Last night I finally found part of wave 2, got Zelda, Luigi and Diddy, but when I asked about the other 3 they just told me they had no release date yet, so I guess they won't be available until January or something, I found them in Mexico btw.

My Little Mac should come in the mail soon. Hopefully, they will actually knock on the fucking door this time.
 
So I'm starting to have a pretty big collection of these amiibo but still don't have a Wii U lol. Does anyone know of any good deals for the console this week?

He might end up being rare, but I think (in the US at least) it's just because he hasn't even really released anywhere big yet. A few Gamestops may have had him, and FYE and Meijer had some. That's the only reason he's ridiculously rare right now.
 
Man, NeoGAF has become AmiiboGAF for me. I've abandoned all other threads. Lol.

Still missing Marth. Would trade a Pit or Little Mac straight up but no luck.

EDIT: Anyone NA Amazon orders ship yet? Not to sound like a broken record but I just like to check especially to make sure I'm not getting singled out and screwed over. My Pit/Falcon/Luigi all still say "Not yet shipped" so i surmise I gotta wait til 30/31 which I've been hearing is the "true" street date? What's odd though is Zelda is being delivered today

Zelda was part of Wave 2A (with Little Mac and Diddy). Falcon/Pit/Luigi are 2B.

Ugh man. Last week Target had the best deal... a week before Walmart had MK8 bundle for 299.99 and 50 bucks back.

You can always hope for after Christmas sales trying to get those gift certificates. That being said mine was a Nintendo refurb this summer and is excellent.
 
So I opened my first Amiibo after going crazy looking for and purchasing them, and I'm not even 100% sure how to use it. I loaded it into Super Smash Bros. If I play on someone else's console, should I bring it with me and load it onto theirs? Will that level it up, or is it tied to my console?

I don't know man, I have a feeling that it will be very hard to find anyways, what are the chances of it running out of stock in Japan, and what should I be wary of if I use Play-Asia?

I've been seeing lots of Luigi around, I though he was part of wave 2a.

I would personally use Nippon-yasan, they have CF in stock last I checked and you can import it for about $20 compared to Play-Asia's $28.

Seriously though, besides Marth he's also my most wanted Amiibo. I was fortunate to get a Marth day one but I'm already feeling like it's going to be a struggle to get Pit.

fortunately I'm in Canada and he's not released here yet, so it certainly isn't out of the realm of possibility.
 
Does anyone know the situation in Japan with the stateside store exclusives like Shulk? Are they limiting them here too?

I'm down to needing 5. Villager , Peach, Pit, Yoshi, and Diddy Kong. Then I'm good to go for wave three which has some of my favorite characters.

You can load up one game data at a time per figure.
I think doing it via Amiibo menu in Smash will load up Smash data into the NFC chip.

Also it is sad Diddy Kong is being killed before he even came out.
I will give Pit a chance on 12/30.

Has anyone bought a Marth off eBay from Japan? I do not understand how the shipping works. It says "FREE SHIPPING FROM OUTSIDE US"

So, I live in the US. What shipping costs might I encounter?

EDIT: Well, I bite the bullet and bought a Japanese Marth. I do not need the packaging. Should arrive by boat January 19! ;) $35. Not too bad overall for Marth.

That's the official street dates for 2B, yeah. Unfortunately, they've been randomly getting dispersed earlier for some reason. Whole thing is a mess.

You can bring it with you, you're actually encouraged to. It only works for Smash matches though. you just scan it at the character select screen and you're good to to go. Make sure that when you're done that you back out of Smash from the character select screen so you get the prompt to save your Amiibo's progress. If you want to see what items your Amiibo earned go to the amiibo mode under games & more. This is where you feed equipment, change specials, etc. Again, make sure you back out to save any changes.
 
My Little Mac and Zelda just arrived from Amazon. That leaves Pit for wave 2, and I ordered him through Toys R Us the other day. They haven't sent me anything telling me the order is canceled so here is hoping.

I bought Link from the Target by my house last week, but I don't have a Wii U or anything, I just think they're cool. The only other ones I'm interested in are Samus, Bowser, and Little Mac. I'll check the Target near my job to see if they happen to have Samus. I don't expect much. It's not a big Target. I'm in Los Angeles.

Okay so according to the Gamestop people Pit should be out today. As for Captain Falcon, he doesn't show up on their shipments. So knowing how Gamestop gets their orders I wouldn't expect him for another week or so there…at least in NY.
 
Sods law, the only two I wanted (villager and wii fit trainer) seem to be rare ones, found them today for £11 (cheers local Tesco!)

You guys are going to hate me, but I took them out of the box - I could almost hear your screams as I opened them.

They look boss under my monitor.
 
Has anyone in Canada seen Luigi/Pit/Captain Falcon? I preordered Captain Falcon and Pit from Amazon but haven't received a shipping notification and I'm starting to worry since people have been seeing them in stores for about a week now.

Nothing in Canada. Luigis in Vancouver and Toronto. Seems we are a week behind.
