really will do anything to get one.
 
Gah, these amiibo releases are so frustrating. None of wave 2 has appeared in my area yet.

I've been calling and checking in-person every store in town daily since the reports of wave 2s in-the-wild started coming out this week, and still nothing. Before today stores just told me they had no idea when they would arrive, but today a Toys R Us employee actually said to me "I don't think wave 2 is supposed to be out until after Christmas." I was just like "...uh-huh..."

Then every day I get home and check online to see hundreds more pictures of purchased wave 2s all over the internet, and reports that stores are already selling out of them. *cry*

This might be the most first world problem ever, but still so annoying. I think I'll be ordering online from wave 3 onwards.
 
These Amiibo releases are pretty rough, especially when compared to normal game releases like I'm used to.
...it's not as bad as the Jakks Pacific Nintendo releases though. Not even a release window given, no pre orders, limited supply. I got the last Link figure and I haven't seen any since
 
Went into GAME to check out the second wave today, they all actually looked great, but now they're £14.99! Seriously GAME?

May get Pit, Luigi and Captain Falcon from Amazon.

Do Game actually have the second wave in stock? They're not supposed to be out in the UK until the 19th.
 
Does the Target app or site have a notification option, or do I need to get a pair of Google Glass specs to display the Rosalina page to me constantly and somehow rig a page refresh button to my footsteps or maybe my heartbeat?
 
My Marth from eBay came today. $45 with shipping. Plastic on box got a tad crumpled in one spot and the sword is ever so slightly bent, but overall, I am a happy man!

Do I take him out of the box? I am leaning towards yes. I wanna play with the sucker.
