Just pre ordered rosalina. Can't wait to have it canceled like lucario. :(

I think I'm going to just give up. This is too frustrating.

In for 2. I suspect there will be a lot of people out there in for 10 or in for 50 for that matter. I don't have any plans to scalp, I just recognize the rare opportunity and thought it'd be nice to have a backup for who-knows-what.

Seeing how we can't preorder from target.com and target.ca doesnt even have a preorder option ... Can any gaffer in the states help me with Rosalina ? I will pay for the shipping fee and all that

that's weird then. i put 2 in and it still tried charging me. whatever, i got my rosalina.

double weird. i put 2 different ones in and now it says free shipping.

Odd request here. if anyone is getting japanese amiibos and doesn't want the box, can i have your backer cards (if you can open them without damaging the cards)?
 
What the hell. I got through all of the order information, got to the last prompt, and then it kicks me back to my cart and says Rosalina has been removed and is unavailable, and I can't add it back.

WHYYYYYY.

Sold out of preorders for today I guess. It seems between 530am-6ish everyday they open it up. Try tomorrow.
 
oh wow gone already. maybe i should have ordered a 2nd one after all. christ. there are going to be some pissed off people in an hour lol
 
Man, that sucks for people that haven't been hovering on the Rosalina thing like we have been. I noticed that the text alert that I set up on nowinstock.net immediately worked this time right as she opened up, so maybe that tipped more people off this time (I guess that's a good tip for any GAFfers who didn't manage to snag her this time around, too)

That reminds me of trying to order a Wii back in...2007-2008 maybe? I seem to recall some site dedicated to sending you a text message when any sites got a Wii in stock so you didn't have to use eBay.

It took a while, but I might have finally managed to hit an Amazon in-stock window thanks to the notifications.

Plus I had my Lucario preorder cancelled AND my Captain Falcon was just delayed until mid-January. Not a great way to wake up.
 
This is just like trying to get an HP Touchpad in 2011 when it went on a fire sale. Normally $599, it was cut to $99 and sold out instantly. It popped up on bestbuy at 4 AM later that night and I got it somehow.

Same thing with PS4. Sold out everywhere, appeared on bestbuy at 3 AM, and got it.

Got Rosalina too.

I'm on a roll.
 
Why is Target doing this? I put my computer to sleep and was readying for bed and check back on GAF and discover right about when I put the computer to sleep was when pre-orders went up...

That's probably part of it, those diehard collectors who'll never open the boxes. Honestly though I think it's more people just not reading the posts, lol

Besides, how many of us are really buying these to not display them? They look so much better opened than they do in the packaging.

Also, you're probably right in that people want domestic ones because of the hype. So much of this Amiibo crazyness is only due to the hype surrounding it, and people like the chase and hunt to find these things. So when presented with an easy option to achieve said goal, so people would at that point not want the item at all since it's been handed to them on a silver platter and isn't as fun.

I think that's a matter of preference. Even as a little kid I didn't open my toys, but left them sealed. I didn't like throwing away the packaging because that always felt like part of the toy to me, so I hung all of my packaged toys on my walls.

Same with my amiibo. They're all (going to be) displayed, but they will stay in their packaging. Although, I don't know how much longer I'm going to be collecting these especially if they keep doing retailer exclusives and the retailers fuck up those orders...

I actually checked the site from your original post but the search wasn't finding Rosalina for some reason. Thanks for the direct link.

Shipping is a bit more to California but I think I'll give it a shot just for peace of mind.

Hehehe, yeah, that stuff was pretty cutthroat ;-) You and me both... memories...

Mentioning it for a new page: Nowinstock.net's text notifications DID work this time (right away) for Rosalina preorders, whereas they kinda pooped the bed the first time around. So if you didn't get her this time, you might want to try signing up over there.

That's true. I was hoping to get her at AmiAmi and maybe bundle her with my Lucina figma I pre-ordered. Though I don't see how you can get Rosalina for 15 dollars shipped though. Shipping itself is like 10 dollars. Am I missing something?

Edit: It says free shipping now. Weird...

Edit 2: Reached the end and it's costing me shipping. What am I missing?
 
And of course now I have to get Wave 3 from gamestop who doesn't know how to combine orders so I pay $3.50 in shipping for every item. Yippie, thanks TRU, you screwed me over.
