The cards thing is more a "we're thinking about alternatives" thing, so like 3 or 4 years from now people can still buy Smash Bros character Amiibo Cards to use with Smash Bros even if they never work with other games or have second printings.

Right now the demand is just outpacing the supply. They'll both even out once we're past wave 3 I bet.

The reason why there is this much demand is because they are seen as being rare/collectibles.

Nintendo is going to mess up that perception by going back to restock past figures when they still have the other Smash characters to release in planned waves? I think this is going to last throughout their Amiibo releases.

I cant get over how good he looks, in fact I dont think I have seen a single bad or even average looking Pit yet, best looking amiibo by far so far imo.
 
I have a boxed Marth that I want to trade for a Little Mac...

Let's hope if I manage to get one that it doesn't get stolen again.

I won't be able to get my preorders on wave 3 possibly well past 48 hours. Already added a note to hold it past that and no joke I'll be getting with the higher to make sure they stick with it since they said it would be no problem.
 
Can anyone confirm or deny this:

I thought I read somewhere that if you use an Amiibo on more than one game, it will lose its save data.

If true, does it mean that if I scan in Link to Hyrule Warriors or Captain Falcon into Mario Kart 8, their Smash Bros. data will be wiped out? OR, does MK8 and Hyrule Warriors not save anything to the Amiibo figure?

Mostly false, your last sentence is correct.

Amiibos can only *store* data for a single game, currently.

But MK8 and Hyrule Warriors store nothing on the Amiibo. They just read the Amiibo ID to unlock stuff. Smash is the only game that store something on it (some parameters for the Amiibo IA you train).

Only on games that save data. Currently only smash does that. For the unlock stuff like the weapons and costumes it just need to place it on the pad.
 
Marth is not coming back to Best Buy. As some of you know my story regarding Marth, one was supposed to arrive 12/23 since Best Buy never received any at launch (or any in Mass and Conn). So I thought maybe there is hope for another shipment to Best Buy.

It was finally canceled, the item I'd not longer available the email says. The dream is dead. Really glad I had my dad pick one up in Japan.
 
Bleh, checked GameStop & no Fox, let alone any of the Wave 2 stuff (aside from one Luigi). Guessing they didn't stock up, so I just got DK for $8.50 since I figured he'd be more useful to me compared to Peach, Pikachu (since I don't care for Pokemon), & Samus. At least I got Captain Falcon in town as well.

It only wipes the data if it WRITES it to the amiibo. Stuff like Mario Kart 8 & Hyrule Warriors simply just READS the data of the amiibo, so you'll be fine.

It won't be an issue until there's another game that requires you save data to the amiibo like a memory card i.e SSB.
 
I have a feeling the next game that writes stuff to the amiibos won't be from the smash Bros set. Though who know Nintendo has done some strange things.
 
I have a feeling that the next big supported Amiibo game will be a platformer akin to 3D World which will let you use the amiibo to play as different characters from the usual set.

You mean, you might actually get to play as Captain Falcon in a 3D platformer game?

They should just update 3D World with this idea.

I don't think he's as hard to come across any more, but if anyone needs an extra Diddy I have one. I won't be able to ship it for another week since I'm out of town, but I just thought I'd throw that out there.

EDIT: Amazon has Captain Falcon for shipping 12/28 as well. Cancelled my Gamestop order and ordered through Amazon (click "Available from these sellers" and you should see Amazon at the top). $12.99 > $18.xx.
 
So, I ordered Pit and Mac from Gamestop yesterday, and got the order confirmations. But checking the order page today, it only shows pit. Is this a normal GS thing with Amiibo ordering? Or do I just need to have patience?

BTW, it was an extra mini xmas for me with when you guys posted the links to that and .fr Rosalina. Thanks!
 
Anbody know of a good place to buy a display case for my Amiibos and Infinity figures? I got a lot and want to have them displayed nicely. Thanks!
 
Got a Mario and Pikachu from my gf for Christmas. Damn, now I guess I have to buy the other regulars in Link, DK, Peach, and Kirby as I have everyone else.

To think that on Nov 21, I told myself I'd only be picking up a Marth and Fox...

So I just switched my Captain Falcon purchase from GameStop to Amazon.com. There hasn't been any cases of Amazon US Amiibo orders getting spontaneously cancelled, right? I should be good?
 
Shoot, Captain falcon from amazon already gone. I feel that South Park Gif that says "annnnd it's gone" needs to be posted every time a pre order is opened and then closed the next minute.

So guys I have a predicament. Someone gifted me a Samus amiibo but I already have her. I don't have the receipt but is it possible for me to try to exchange Samus for a different amiibo at Target? Target policy states that I may be able to exchange for a similar item without a receipt but the tough part I feel is that the person who wrapped the Samus amiibo was kind of rough with the packaging. It still perfectly sealed but some parts are bent.

As long as it's still sealed you're fine. A couple bent edges shouldn't be an issue.

Also, Captain Falcom popped back onto Amazon. He seems to be phasing in and out of existence haha. GameStop is still taking orders too.

Ok, good. I figured they would be fine, at least the US store anyway, but I'm getting paranoid about these stupid pieces of plastic, lol.

Still kind of hesitant to actually cancel my GS order though... I know I should just do it, but part of me thinks I could at least use it for trade material haha.
 
If you can afford to keep it, I wouldn't cancel multiple orders. You can always just return it unopened if you receive it somewhere else. Pre-orders seem to be all over the place right now and are no longer a guarantee anymore.

Yeah, I think I will just do that. I checked GameStop's policy and they do take in-store returns for online purchases, so I might as well just keep both orders in play.

Tell me about it. I use Marth as my main and its incredible how well it's picked up my missteps.

Plus it's learned how to play Smashketball so I'm a little terrified to play with it any more when its not on my team.
