Been trying to add it to my cart for store pickup for about a week, but it doesn't let me. Hoping I'll be able to do it after midnight.
Sort of considering going to the local 24 hour Best Buy at midnight, but I don't know if it's worth it.

Isnt this what happened with beanie babies? Random release dates, some stores getting early, fear then drives the customer to go to the store constantly and consume. Brilliant marketing

Just came back from Mediamarkt (same store as where Dawg bought his Cpt. Falcon, judging by the identical store display) l, they had all of Wave 2 and quite a lot of them too. When I left there were still around 4 Little Macs and Cpt. Falcons left.

Yep there's been no proof yet of NA buying Pit and Falcon in any stores yet only Luigi.

The port strikes more than likely have a lot to do with our odd shipments.

I went to a Target in Southern California last night and the only wave 2 fig they had was Zelda (just one, still there far as I know)
BUT
They had signs out on the shelf for Mac, Diddy, Pit, Falcon and Luigi. Their slots were all empty but I asked the guy working and he implied they had received a shipment and already sold through.
He did his voodoo on the computer and said they were expecting a truck with all 6 wave 2 figurines on it this friday.. He was really knowledgeable about the figures, knew them by name, very professional and helpful, and he said I wasn't the first one to come in asking for Amiibos, so I trust him that they're expecting a shipment on Friday, he wasn't blowing me off or anything.
Oh, he also said Marth is discontinued...

i work at that walmart and we never even got 2a in, to my knowledge. i think i've only ever seen 1 shipment in past the initial shipment

I'm keeping my cool but it is hard to not be extremely bitter with how easy it seems to be to acquire these in Europe. It is a goddamn travesty that we are fighting tooth and nail every day, losing sleep, friends helping friends/and or strangers for certain ones and yet other countries you can just waltz in and get whatever you want pretty much without issue.
I'm quoting you but I hold you no ill will or disdain. From a NA standpoint, this situation has just been frustration from beginning to end.
And then there is this shit. The uncertainty that NA will ever see Marth or the other two holy trinity again (outside of NYC because fuck the rest of us apparently) is nauseating and just simply unfair.

Even though I know it's probably pointless, I'm going to Best Buy, TRU, Wal-Mart, Gamestop, and Target over my lunch hour in search of Pit and Captain Falcon. At the very least, maybe I can get a Lucario pre-order card.
I did get a small thrill when I found Luigi the other day, so just hoping to recreate that same magic. It's much more exciting to happen upon them in the store than it is to get them in the mail.

There's a sale at TRU? I've already been there twice this week.
It's just today from what I gather. Buy two amiibo for $22. It worked on their site, as I nabbed Pit and Luigi (and canceled my Luigi pre-order from Amazon).

. Some figures are rarer than others here (Kirby, Wii Fit Trainer and Villager are rare sightings) but they can still be obtained if you import them from another country's amazon store. And stores do seem to get new shipments in from time to time so if you time it right it's still possible to get the rare amiibo from retail stores.I hope that the US shortages are tied to the port strikes and that stores will be resupplied soon and scalpers will give up. Amiibo collecting should be fun activity/hobby, and not frustrating. The stories I'm reading here about people refreshing Target in the middle of the night just so they won't miss out on Rosalina sound like absolute madness. Also read some tweets from friends in the US who stopped buying amiibo because it's too much effort already to get them all. That just makes me sad
.On the other hand, it's very heartwarming to see that lots of Gaffers here and willing to help each other out! If it would help anyone I'd buy the last Marth here and ship it to them but unfortunately euro > dollar price and outrageous shipping costs to the US would make it far too expensive to be of any benefit to anyone

Just stopped in Toys "R" Us and they had around 12 or so Luigi's. And they're completely sold out of all the Zelda's they had last week.
Also, my Toys "R" Us has a Thursday only, in store only, special of 2 Amiibo's for $22.
So I picked up myself a Luigi and my brother a Peach for Christmas. Some of the Luigi's I saw had an off center "L" on his hat, so watch out for that.

Amazon takes packaging feedback. They have likely received returns and complaints for poorly packaged amiibos and now know they are being sought by collector types. Sometimes they will even temporarily stop selling an item to reevaluate how they are packing/shipping an item if too many people complain. What you see in your packaging is probably a result of such complaints.
