As did I. I ordered it around 9:20 PM CST. Money is gone from my account, so hopefully I'll get a shipping notice tomorrow, since it is kinda late.
Open is just the status before shipping is complete. They don't take the money till it's actually able to be shipped, so it'd be safe to assume if money is gone, you're getting one... I hope.
Mine got through, though from what the message said that it'll appear around Dec 30th.
I'm cautiously optimistic about this.

The TRU eBay store has lots of negative feedback for selling items only to cancel for no stock. I doubt I'm getting anything from them.

Was just able to successfully order Luigi and Captain Falcon from GameStop's website. Who knows when/if they'll actually show up without GameStop canceling the order, though... gonna keep looking around in stores (Los Angeles area) in the meantime and hope I get lucky.
Pit still isn't available at GameStop.com, though. No leads on him.

TRU's ebay store has horrible inventory management. You'll order something from them only for them to cancel the order and refund your money to paypal. And then that order sticks in your ebay account for 30 days, taunting you.
Happened to me with a Villager back on the 6th.
Yeah, there was an opening for Falcon on the TRU eBay page a couple of days ago.
Unfortunately, it's not there at this time.

Geez I haven't checked on him in a while. (Caught up in the hunt for Pit) I did not expect him to sell out as well.
Ok, so I figured out why the wal-marts near me have not received a single wave two shipment. They don't actually receive them at the store, a Nintendo vendor still stocks them. Apparently the vendor comes every once in a while to update the supply. I remember this specifically happening at Wal-Mart when Skyward Sword came out, nobody could pick the game up because the vendor was really late on the day of release.
Does anyone have any recent experience with gamestop online pickup and amiibos? I wish my friend still was a manager because I could easily get the scoop on everything going on. I have a order for shulk, sheik and Ike. I plan to hit Target, Toys R Us and then gamestop on february 1st. After that, I think I'm done until Zero Suit Samus and or pacman if that ever happens. I was thinking about toon link but I'll wait until the new zelda game comes out for a figure from that game.

Exactly. I'm not gonna part with my Little Mac, Marth & Cpt. Falcon for retail price, but if someone comes up to me and is dumb enough to pony up $70 for a single one of them, I'm probably not gonna say no
(except maybe for Cpt. Falcon since he is awesome as fuck)

I feel so relieved I pre order Shulk earlier (assuming Gamestop won't cancel it later). I wonder if Gamestop get extra shipment of Shulk will they sell it as used and upped the price just like the game
I once saw a employee at gamestop unwrapping new copies of atlus game and putting used stickers on them but I also saw someone else open up a box of xenoblade and they didn't have any shrink wrap at all...weird. I can see them ordering another manufacturing run months later and selling them for like 20 bucks though.

Wait, what the hell? Am I reading this right? Toys R Us had Villager available online for a brief period today? WTF? I had an order that was canceled during that mass cancellation, and now someone else got one that should have more likely gone to me? How friggin annoying.
On the subject of Toys R Us, they seem to have put out Wave 3 preorder cards in store today when they weren't there yesterday. So cards are probably trickling in if they haven't already at your local store.

the implementation of amiibos is kind of pointless right now. you can't even take them outside of local smash mode. so you can't do the various modes with them, you can't take them online, etc. It's very tacked on and pointless. I think most people buy them for the figures themselves more than any game functionality, because no real functionality exists.

I've actually really enjoyed fooling around with the Smash Bros implementation. There are some insidious power ups you can give the amiibos and even a default lvl 50 amiibo is way harder than a "9" computer opponent.
Being able to name/have set costume helps make them feel more like they have a personality and less like a mindless computer. I've crafted a particularly obnoxious Link (named "Zelda") that strikes fear into my friends and family when I pull him out and throw him on the gamepad

Other places weren't much better, Big W had 3 Pikachu, and JB Hi-Fi had a few each of Pikachu and Mario and a single Link.
Im not getting these pictures: is this "picked up clean" or "dont even care to stock it properly and just put random stuff on it"?

I was passive about them as I didn't have a Wii U at the time. Judging from the general reaction here, I assumed it was something more. Maybe it's just me but I feel the commercials are a bit misleading.

Yup she leans. Even more so than when I got her on launch, which is strange. I'll be looking around for a replacement soon.
Gotta have 'em all! Thank god I'll never get into Skylanders or I might just die.

I love the art style on the Marvel figures,the Venom one looks amazing. I want to collect them but I'm waiting on a killer sale for those.

$8 at Best Buy this week with GCU discount if you have it ($10 without). Better than most B2G1 at other retailers.
Considering getting into Disney Infinity too. I just love those characters too much. Well, at least the classic ones. No interest in Skylanders.

Honestly most of amiibo-gaf is probably just the materialistic type that like the idea of collecting physical renditions of the smash trophies. the AI fighter feature and costumes in mario kart are bonus features to most people. The exception is link who actually unlocks a unique piece of dlc in another game.
We can already play as the characters too, and can already save custom loadouts of equipment and b-button moves on the console itself. An AI pet that levels up and allegedly learns is better than a thing that only serves as a memory card for equipement loadouts (though both would certainly be better)
Maybe it'd have been neat if the levelling system were applied to playable characters too, for a smash mode where utterly broken dudes can battle it out. I guess that's still possible if everybody makes equipment loadouts locally. Is that more what you expected from the amiibo?
